  1. Are these teams still flying in the night before games? That will surely still require some kind of adherance to restrictions in Scotland even if only staying for one night. Surely they wont fly the day of the games?

Not accurate. Our whole squad didn’t need to self isolate when Armstrong tested positive. That’s just what the Czechs and Croatians are claiming. I suspect they don’t like the social distancing rules which they claim is costing them a lot more than they were going to pay when they booked the places originally.

I think you’re spot on with that. This is a Czech side who had major issues 8/9 months ago with Covid, which says enough. For me they clearly have an issue with the social distancing and mitigations required to stay here.

I'm not massively worried about this at the moment, there have been numerous instances in the past whereby players have tested positive and it hasn't spread throughout the rest of the team.

He'll have likely caught this prior to meeting up with the squad due to known incubation periods, so no suggestion at this time that there is any issue with how the SFA are running their operation. We'll also have hopefully caught his infection pretty quickly before he'll have had much chance to spread it to anyone else, which is good news. I assume that every player will have their own rooms to minimise contact in that regard.

The players will likely now be tested daily to keep an eye on things and if anyone tests positive in the next few days, that should be caught before it causes any major issues.

On BBC website that Clarke has confirmed that they are 99% certain he brought it into camp. No symptoms and that he will be tested everyday and they he needs to return a couple of negative tests. Though they are not 100% sure on the Spanish guidance for isolation.

  4. Well if they cancel every game over the next month due to one Covid case in a squad we'll still be playing it at Christmas. This isn't the first and wont be the last over the next month.  Dutch goalie also missing tomorrow for the same reason.

I would imagine the squad were tested last week before they flew and they again yesterday ahead of tomorrow. Hopefully just a false positive.

If it's not too late, I'd just keep McTominay and Gilmour miles away from the squad for a few days until we know for certain it is safe. Same goes for likely replacements e.g Gauld, Griffths, Considine, Paterson etc etc. Don't call anyone new up until we have to.

If we have a big outbreak, we'll need a lot of players in reserve.

They wouldn't be travelling to Portugal if it wasn't safe. If there were any real serious concerns the game tomorrow would have been cancelled already.

There is a video guide online somewhere.

Off the top of my head you get the basic info beforehand (ie where your actual seat is) which I assume will have your slot time for entry detail on it, but the actual barcode/QRcode (which is your ticket) will not be active until you are near the stadium on the day.

    Cheers. Good to know.

Your order should show up in next few days (when you will get the email to download the app) but your actual ticket will not be with you until you are within so-and-so distance of Hampden/Wembley on the day, where it will be sent via bluetooth to your phone.

How will you know what time your entry slot will be then? Will it be in the email?

Are you having a laugh? Celtic flew to Dubai a week after the whole country went into lockdown so it’s hardly the same thing.

You realise we are playing the Netherlands in Portugal next week don’t you?

European squads are going to be travelling all over Europe for a month.

Plus they are not allowed out the camp they are in, not even for a walk. It has everything they need, pitches, gym etc plus a 9 hole golf course. Its not as if they will be going on a jolly round the local bars like a certain Mr Duffy did 🤣

What do you think will happen? Is there protocol in place for if they can’t host it? Murrayfield maybe or moved to Wembley? I would suggest behind closed doors but eufa definitely don’t want that and want money in

There is no way UEFA will want it behind closed doors. They will move it to Northosh England somewhere. Newcastle or Liverpool somewhere.

    What I'd like to see:

    Gordon

    O'Donnell, Hendry, Hanley, Tierney, Robertson

    McGinn, McTominay, Gilmour

    Christie, Dykes

    What I think we'll get:

    Marshall

    O'Donnell, McTominay, Cooper, Tierney, Robertson

    McGregor, Fleck, McGinn

    Forrest, Adams

The thought of a McGinn, McTominay, Gilmour midfield has me drooling, but it looks like McGregor is undroppable no matter how often he's MIA.

Clarke has already said McTominay will play in midfield during the tournament.

Granted. However, I'd hazard a good bet that without injuries McBurnie and maybe even Burke would have been in if fit.

Suspect you could be right, suppose we will never know.

Such as Fleck, McBurnie, Burke, Taylor and Palmer.

From what's being said this morning I would say the only one of that 5 that will defo be in the squad is Fleck. Palmer seems to be fighting with Patterson for the 2nd right back spot. I suspect Taylor will be sacrificed to make way for Forrest as given the injury doubt of Fraser, Forrest it cert I would say.

I'd like to see Gilmour and Patterson in the squad because I want our best players, regardless.

    (Sentimental pick would be Considine.)

Considine isn't going to go at the expense of Patterson. Papers saying its a choice between Considine and Cooper. No disrespect to Considine but it shouldn't even be a debate. Cooper potentially starts for me never mind being in the squad.

Is that true? People say that, but I don't remember there being an abundance of talented young Scots under Brown's regime.

Who was there? Burchill, Jess, Booth, Wilkie, Gillies, Bernard, Crawford, Easton, etc?

Not exactly world beaters. Booth is the only one who had a mildly  successful career... and Jess was heralded as the Scottish wonderkid.

He gave Barry Ferguson his debut in September 98.

Yes, it could well be a UK wide problem soon. I expect things to get worse in Glasgow for the next 2 weeks and then start to go down. It will be tight regarding tier 2/3 because of the lag.

Thats what makes me wonder will UEFA get nervous and say bugger we’re not taking the chance. I really hope they dont but with UEFA they wont give a f*ck.
