Your bank/broadband/utility providers manage to successfully migrate to new systems without ever asking the customer 'to ensure your account is set-up correctly', and they have multiple more accounts to administer than the SSC.

Whoever is signing off on SSC customer communications these days needs their backside booted up and down Carmunnock Road.

Their decision to avoid any mention of the Netherlands game just smacks of almost fear to attract attention to the fact that they don’t have the answers.

Anyone working with a customer base (I work in IT) knows that it’s better to just issue an update periodically even if you don’t have the answer/solution yet.

All they’ve done is create umpteen people emailing them asking for information - for them to then have to respond. All because they just want to bury their heads in the sand. It’s mental.

Email for us all today with reference to match package for 2024 home games-No mention of Netherlands match-log in still down on SFA website-so I emailed SFA again just now they replied -‘Netherlands game will be announced in due course’

WTF, i mentioned Dutch FA have had tickets for sale for weeks & why SFA has not been pro-active in resolving this by now, that was ignored-really disappointed that it appears the effort in making arrangements to get to an away match, expense etc is not worthy of a better response

It’s incredible that they would send out that email update without even a paragraph section to say that Netherlands tickets will be announced in due course (as a bare minimum).

    Absolutely hopeless.

I went there some years ago. If I recall, it was the pick of locations to visit around Munich, for a weekend break. Like a mountain resort town, plenty to see and do. I couldn't swear it was big enough to host a tartan army's worth of footsoldiers/drinkers though...

Maybe the team are best left to concentrate on their fitba. 🤣

Might be nothing, but yesterday on Linkedin, the SFA kitman posted a presentation video of a deal the SFA have signed to get bespoke numbers and letters for using on the team kits (Scotland crest will be printed on the bottom of each number) and the thing that stood out was that the new numbers and letters were yellow, which made me think if we are getting a Euro 96 themed kit.

Would have thought we were tied to using adidas numbers?

I think, in this instance its difficult to blame the SFA, as it seems Dutch FA are dragging their feet, I emailed SFA & they they are still waiting on the Dutch FA decision of allocation number, all the same it is frustrating

Nah mate,  that’s too easy to let them off the hook.

There’s a list of things that need agreed to sign up to a friendly - potentially a contract agreement. The SFA are obviously just not prioritising this as part of their agreement/negotiations.

  6. There’s really no excuse for the SFA not forcing the issue to get this shit sorted quicker for friendlies.

I understand that the qualifiers are a different situation, but for friendlies this should be taken care of more or less as the fixture is announced. It’s ridiculous to have folk waiting 6 weeks out and not knowing what’s happening - especially for those on lower points who don’t know if they’ll get a ticket.

It just smacks of not giving a fuck about travelling fans.

Me and one other in my group have tickets for all the games via SFA. 4 More travelling with us don't have any tickets. Can we still buy 6 of the 29 euro train tickets for us all to travel with our 6 match tickets?

The info released suggests that if you buy the discounted DB rail tickets (which in theory anyone can), you will need to have a ‘Fan Pass’ in order for your DB rail tickets to be valid - assuming DB enforce that. From past experience, they can be stickler for the rules as I once had a run-in with a conductor for not having my payment card - as this was apparently required to be checked in order to validate my tickets.

Anyway - In order to get a ‘Fan Pass’ you need to have a match ticket. So with that in mind, the 4 without tickets wouldn’t qualify for the discounted tickets.

    Details here:

    https://www.uefa.com/euro2024/event-guide/ticket-holders/

    Good to know

    • Your train ticket is only valid with your EURO 2024 Fan Pass. All ticket holders will have access to a Fan Pass for free.
    • You will need to show your EURO 2024 Fan Pass when travelling on the train – just like a railcard.
    • The DB Ticket EURO 2024 is non-refundable.

This is actually a worry for me as I’ve lost a couple of phones before on Scotland trips.

What would be the procedure? Buy a new iPhone and download all apps again?

You would probably need to go to UEFA staff at the ground with some form of ID.

My understanding is that to register (or transfer) to a new phone, you first need to log out of the UEFA app on your existing phone. So in the scenario of a lost phone, you’re not able to do that.

You’re a star Alfie ,many thanks for that .

    Thats all very clear now.

No probs. Any other questions, just let me know.

The info on the seat61 rail blog site is very helpful as well.  I’ve done a fair bit of looking into it. Some other trains like TGV (if travelling via Paris have supplements).

Very much looking forward to our journey on the way out. Leaving Glasgow @ 6.30am and getting to Cologne @ 5.15pm (6.15CET) isn’t too bad at all. 🍺

I was originally going to travel back on the train as well, but by some miracle found a £70 flight back from Munich the day after the Hungary game.

Once you buy a Euro 24 Interrail Pass does that give you free travel from Edinburgh to Cologne and anywhere else in Germany ?
Or does it just entitle you to a discount on full price tickets ?

Yes, it gives you free travel - with a few caveats.

    We booked a 15-day pass.

We’re going Glasgow-London-Brussels-Cologne on day 1 (12th June). The Eurostar requires a supplement reservation €30 each way. Cross border trains into Germany also apparently have a mandatory seat reservation (€4.90) for our Brussels-Cologne leg.

After that, we can hop around as and when we choose.

