I watched Gallagher at Livingston and I believe he’s a better “footballer” than many give him credit for. Under good management and coaching I think he could turn out better than Hanley. But he’ll not reach his potential at Aberdeen. He needs to go South and play against better players/teams and play in teams more possession based, instead of the more direct type of Scottish game played up here.
QPR would be a very good fit, they play a back 3, play nice possession based football, try to play out from the back when possible. Mark Warburton and the coaches there would improve his “footballing” side.

You realise Gallagher is 30 and has played for Clyde, Dundee, Livingston and Motherwell? He should go where he'll get the most money, combined with regular games.

What i will say is anyone voting snp 1&2 are pretty much wasting a vote

Completely and utterly misleading and there's no way that you don't know that fine well. Any SNP supporter in the south of Scotland who doesn't go SNP 1&2 is taking a massive risk for a start. The same applies, albeit to a lesser degree, in the Highlands and Islands and plenty other areas where the SNP aren't guaranteed to win the constituencies.

  3. It's all brinkmanship anyway. UEFA will give the big clubs more direct say in the running of the Champions League and more money from it and the changes due to be voted on today will end up going through anyway and that's the end of the super league. Until the next time the big clubs want more money of course.

All this talk of kicking them out their domestic leagues and banning players from international football is purely posturing as part of the negotiation.

  4. Tierney is a world class attacking left back because he's so good going forward and also because he can hold his own defensively. Playing a loose left centre back role against a relatively weak side like the Faroes allowed him to show this off perfectly and he was involved in three goals and most of our good forward play.

Generally, we struggle to score goals and create chances, so playing Tierney as a defensive midfielder so that he can't use his attacking threat on the left flank is obviously the way to go.

Not sure if that makes a huge difference? John Finnie is standing down so that might be a straight swap? A lot of that "Green" vote last time round would be personal votes for Finnie.

Hopefully that's his logic in standing in the Highlands. Either way it's a complication for me as I didn't/wouldn't vote for Finnie but I might well vote for Wightman.

    Very disheartening.

Lets be clear here there is a very good chance Kenny McLean, Liam Palmer, Greg Taylor and John Fleck are not going to be in the running to start any of the three matches coming up. Turnbull, Gauld, Gilmour and Patterson are ones for NOW not the future but they will be a part of our future. Yes I get Clarke feels he can't be experimenting in key World Cup qualifiers but nobody will convince me that those that have missed out are inferior to some named in the squad.

I think Turnbull and Gauld could make an argument for being hard done by for this squad, and I'd include Gilmour every time but can kinda see why Clarke didn't, but given that Gerrard played a centre back in Patterson's position yesterday then maybe he isn't quite ready for international football yet. Hickey probably deserves a go before him.

Spot on, glad there are others who can see the benefit of this. Because it is an Old Firm backed idea there are automatically fans of other clubs who will say no regardless. I follow a smaller club myself but I can see the benefit for Scotland. If everyone can just take their club bias away for a second and think about what's best for the national team it's a no brainer to let the two biggest clubs in this country, with the best facilities, best coaches who actually have a plan on how to develop elite players, a plan that follows similar ones elite clubs around Europe follow, and they have the money to implement it, why would we be against that and try and stand in their way because a when in no way shape or form is it meant to diminish any smaller clubs but in the big picture it is designed to in turn improve our national team

What’s best for the national team would be for all gate money and other income to be pooled, not a sticking plaster solution which will only help widen the gap between the old firm and everyone else.
