  1. The pleasing thing about last night was the total lack of inferiority our players showed.  The Dykes chance right on HT was a case in point.  I think it was Christie the ball fell to in our box and I wanted it blootered into Row Z to try and relieve the pressure and see the half out.  Instead he screened it perfectly while waiting for an option in Robertson who played a brilliant ball over their defence.  It would've been some goal.  Then you had Calmac carrying the ball way up the park at the end and squaring it to try and get a 3rd instead of running time down.

This is a different Scotland now.  Someone on here said when Clarke took over that they hoped he'd turn us into a sexier Kilmarnock.  I think he's well on his way.  Been a long time since I felt this optimistic.

Not really tbh.  I used to have a lot of respect for him, found him to be an unlikeable individual though.  If I want to watch someone sticking the knife into the SNP I’d choose someone who is doing it for reasons other than personal animus.

Well there's a lot of reasons to stick the knife into New SNP and you'd be hard pushed to find someone with a better one.

Fuck that mate!  We just beat Spain ffs, lets milk the shit out of that.  I've been supporting Scotland for over 40 years and I'm not letting this result go by me.  Take these moments whilst you can, believe me, they're a long time coming!

    👍

  4. There's always been a player in there once he managed to cut out the daft stuff.  The position on the right of defence has to be his to lose now.  (Still wish he'd gone to Italy though.)

None of them are great at communication. Kate Forbes is a bit awkward as well but she is more natural than Humza. I will give him a chance, I think its unfair for anyone to just dismiss someone, but I am not optimistic, I think the divisions in the party may be past repair.

Thing is, nobody's really just dismissing anyone.  He's been in a few jobs and made an arse of them all.  From an intellectual giant like Alex Salmond to this character...

    He'll be a disaster.

I’ve done so much travelling in the last few days I don’t even know what day it is. 😂

I had a mental image of some guy in a 10-gallon hat walking around outside Hampden going, "Where the fk is everyone?!" 😂

  7. Well the route to independence is clearly not through New SNP.  That's been obvious for about 8 years now and it certainly won't arrive through this fkin idiot.  I reckon they'll lose at least 30 MPs/trough-slurpers at the next WM GE.  Not a bad thing as their total demise is now necessary for the indy cause to move forward.

What party/entity will grasp the mantle I don't know, but the SNP will eventually implode as spectacularly as Labour did up here.  No problem with their party-before-country supporters crowing for now.  He who laughs last and all that.  🙂

Won’t be the end of the world if we drop points in Georgia as long as Norway do as well and we beat Georgia at home. A point over there would be an improvement on what we’ve managed before and would likely be a good result given their recent form.

The games we’ve lost over there have been so detrimental to us because our rivals have went to Georgia and won. We really have got a tough group their time considering we were the pot 2 team. Probably got the hardest teams possible from pots 3,4 and 5.

Hopefully we’ll beat Spain tonight and get off to the best possible start.

Well we'll maybe be beating them tonight in your dreams!

Take the match into context eh.

Match stats say it all about how much Croatia dominated the match in every department. Wales equalised with the last kick of the game in what was a classic smash and grab raid. Hardly, a case of Wales matching Croatia in every department (far from it).

I only saw the first half, but from that, Wales were to Croatia what Cyprus were to us.  I was amazed when I seen they'd got a point.

Sounds like you would be classed as a "supporter" rather than a "member". You would get invites to things but no voting rights. What people often forget is that branches tend to be run by volunteers on a part time basis. Members and supporters details may not get updated on a regular basis. It can come down to when the volunteers have time to do it.

To conference though?  Sounded to me like a bit of a security risk and when I emailed them back and asked if they were sure I should be getting these invites I never heard from them again.

I'm taking these "i'm not a member anymore but i got to vote" with a pinch of salt

Nearly all of them are ALBA who are trying to get the election re-run and in turn destroy what's left of the SNP credibility

The SNP gave Mi-Voice a figure of 72000 live members

So the only way lapsed members would be getting ballots is if the SNP membership is lower than 72,000

Remember when the SNP membership was booming and Murrell was giving live updates of the numbers ?

    Same database

Aye I remember that.  What I don't understand is why it had to be dragged out of them and how the up-to-date figure seemed to be so hard to come by.

Most the players who are only doing it for their own goals are usually weeded out after 2-3 caps, and soon forgotten about, but the one's who do commit and make the effort, any previous comments are usually forgotten pretty fast like Adams, and I doubt anyone would grudge James Morrison a single one of his caps, especially when he was the first name on the team sheet for a while....

Phil Bardsley has the most tedious link to Scotland of any player we have ever been able to get through this rule, and everyone was welcoming of him from the start, and were even calling for a recall in the build up to the Euros.

Matt Ritchie I think it was simply a case that he come to the conclusion that international football was not for him (great player with the ball at his feet, but as slow as a week in the jail, which was not cut out for international football).

Being honest, I give it 15-18 months before there is stories that Anderson will be back looking for a Scotland call up..... then its down to Clarke what he thinks he should do.

You reckon?  My opinion is the same now as it was then, i.e. he shouldn't have been within a light year of a Scotland shirt.

Think you’re making out that folk on here are against English born players playing for Scotland. That’s not the case. Over the years there’s been plenty committed English born players such as Alexander, Hutchinson, McTominay etc etc. No one is complaining about them.

What folk are (quite rightly) getting the hump about is wee chancers holding out for a “better” gig whilst not wanting to give a flat no to Scotland. Fuck that shit.

It is going to be a MASSIVE  setback, not one step. If the things this Smitty character is saying are true how do you envisage moving forward in any way whatsoever when the only party with the capability of taking us is embroiled in all this shit ? Absolutely no one will vote for them. People are looking for something different to what we currently have in the UK, do you think voters will risk the upheaval just to get more of the same when independent ?? Not all supporters of independence are stick on ‘no matter what’ nationalists. Many are tentative ‘yes’.

Kate Forbes or Ash Regan being in charge will not make one iota of a difference, the damage will be well done. Alba are not an alternative. More women hate AS than hate the bloody GRR bill.
Unionists will be back in charge and you really can wave goodbye to independence for a lot more than a generation.

If of course all these accusations are true.

Once it comes out what these evil bstrds tried to do to Alex Salmond you'll find that the public perception of him will change.  Until now all they know is what they've read in the papers, seen on the TV, or witnessed from that screeching wee harridan during what was supposed to be a Covid briefing.  Not everyone reads the pro-indy blogs.

I've been saying for ages that this boil needs to be lanced ASAP so the sooner the better.  There's still 50% of the electorate up for grabs with the other 50 being split between 3 unionist parties so I wouldn't be too pessimistic.  That 50% are not going to suddenly vote for parties that have proven themselves to be enemies of Scotland (although you could argue that's what they've been doing for 8 years!).

Fumigating the SNP WILL make a difference - a HELL of a difference.  Once folk see that all the sh*te has been cleared out and a no-nonsense leader is in place who'll actually promote folk to her cabinet based on what's between their ears rather than their legs like Sturgeon's gender-balanced nonsense, the voters will come back.

There's been folk on this thread saying Sturgeon was a "plant".  I really don't think she was.  I reckon she was just a total incompetent who surrounded herself with nobodies that wouldn't outshine her, all the while keeping the referendum carrot dangling for her side of the electorate.  That day at the Hydro well and truly went to her head and that's when the personality cult started.  All over now though and been a long time in coming.