Seat reservations may be advisable for the ICE trains, but not compulsory. Every journey you want a seat reservation is €4.90.  There’s no other charges, regardless of how expensive the tickets are currently selling for.

Just wondering if we can get free travel on the day of game from mannheim to cologne and back or do we need to book train tickets any help would be much appreciated

    Doesn’t look like it mate.

Mannheim is nowhere near the travel zones. A quick google suggests that it’s not even in the Frankfurt travel zone and that’s your closest host city from what I can see.

A part day trip sounds like a braw idea maybe on the Thursday, It looks like an hour by train from Munich. Does anyone know if there is anything there ? ie a pub or two !!! Me and my pal arrive on the Wednesday so if anyones up for it think wed go for it as long as we could get back for the Munich atmosphere mid to late afternoon. Could be a hoot.

I would guess the team will be in Munich on the Thursday to train on the pitch.

The issues noted on Trust Pilot are more centred around EPL clubs who probably don't have this type of transfer facility in place and they are relying on QR codes being sent out.

I'm only really needing one ticket and would like it to be in place and in mu UEFA app before I travel.

That makes sense as the reviews will be based on a whole mix of differing ticket systems. Some more secure than others.

In terms of wanting the peace of mind of the ticket in your app before you travel - the unfortunate thing is that nobody knows for certain when UEFA will release the tickets. Estimates range from days to weeks before the games. Until that happens, nobody can transfer anything.

  14. 3 hours ago, Lion Rampant said:

I take it that the tickets you have from Stub Hub are just a confirmation email from them at the moment?

My concern with them is the trustpilot reviews that are folk saying that they received a screen shot of the ticket and then this not working at the gate. This would be the case with the UEFA tickets as they need to be available in the app in my experience.

I can say from personal experience that if the seller on StubHub sent me a screenshot (and marked their tickets as delivered on the StubHub system), then I would know just to enter immediate dispute with StubHub.

The transfer mechanism for these tickets is built in to the UEFA app and once the seller puts in your email address and hits Transfer, the recipient/buyer needs to accept the tickets, at which point you will become the only person that sees/owns them. If anyone had used the Transfer feature on ticketmaster recently, it’s the same concept.

In short, anyone being sent a screenshot of a QR code for these tickets would be daft to go as far as trying to use it at a gate. They should have disputed it the moment they receive a QR code rather than an official ticket transfer via app.

Booked up to stay in Albufeira. Transport options limited to the stadium. I’ll be happy to explore the options for a minibus/bus return journey on match day.

Westa are running a bus I’m sure.

Came on to read this hoping for good news regarding Doak .
If Dykes is fit then he is in the squad. Aside of anything I liked the guy before his goal and assist against Norway. Never seen Scotland finish a game like that . Sealed Germany.

Totally agree. It’s clear that the support base is desperate for a saviour striker, but getting carried away about guys like Conway when he’s not even featured in Clarke’s plans to date is a bit out there.

Fair enough if Conway or maybe another couple of faces get a sniff in the March squad for Clarke to have a look, but it’ll take a lot break into his plans.

As for Dykes - I like the big guy and think he doesn’t get enough credit. As Scottish strikers go as well, his goal scoring record isn’t bad.

Does anyone know where our team will be based at in Germany during the tournament? I read from most nations where they will base themselves but not ourselves…

Announced on social media channels recently by the SFA.

Came back from 2 sets down in final👍

beat djok the cock in the semi.

    A German speaking Italian..from Tyrol.

    Disappointed I missed this yesterday.

Happy for Sinner. Seems a likeable lad. Apparently had a chance at skiing as well but I imagine he’s made the right choice and a fair bit more money in the tennis!!

Going to be an interesting next few years with Sinner, Alcaraz, Ruud, Rune and others jostling.

    In other news…

Murray with another disappointing R1 loss tonight to Paire in Montpellier at an ATP250 event. Doesn’t look good.

Long shot but wonder if they would do charter flights for travel on the day of each games?

I’m sure one of Wonky Sheep or Sport Options said that they’d looked at running single game trips and it ended up having to be an offering by Eurostar train for it to be economical.  So didn’t sound like it there was anything promising in terms of say trips.

I think that would be the companies to ask though if you want to check if they have anything in the pipeline.

Bonn is part of VRS (Verkehrsverbund Rhein Sieg) which covers only one host city = Cologne.

VRR (Verkehrsverbund Rhein Ruhr) is bordering VRS in the north and covers 3 host cities = Dusseldorf, Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund.

in addition to that, all networks of host cities guarantee you free ride on public local transport with match tickets.

@Reidster78 if staying in Bonn, your best option to get to Cologne (central station) is from Bonn central via Regional Train. Other option which is more time consuming is Line 16 or Line 18 trams, they also go from Bonn to Cologne.

Yes, but I was referring to the fact for Euro 2024 ticketholders, the VRS/VRR are being effectively combined to cover all 4 host cities (Cologne, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Dusseldorf).

  22. Surprised that our current shirts aren’t on sale yet.

I noticed the away kit is more or less sold out online, apart from one size, and very few in the JD stores I’ve been in recently.

They must be sufficiently low in stock of both variants that they’re not bothering to discount until the new kits appear.
