  1. My first memories of Scotland games are the Italia ‘90 campaign games at Hampden when I was 6/7 year old.

The old songs/chants of the day I remember:

    - Here we go, here we go, here we go 😆

    - Mo, Mo, Super Mo

    - Super Ally

    - We hate Jimmy Hill

    - We’ll walk a million miles

What other old songs pre-date that era?

  2. I applied for 2 tickets for each and every day of the group games. Went for a random mix covering everywhere from Munich in the south, up to Gelsenkirchen.

Didn’t try for anything in Berlin, Hamburg or Leipzig but will happily go there if Scotland end up playing at those venues. The west/south just seemed a bit more concentrated and appealing for games.

Had hoped we’d hear the ballot before now, but looks like tomorrow is the day!

I applied for 14 group games for the Euros in France, lowest price category & got none.

I’ve seen quite a lot of people say similar. I didn’t realise how lucky I was at the time to get both Hampden games for Euro2020 - albeit that I then lost them when they reduced capacity for Covid.

Aye. Applied for 10 matches on successive days. Hoping for at least 1 or 2 but wouldn’t be surprised if get none. Tens of Millions  applied

I did likewise. Bottom category, but with the option to accept one level above.

Not sure what to expect in terms of success rate. They’ve said 20m applications for 1.2m tickets, but unclear if the ‘20m’ equates to tickets rather than applications. If that were the case, there’d be a huge chunk of that number going for the Germany games, and the semi finals and final.

Saw a tweet earlier reminding us that even in the last days of her disastrous Premiership, Liz Truss, had the cojones to sack Braverman.

Is it just me or is this not quite astonishing to read from BBC.

How the hell do they have a journalist saying she is not necessarily wrong. Surely that’s not for them to say/judge? Am I reading to much into that or are is this type of commentary just giving her legitimacy.

Is there a phrase for double standards being doubled again?? The feeling that this woman is dying for something to happen is palpable. She even starts going on about Black Lives Matter ffs. These far right folk love conflating about 17 complex issues into one big accusation.

She’s now making comments every week that should be a sackable offence.

The fact that she’s not being brought under control just shows that it’s all endorsed by the leadership. A pretty worrying direction from the Tories to see this get continually more extreme.

I see the Daily Record are reporting that UEFA are capping tickets to competing nations FA's at 9,500 per game so the 16% of stadia capacity will not apply.

If this is the case it is swings and roundabouts. There will be less tickets than the 16% for sale in matches in:-

    Berlin, Dortmund and Munich

But actually more than the 16% for matches in:-

Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig and Suttgart.

I wonder if anyone has confirmation of this?

I’m sure 9,500 was mentioned by the French FFF.

Daily record might have just picked that up and ran with it. I suspect that they have but maybe someone else will know more detail.

  8. As if it’s not bad enough that companies are taking the pish with cost of living, fuel costs, etc. …

Went to M&S the other day. Didn’t have my ‘bag for life’ - usually do, but didn’t have on this occasion.

So I went looking for a plastic bag at the self-checkout. None. Only paper bags.

    Wait for it…

40 fucking pence. For a paper bag!

Now, I fully support the bag tax initiative by the government. I wouldn’t even criticise the ramping up of that price over recent years as I know personally that it has had the desired impact on my behaviour and 9/10 times I remember my shopping bag.

But how the fuck do they justify 40p for a paper bag?? It’s surely just being allowed to blatantly rip folk off.

  9. SNP seem to be taking a battering again currently about the Covid response enquiry and deleted WhatsApps.

Against the backdrop on what’s going on at WM, you can’t help but feel that it’s just a no win situation. Whatever messages did or didn’t exist is just going to piss folk off and feed a media frenzy.

Not everyone will agree, but Sturgeon and her government were largely applauded for the handling of covid. What we’re now seeing is the re-writing of history and the SNP not strong enough to battle against it.

