#6 is irrelevant. Half the team is English...
I'll support anyone who leads or pulls on the dark blue (or pink!)
Which #6? The first one or the second one?

Do wish that after signing him for Celtic, Strachan had let Brown play in a more attacking role like he used to for Hibs, instead of turning him into a defensive midfielder.
Scored on his debut against the USA (back in 2005) but had the goal wrongly disallowed didn't he ?
Yes, yes, yes! Been saying this for years. He took an exciting flair player with an (IMO) undeserved reputation as a hothead and turned him into a hatchet man. Also did the same with Hartley and Robson. It was a nice lob v USA as I remember within a few minutes of him coming on but don't think I've ever seen it again.

Wish it wasn't!

Entries for Next years Paris marathon opened yesterday for anyone interested.
I heard the baggage setup is excellent...unlike Manchester!

I think all my points will have disappeared by then so if I go down I will probably be in the market for a ticket too! Gutted I just missed out on an official ticket for Ireland last year as was too slow buying or I'd have at least had 1 point.

If you have an I-pad or I-phone, download Universal TV HD or Global TV HD. Both will have Premier Sports.
You will get a few adverts when you log on but just keep on deleting them. When you get the channel you want, all the adverts will stop.
you can get full Sky Sports and BT Sport on these channels - all for free !
Hi just downloaded these but can't find Premier Sports. If anyone has found it can you tell me which category it was in?
Edit - found on Universal TV HD under Football funnily enough. Listed under the game rather than channel. Hopefully it works.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Lesley Riddoch in "The National" comic writes "The temporary bridge closure represents the ideal chance to make a permanent shift in the way many folk travel into Edinburgh. For planning for life after oil to begin."
Agreed. I normally get the bus from Ferrytoll as I work in the city centre and it is a good service but has been taking longer and longer to get home since they started changing the road layouts for the new bridge. Huge queues to get over and I bet half of the folk in cars could get the bus if they could be arsed and we could all be home in 20 minutes. Have been getting train this month and getting home much quicker at night so might just stick with that even though it is a bit more expensive.

Cheers for the tip. That's me sorted when I find a 24 hour childminder.I walked into work this morning and it was like the Mary Celeste and not long after some of them got in they were away again!! these Fife fukkers expect everything on a plate. That's why there's so much unemployment in Edinburgh, all these Fifers taking our jobs
In the past when there's been heavy snow or winds and buses have been stopped in Edinburgh no one bats an eyelid but when the brig' is closed its panda-fukkin-monium
When I was young and not long started working I was late one day during the tram debacle and my excuse being young was I was stuck in traffic, I was quite rightly told "leave earlier" during the height of the tram works I was leaving at the back of 1 for a 4 o'clock start. To this day I have never once been late for work.
Get up out your beds earlier ya bunch o' wanx

Will be registering for Manchester marathon on payday.
Anyone else doing it or have done it before?
I've entered this. Not done it before though.

Was there too. Brutal conditions underfoot. Ran it last year (my first XC) and was quicker this time but much lower placed. Am doing Tinto hill race next week which will be my first hill race other than 7 Hills of Edinburgh. Don't think it's going to be my thing, all this stuff to carry...I might stop for a picnic at the top if its a nice day (unlikely!).National short course cross country today at bellahouston park. Pissing down all day, naturally, and the course was a total mud bath with huge puddles that you just had to run straight through. Good fun until I got home and had to wash everything I left the house with this morning including spikes, trainers and the bag I was carrying everything in!

Thought some of your Aberdeen-based parkrun folks might be interested in this if you hadn't seen already. Starts this Saturday: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/ellon/

I hope you're right but my instincts tell me he's the new John Fleck.
What about Andrew Bagshaw? He must be about in his prime now.
-
Seriously, remind me of the promising youngsters whose growth Craig Brown stinted? He played the ones that were good enough, the reality was there wasnt enough that were good enough.
Gareth Williams and Robbie Stockdale (apparently Sunderland caretaker manager just now!)
-
I think if he is fit then Forrest should play. I have slagged him rotten having seen him do absolutely hee haw for Scotland (and never watched Celtic as I have no interest) but I thought he looked really good on Thursday so would like to see him play again. If he can play like that every game then it will be like having a new player (or having 11 players as he had previously been as good as a man down).
Otherwise would be good to see some of the squad players getting a cap and a decent chance of a goal.
-
Hope he doesn't pack it in as he is still a good player even if not the best and I think it should be up to the manager to retire a player. That being said he was a better player when he was at Hibs 10 years ago - full of tricks but still athletic but used it to drive forward and attack rather than 'run around getting in people's faces' (of course he did that too). Celtic manager of the time seemed obsessed with buying up the best attacking midfielders in the league (other examples being Hartley and Robson) and turning them into hatchet man. Now what ever happened to that manager…?
-
Brilliant tonight. He got a bit lost when he tried to slag off Aberdeen and got a mixed reception, but other than that, fantastic.
When he had the tweets at the end,it ended in a marriage proposal,he seemed genuinely delighted at that.
Support was good too, home now, away to roll some fajitas
with hoose rice?

The place I went (Millers on the 192) was fine. Reckon they will show anything which is not on an internet only channel.

42:13, Lincoln in March this year, nice flat course.
Beat my parkrun PB this morning, 19:48, only my second sub-20 since I first broke it in April.
I got the exact same time yesterday morning, at Falkirk parkrun!

All this chat about not enough time to learn a new system with 2 strikers. FFS these guys are paid to play football so they SHOULD be able to work it out and have surely done so before many times. Then again a professional footballer SHOULD at least attempt to kick the ball with both feet but as long as their link up play is good that's OK
-
The guy can barely stand on his right foot.

Agreed Jackson is a fud. We met him in Kiev though had no idea who he was at that time and he acted like a complete cock.

Oh and McToot I will pass on your thoughts on the lack of medals at the Knockhill race. My shoebox is bursting at the seams though.
What is your tipping point?

Same as a lot of others I have had it. It's just a hassle going to, and particularly getting back from, the games. Hardly go to away games anymore and got nil points as I missed getting an SSC Ireland ticket so in 2 minds whether to bother with Wembley or see if someone is daft enough to buy my already purchased train tickets. Have also offered my remaining home tickets elsewhere.
