Gallagher has been fantastic, but even if you don't count him, we have Cooper, McKenna, Hanley and Hendry all on form. McKenna, I reckon, will be the one making the step up long term. I'd rather one of them played at CB than McTominay, but I'll defer to Clarke's better judgement.

McKenna has played 4 of 15 games since the start of December.

Zak Jules being linked with Cardiff and Blackburn. Left Reading a couple of years and is now in League 2 and doing very well. He's only 23, so hopefully he can get a move to the championship and continue his development. We need all the Cb's we can get.

Zak Jules seems to have turned his career around. I remember him at the u17 Euro's and he was literally only there for his pace and strength. From what I've read he's developed the technical side of his game and turned into a half decent ball playing defender.

One of the worst players I've ever seen in the flesh.

Are Barry Maguire and James Scott worth keeping an eye on ?

James Scott is going to be a smashing player.   He has everything, but needs to be more ruthless(greedy) in front of goal which will come.

I've seen Maguire seamlessly alternate between centre half and defensive mid since he broke through at reserve/U20 level.  Certainly the manager sees him in the def mid role for the first team as he is a terrific footballer, but maybe just a bit slight for centre half.

Both are excellent footballers with another batch of promising youngsters waiting in the wings at Fir Park.

I don’t claim to know anything about Snoddy’s circumstances but in general terms, if three managers have a problem with a player, at what point do we consider that it might actually be him that’s the issue?

To clarify I'm not saying the last 3 managers as in McLeish, Strachan(who picked him regularly and was a mainstay of the team) or Levein.  I was meaning the last trio of coaching staff as in McLeish, Grant and McFadden and their apparent lack of compassion shown to Snodgrass.

  5. There was certainly an issue regarding his family and being called up then not used.  Going by the (alleged) details, he was treated pretty shabbily by the last trio of baw sacks which led to his hiatus from recent squads.

I'd be surprised if he has forgiven the SFA for that episode, though I would be happy enough if Steve Clarke talks him back round.

  6. McBurnie is honking to be honest.  I've never been more baffled by a players valuation as much as I am by McKenna's.  He's the very definition of a cart horse.

Stinking, outdated tactics as usual from McLeish.  This result would see almost any International coach get their jotters, but not in our case.

2 big games for Motherwell in next 3 days, St Mirren away tonight and Dundee at home on Saturday.

Less than 4 points from these 2 games will undoubtedly see the calls for the managers head get louder.

I like Robinson, so hopefully he can get a reaction, I actually think a right pumping would almost be a good thing to get said reaction, at the moment, we’re not scoring and losing by the odd goal, which gives the illusion we are close, when in reality we are dreadful with players out of position all over the place to fit a system that isn’t working.

Robinsons slightly industrial style of play and “earning the rite to play football” is all very well when it’s working.

Less than 6 points will see the calls for Robinson to go get louder.  His league record is abysmal and the cup runs papered over the cracks of that.  His recruitment in the summer has so far proven to be an unmitigated failure and his tactics and systems aren't befitting of a UEFA pro licenced coach.

If he starts with 3-5-2 tonight and loses then I reckon there will be loud shouts for him to be gone before Saturday.

  8. I have to say, I've been to both our games with Livi this season and haven't been impressed with them at all.  If anything, I'm bewildered at their continued good form as they are rank rotten from what I've seen in the flesh.

Admittedly I haven't watched a live TV game or highlights of the other games they've been involved in, but fair play to them as they are doing something right.

On the back three argument; Motherwell have persisted with it for 15 games so far this season and virtually all of last season and it isn't working for us.  The manager is so determined to continue to shoehorn players into that system rather than find a system that suits the players.  Teams have worked out our game plan, hence the abysmal start to the season we've made.  We've got some cracking footballers who aren't seeing game time as we have a manager so clouded by stubbornness that he continues to put a disjointed side on the park with no real way of playing.  I think McLeish must be in close contact with Robbo as Scotland are certainly in the same boat.

