Six points would definitely be enough for at the very least second. Most points a group can yield is 16 so two teams with twelve points between them means maximum the other teams can pick-up is four.

16 wasn’t in the 3 times table last time I looked

Cheers, got in touch with SSC and was sent a link (possibly this one) and I got my squad announcement so assume it's fixed now. Just need to wait for the England tickets to get down to 2 points now. I really picked my moment to stop going to the games 😆

They sent an email to (I assume) all members last week advising what our allocation was and how many points were required for our 3 group games. If you didn’t receive it it’s probably in you junk folder.

They would have no need to send an email to anyone with fewer than 13 points today as they were only sending access codes to members who were eligible to buy tickets.

Cheers for info. I’ve had nothing from them, in junk or otherwise so will chase that up!

  4. I guess it doesn’t really matter as I don’t have enough points these days to have even a sniff of a ticket, but should I have received an email at least informing me of the criteria/procedure? Have been an SSC/STC member for years but received no communication on this, or anything in fact, since March squad announcement. Just wanted to confirm there have been other emails before I get onto them at what I am sure is a busy time!

I was having the same problem with the picture so I tweeted them and they said to phone them. A couple of days later I thought I'd give it one more try and it worked no bother

I converted the pic I was using from jpg to png and it worked fine.  I have rejoined...I think.  No one uses jpgs anyway so I can see why they did that.

  6. I wasn't going to renew but have been persuaded I may as well in case we finally qualify, etc... Went to do a couple of days ago and website was down.  Tried now and my picture is invalid.  I can't see any indication of what criteria they have - file size, format, etc.  Anyone seen any clues?  What a shambles.

This totally.  Sick of these rugby comparisons.  Pisses me right off. How can comparisons be made when there's only like 6 countries play it!

Come on that's hardly fair. Romania are a prising side these days...

Yeah but pushing to the front when you're not one of the quickest runners is just selfish IMO. What's the point in pushing in front of someone who's going to have to weave through a crowd of folk to over take you after 100 yards?

Seeing folk are clearly going to be slower than me try and push in front of me at the start line is the principal reason i don't do Park Run. I'll leave the ignorant plodders to their 25 minute 5k and do my own runs independently

Don't think people pushing to the front is any more of a problem than in any paid race.  I would think if you are going to be running reasonably fast yourself you could position yourself at the front and would then have no issue.  As it happens I got caught up myself behind some slower folk at Fulham Palace parkrun last week but that was because I misjudged it and ultimately it probably cost me about 2 seconds on what was a poor run anyway.  It is usually never an issue at either Edinburgh or Dunfermline which I mostly go to or others, including Falkirk.  Personally I enjoy parkruns and in particular trying new ones but obviously they are not for (quite) everyone!

  9. Think I posted on this thread last month saying I was in 2 minds about trying for an England ticket but I had train and hotel booked so I went albeit with no enthusiasm whatsoever.  At half time I said if it got to 3-0 I would walk and I was good to my word even though in fairness I have seen a lot worse over the years.  It was the first time I have ever left any game early but I think the real tipping point was the game last month which was total garbage.  I still have a season ticket but hoping someone else will use it and I can't see me going to an away game for a long time.

It is not only mostly a WWI & II thing for me but also IMO a conscription thing. People called up with little choice, horribly maimed and sent home to see it out. I actually think of these people quite a bit, what it would be like etc. I wonder what they would say seeing all of this pathetic poppy point scoring now. For professional soldiers in the modern age I am not sure this appeal really applies anymore.

A guy at my work is in the TA and was telling me he had to turn down the chance to go skiing for 3 months at the Army's expense as he couldn't get the time off.  I am sure a lot of people join up with stuff like that in mind, with poppies used as a recruitment tool, and it is completely different to the conscription of WW1 and WW2.

Further investigations into the pre-match Armistice bits too.  Poppies on the big screens and advertising boards, giving out poppy t-shirts, the silence and the last post to name a few.  Surely that'd all be on the English FA though.

Should fine them for out of tune bugling

  12. I am also a zero (soon to be one) pointer these days but I used to go to a lot of away games and I only bothered getting a ticket for this because I had the train and hotel booked already.  I have a season ticket but have offered my remaining tickets to someone else.  I don't think it's any worse than most of the last 12 or 13 years I have been regularly going to games but it's certainly not getting any better.  It just seems a hassle going to games now whereas I used to look forward to it.

Can we drop shouty George Bowie into the Amazon jungle. When he is eaten alive the jingle will be perfect. Bits n Pieces of Bowie.

We have to put up with the tube claiming to be a Morton fan, so we get it twice.

I assume everyone got the 'tell us about your Hampden experience' pash, if we are going down the route of hiding our shortcomings by trying to think of ways to 'entertain' the fans besides actually playing some fitba just lock the gates now.

It was total pish.  If there is a survey to complete I'd love to know where so I can tell them so.

  14. I'm sure on that recent BBC series he admitted that he had got involved with it all initially then took a look at himself, realised he was being an idiot and stopped.  So fair play to him for realising the error of his ways there.  Of course he also realised the error of his ways when he was Hibs manager and had to call on all the players he had told were rubbish and could leave to save his bacon and keep them up.  We know how that ended up.

  15. Thought it was embarrassing that we had actually started playing at the end, scored a goal and had the ball back ready to kick off again with in seconds, but the DJ was more interested in justifying all the pre-game hype about what shite song we'd play by letting it run and run when the game had restarted.  Also dance remixes of the Proclaimers?  Come on, total pish!
