  1. Was Shinnie eligible for that game last night?  Looked to me like he was exactly what the Dons were missing in midfield, although having said that, they were playing a team from the 6th tier FFS!  You would've expected an initial 10-minute flurry from the home side and then the full-timers taking control and battering them.

Saw a cruel one on Twitter earlier - "you're 2-1 up in the 94th minute, end up losing, and that's still not the most humiliating result of your season!"

  2. FFS that was desperate stuff from Aberdeen. No leadership, nobody taking responsibility, nothing.  Darvel thoroughly deserved that, they played some really slick fitba at times and got stuck right in when they had to.

Feel sorry for any older Dons fan who remembers coming back from Gothenburg on the ferry and tonight is going back up the road on a supporters' bus having been subjected to that utter sh*te.  What a shambles that club has become, but at least they won't have Goodwin going into the next game.

I do thanks. That was Mr Tidys second negotiation tactic after the offer of a tribute act. But I told him to get his wallet out,  this lady’s  not for turning 😁 I am not keen on outside concerts in the UK, weather is too unpredictable. And I am not that keen on London either !

Looks like you're sorted.  Get the cheapest seat you can and then just sit there looking forlorn... https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/reason-why-billy-joel-refuses-sell-front-row-seats/

I think he must easily be a top 5 greatest british player ever. Whos better than him? Maybe best or dalglish? I think hes better than the likes of rooney, giggs and gascoigne.

Law, Best and Charlton from the great Man U team of the 60's for a start.  That's before you start talking about the likes of Johnstone, Dalglish and Baxter, etc.

As for Rooney, Giggs and Gascoigne, I'd want any of them in my team before Gareth Bale.  Great player though and he's had an amazing career.  Total respect for the way he's always trumpeted what playing for his country meant to him.  Probably in the top 3 greatest Welsh players ever alongside Giggs and Charles.

Gilmour stuck to the  bench for the second game in a row.

Not great would have expected him to get a few minuites at least, with Brighton cruising to victory in both.

He really needs to GTF out of there.  Second disastrous season in a row.

My memory is vague but wasn’t the Love St result sort of irrelevant as Hearts failed to beat Dundee?

No, Hearts just needed a point hence the pitch invasion at 2-0 when it truly was all over.  I'm pretty sure there was a sickness bug in the Hearts' camp that week as well.  I think Levein was missing from the final game and he'd been brilliant all season.  Bottom line is, Albert Kidd or St Mirren or not, it was always in Hearts' own hands.

I worked in Edinburgh at the time and it was like death in the family stuff for many of the workforce on the Monday.  I don't remember any of the Hibbies being daft enough to wind them up about it either although they were obviously p*ssing themselves.

  7. Pele greatest ever for me.  Shades it from Maradona cos he was 2-footed and good in the air as well.  Messi is a good bit behind Maradona IMO.

Bill Shankly always said George Best was better than Pele but then Best was done at the top-level by his mid-20's.

Mbappe will obviously be the next big thing, if he isn't there already, but I'm not sure he's got that extra something that'll take him into the Messi-Maradona-Pele bracket.

Aye, the audience will be thinking 'WTAF has this got to do with independence?'.

    Signed,
A TAMBer in Ireland (an independent former colony of England, where we've had this legislation for years - and zero fucks are given).

You seriously believe that this won't be used as an extra weapon to beat the Yes side over the head with?  The way it'll be presented, people will give a lot more than zero f*cks.

It crossed my mind that the MSPs who voted for this bill (regardless of political party) have opened themselves open to the  "What is a woman?" question so loved by LBC/BBC radio journalists and O-Grade biology examiners.

I guess they can now confidently answer "a person with a gender recognition certificate!" ?

But if so, what does that make the 50% of the Scottish population who are female and most likely won't have such a certificate?  Or will they be encouraged to apply for a certificate too? (I honestly can't get my head around this).

Anyway, rather them than me on the BBC Radio 4's woman's hour.

And can you imagine a debate being held in the run-up to this fabled indyref2 with the likes of Patrick Harvie invited on with some Better Together rep?

Presenter: so what is a woman?

Better Together rep: "An adult human female."

