So after the 'more powers' idea that was hurriedly cobbled together and laughed at last week.... here comes Gordon Brown again with 3 days to go now trying again. Saying, well.... pretty much nothing.
1. A permanent role for Scotland in the evolution of the UK: - I thought we already had that??
The former prime minister has already argued that the UK is on course for major constitutional change even in the event of a No vote. He wants a guarantee that any future constitutional change will be made with Scotland's involvement. Some will fear that without such a guarantee, calls for more powers for England could be debated without Scotland being consulted.
2. A guarantee of fairness: - Is he suggesting that we're not being treated fairly now? Why are we not being treated fairly now? How are you going to make this measurable?
Gordon Brown wants politicians of all unionist parties to sign a statement that the aim of a "modern union" will be one that secures "security and opportunity for all" by "sharing equitably the resources of the nations and regions".
3. A guarantee that the Barnett formula will survive and Scotland will be able to raise taxes to protect spending on the NHS if necessary. - Ah, but we'll still just be given pocket money? So .... the priorities of the UK will dictate what we then get from what's left?

Usher Hall looks amazing!!!
What a night that'd have been!

Nick Robinson's behaviour on the BBC news was petty, immature and schoolboyesque......
Only a coward spouts his own self interested beliefs without the right of reply.
Has anyone heard the BBC say anything positive about Scotland being independent?
His animated and attacking demeanour was an embarrassment.
Any lasting thought of bbc impartiality is now completely gone. The mobilisation of the MSM and particularly the BBC has been appalling.

He was flapping around on BBC Scotland news at 6.30 as well.
Having an absolute nightmare.

I hate all this bollocks about abandoning the rest of the UK and them saying that the current discontent with the political system is no reason to vote for indy. Within that statement they are admitting that things are f*cked so they must also recognise that there is no political movement for change in the rUK.
Those people in Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester and God knows where else should be packing out town halls and marching the streets demanding change if they are so concerned with the current state of affairs. Then and only then will I listen to idiots such as Darling, Murphy and Geldof promoting this nonsense line that they continually push on us.

Whichever way you look at it, there are no winners from the adopted position on the currency union.
Despite the fact that there are a number of factors that are making the currency market jittery with Sterling (and I don't think the YouGov poll has realistically contributed that much to it at all) then there can only be a bad outcome for rUK, and to an extent Scotland. Outcome is that it weakens the £ through market perception/uncertainty then this is not good. If they refuse a CU then we walk away from debt and added to that the rUK takes a hit on Balance of Payments and loses approx. 9% revenue = not good. Despite the fact that we can use the £ regardless then this wouldn't be good for us to operate with a weakened currency against the euro, yen, dollar, etc. If we were to then decide to launch a Scots currency due to a weakened £ then this would be difficult as well as we'd be wanting to peg it to the pound to ensure stability of Scottish/rUK cross border trade and also have the transactions costs coming into play.
The more you look at it, the more ridiculous it seems that Westminster have put themselves in this position for political posturing. I'd expect a rapid turnaround on this issue after the vote before it even gets to the negotiating table - although in reality it will probably be dressed up in a manner to save face for the Westminster Gov.

The only way Dave will debate at this stage is if they have a particularly strong ace card to announce during the debate in an attempt to make a big bang that would be expected to put Yes on the back foot.
-
Is there any sort of strong or detailed rebuttal of this as yet?

Is this what it's come to? Posting about random people who may or may not be voting a particular way? Or is there a relevance to this person that I'm missing?
I think the point is that if he is resident in England then this is effectively electoral fraud that he is displaying very openly.

How common/uncommon is it for a maritime boundary to run horizontally from the point that 2 nations meet on land?
There was a pretty detailed rebuttal against Craig Murray's blog on the subject if I remember correctly when I've been googling about this in the past.

Also aware of someone living and working in Rochdale but registered at her parents up here so she has a vote and is voting No.

Is that up on the previous yougov poll for yes?
Keen to know that as well.
I'm fairly certain it would be. Are YouGov not traditionally the lowest polling %age for Yes??

We had 80-100 people at Yes Kelvin planning meeting last night for getting the vote out on Thursday.
I expect this is being replicated right across the country and our feet on the ground have compiled a wealth of information on our voter base over the last 2 years to ensure we now put this into action.
It's time to bring it home!