I've seen them every Shedcember for about the last 12 years or so.  Didn't even realise they were playing last night!! 🙄

Aye, I hadn’t seen them for a few years. Is normally the Academy so was good to see them in the Barras for a change.

Not got anything lined up next but might try for OCS in Dec if any of my mates are going.

Thought I would try it because if I can do it anyone can . First hurdle was setting up a Microsoft account and establishing that I am indeed a human. That was a relief .

This is the first thing I got and I didnt even mention Orraloon. Its a bit basic but at least it worked.

Great efforts Tyder. 👏 I’m glad that my community outreach level 1 IT programme is getting off the ground. How do we get Ramy involved - I’m dying to see what AI makes or what’s in his head! 😁

Hopefully these high pointers who intend to only go to 1 game, only apply for 1 rather than all 3, leaving the other games to some of those on 10 points or below

Someone who had SSC issued tickets for Euro2020 will be able to tell you whether they were transferable or not.

    anyone?

Our group decided after Cyprus to book accommodation for the day before, during and after every group game location that we can cancel later depending on the draw. Split between a few people it isn't much of a task.

Gelsenkirchen and Dusseldorf were particularly expensive in terms of options, so had to get creative with location there. Thankfully those are in the general belt of host cities that are very close together.

The A&O and Meininger hotel chains are good budget options.

In terms of travel, keeping it quite flexible. Will likely be a variation of planes, trains and automobiles.

Wikipedia Group stage section lays out the exact dates and venues for each game.

How much on average would you say you are paying for a twin room?

  14. 1 hour ago, GroundsKeeper said:

Re cost, this isn't Qatar or USA/Canada/Mexico.

You'll never get a better opportunity to go and support Scotland than Germany 2024.

Even the next euros in england won't have the same atmosphere.

The Germans know how to hold a football tournament and if you get the opportunity to get tickets you will be there.

Folk even planning going over just for the fan parks.

Its going to be massive and relatively inexpensive if you use the campsites.

Is there any guide info on campsites?

Keen to see some info on proximity to cities, cost, transport links, etc.

If you're on over 12 points they must have been to at least one away game? Why would they do that and then not go to Germany? baffles me

Don’t underestimate the cost of Germany during a tournament for 10+ days.

A lot of folk simply won’t be able to afford to do 3 games.

  16. Who has decided on a base in Germany for the Euros?

    And where?

Have you picked a venue city, or an outlying town somewhere?

I’ve seen some mention booking in and around Düsseldorf given it is close to a cluster of stadiums. Still a fair distance to Berlin, Munich or Hamburg though!

Personally, I’ve not booked anything. You’ve as much chance ending up in a city surrounded by 20,000 English fans.

Do we know when the cut-off is likely to be?

I'm guessing after the March games which would bump me to 11 points (assuming we have a home game in March) which might be just under the required number. Circumstances dictate I am unlikely to get an away game in, if there were any, before then.

I think people expect tickets to be sold before then. Meaning cut off will be after the Nov fixtures.

  18. 16 minutes ago, GroundsKeeper said:

The issue we have is that IF the SFA get 16% of the stadiums, the SSC will not necessarily get 16%.

They don't have to tell us how many tickets they require.

Could be as much as 10% going to the SSC , we don't know.

Would be great if all 12 point got tickets and I don't want to be a party pooper but I would be very suprised of that was the case.

    Again its just my opinion.

If there were anyone keeping a keen eye on our euro2020 allocations, it would tell you how many of the 16% went to SSC allocations for Hampden and Wembley.

I think both were operating at 25%, so would be stadium capacity * 0.25 and then 16% of that.

    A question about the ballot....

I have applied for 3 tickets for a lot of matches.

Are you only successful if 3 tickets are allocated, or could they just allocate 1 ticket out of 3 requested?

I think for any successful allocations you get from then UEFA ballot that you get the number of tickets that you requested for the game.

Word of warning - I’m not sure if you have SSC points to qualify for tix? - but if you end up with tickets for another game that’s the day of a Scotland game, it will block you from then being able to get Scotland tickets.