Harvie: <insert garbled, biology-denying, total, complete and utter fkin lunacy here>

    Watching TV audience: "WTAF?"

    Madness.

As James Kelly said, It's hard to think that any other  government of any political persuasion would prioritise the rights of men charged with sex offences.  Insanity

When you find yourself agreeing with the likes of Murdo Fraser then you know things are seriously fked up.  I find it hard to believe that the SNP have let themselves get dragged into this quagmire.

Not sure it would neccessarily be a step backwards. He cant get a game for brighton and was pretty poor at norwich. He has to accept that he might not make it at a top club and rangers could be a good stepping stone in his career before moving back to the epl or a top european league in the future.

I would like to see him go spain of portugal because i think it would suit his style but most of the decent sides there might not fancy him so he needs to accept that somewhere like rangers could be beneficial for him in the long run.

He needs to stay as far away from Ibrox as he can.  He'll learn absolutely fck all being involved in a turkey shoot for all but 4 games every season.

Did you not know England have already won that ?....

Good point.  Well, I'm sure that France will prove themselves worthy opponents in the final.

Back in the real world, I doubt if we'll need to worry about England winning anything for some time to come.  Won't stop them chugging themselves into a frenzy of course before the next inevitable, hilarious let-down.

I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that I was correct to predict there wouldn't be an independence referendum

If you look at Sturgeon's statement at the time it was pretty full of wriggle room and get-outs.  Seemed a bit daft to announce it and THEN go to the SC.  Now the likes of Tommy Sheppard are saying that the de facto referendum would be a step in the journey rather than the conclusion!  How anyone can keep voting for these trough-slurping bstrds is a mystery to me.

Oh well, it'll be like going back to 1983 for me when I cast my first vote for the party of independence even though I knew they hadn't a cat in hell's chance of ousting the sitting Labour MP in our Fife mining constituency.  Looks like history will be repeating itself as I look for a pro-indy candidate on the ballot paper.

  14. Absolutely incredible, out-of-touch front page of the Daily Heil today.  Do they seriously think folk struggling to heat their homes and pay for food at the same time will look at that picture and think, "Well that's a load off..."

We could always burn copies of it to keep the chill at bay I suppose.  Fkin unbelievable.  Our bills are through the roof, but never mind... there's a couple of over-privileged parasites, that'll never have to worry about whether their numerous castles are warm enough, grinning along with all the extra mouths they've been kind enough to let us feed.  GTF.  🤬

Was a terrible shame wasn't it. Hope Morocco beat France tonight, don't want England being beaten by the eventual winners.

Argentina to beat Morocco in the Final please! 👍

Aye that'd be ideal if England were beaten by the team that were beaten by the team that were beaten by the team that won the World Cup!

France's defence is honking so you could easily see Morocco snatching a goal and then putting the shutters up.  Hope it's a good game anyway and not a "let's stink the place out going for penalties".

  16. 1 hour ago, mcguffin said:

This is a good analysis of Morocco. I think France will have their work cutout.  That said, with Griezmann and Giroud (with Mbappe playing the same scary decoy role as in the Quater-Final), they might be the only team so far who might unlock the amazing Moroccan defence?

They could easily do a Greece 2004.  It'd be some story if they do.  It'd be interesting to see how they'd react to going behind though.

I don't know where this "England were the better team" stuff is coming from. France were clearly the better team and had that game under control. France weren't at their best with their final ball often just not quite spot on.  I'm happy for the English to think they were the better team, and hard done by, because that means they won't learn from their short comings. They are just not good enough at this level. If Morocco don't offer any more than England did, then France will be very happy.

If France lift this World Cup with 5 or 6 of their best players missing then nobody else should bother turning up for the next couple.  They looked to me like they could step it up against the English and had the better clear cut chances.  England probably wasted their best opportunity, putting out a full-strength side against a weakened top-level one and they still couldn't do the business despite getting a couple of penalties.

The delusion will continue though even if it has absolutely no basis in facts.  They've already got the next Euros won apparently.  🙄  Reality is, meet a big side and out they go.  When a cheating johnny foreigner can be identified as a scapegoat, the ref in this instance, it does make it even funnier.  🤣