Cannae quite see that being true to be honest 😏

2 folk who were at the match in Israel witnessed it happen just after full time and have no reason to lie or even talk about it unless it happened.  I'll take their word for it if you don't mind.  Hopefully someone had the camera phone out recording it and it makes its way online as it may well start a clear out at the SFA.

The SFA, especially folk like McRae, have less than zero respect for fans.  We're the shite on their shoe and a mere inconvenience when they are on their all expenses paid trips.

  10. Had similar messages from those who were there saying McRae was giving it big licks to the fans.  Cupping his ears, laughing, waving and clapping with glee when the blazers were getting it tight.  Classy stuff from a reprehensible cunt.

  11. Played some decent stuff for half an hour which was encouraging.  It was absolutely a Portugal B team who definitely weren't going all out.  When they did turn it on, they were through us no bother.  Grudgingly had to cheer Naismith's goal as I had them to win -1 and -2.

Still a lot of questions(probably even more than we had last Wednesday) to answer in defence, midfield and upfront.

  12. Just to expand on McLeish the dinosaur and being a perfect fit for a prehistoric Football Association.

Upon leaving Forest, his last legitimate chance of decent level management was finished.  His most recent long term job lasted a year and that ended in 2012.  He was out of work and out of football for a reason until his pal fast tracked him into a job (whilst we had no CEO to object) he had no right to be considered for.  He seems to have zero idea of tactics, little knowledge of his players and importantly, little knowledge of the opposition.  No one was prepared to give him a job in football until the fucking SFA had been fucked off by their only 2 targets.  It's cronyism in its finest form.

good post pal. Unfortumately the hatred for rangers on here superceeds that. Boyd played for rangers and that is all that matters. Mcleish is a national hero who won league after league with the dons. As well as europe. But no. He managed rangers so he is the devil reinm canny spell that. Butbu know what i mean. Bile.

McLeish absolutely ruined Motherwell so that's why I dislike him.

Let's deal in facts though as to why people don't like McLeish.  He's ultimately failed at every job he's had since being Scotland manager in 2007.

Less than a year in charge of Scotland and fucked off at the first decent offer.

Birmingham City - Relegated them and they're still there.

Aston Villa - Sacked after an abject season.

Forest - Binned after 7 games and 1 win.

Genk - Sacked after an average season.

Zamalek - Almost started another Arab Spring at Zamalek.

He was without doubt the luckiest Rangers manager in living memory.

McLeish is a footballing dinosaur and a perfect fit for a prehistoric Football Association.

As much as some Rangers fans love to play the victim card at every and any opportunity, the flak that McLeish is getting has nothing to do with him being an ex Rangers manager.  The fact anyone is suggesting it says more about the extremely paranoid, siege mentality the more mentally unstable Rangers fans have than any underlying hatred for a guy that left Rangers over a decade ago.

  14. He should have been nowhere near the job, but got it through his mate feeling sorry for him.

I'd have Levein back if it meant binning this dinosaur that's how serious this situation is.  I keep hearing about how well we played against Albania?  We were absolutely murder until Armstrong came on and even then we weren't that good, with us being fortunate that Albania are one of the poorest sides to ever take to the field at Hampden in recent memory.

McLeish will set us back years, but the SFA don't have the capacity to even consider an alternative.  We could be doing with shutting down the SFA and starting again from scratch.

  15. I'm surprised at how little has been made of the obvious carve this deal is.  It's gloriously shite and standard SFA mismanagement.  Folk complaining that we would be homeless if the SRU changed the deal, what do we do when we can't afford to pay the financiers of this newly agreed one and subsequent over priced stadium improvements?  Sell it to them and rent it back will be the answer.   I wish I could have been in the Club that have been privy to this and I would've thrown in my 10 cents for a share in the future deal.

Great for business, but shite for Scottish Football.

Castle Rock on Hulu. A Stephen King series. Brillant.

It starts off based at Shawshank Prison from the King novel where Tim Robbins starred in the film.

It's next on my list of series to watch.

Finished Under the Dome and I'm up to date with Mr Mercedes which I'm enjoying.

I'm also looking forward to The Man in the High Castle season 3 which is released on Prime, October 5th.
