I think that's how it'll end up. Now all the other bidders have pulled out, the Jocks, Paddies and Taffs - who were brought on board for hauners when the going looked tougher - will be get ditched and England will do what they wanted to all along and host the thing themselves.

I’m not so sure. I think a huge part of this UK Bid is politically motivated.  Post-Brexit Britain and all that - also putting out an olive branch to ROI.

I think UK Gov will be determined to have a ‘4 nations approach’ (plus ROI) - even if it is token gestures to everyone outside England.

No fucking way would I accept that. IF England are handed one automatic spot, the SFA should pull out immediately. I am already annoyed that the SFA attached themselves to this nonsense but giving england the host spot would be a step too far.

Yep, I get the point and don’t imagine it can happen that way in the interests of equality.

My own preference would be that England just hosted the whole damn thing as others have said.

This idea will die a death as soon as the English say they get one of the host places regardless (and tbf 90%+ of the matches are in England anyway).

Would happily give england a place as they are essentially the hosts.

If there’s any competition to decide another place, it shouldn’t be made to be any more drawn out than the Nations League play-off approach.

4 teams drawn into 2 semi finals, with winners advancing to a final. Would be happy for the matches to be played in neutral venues in England to ensure 50/50 split of tickets.

Just wonder how many shirts are actually available for this ballot. The message said there would only be limited amounts of each size.So probably large and x large will sell out the quickest while if you take a small your chances of getting one will no doubt be higher. Don't know why they can't just pick the names and then match them up with their size. Surely it doesn't matter what sizes are sold in the ballot before they go on public sale. A sale is a sale to them.

I think it’s all about creating hype - and to that extent, they are playing a blinder.

  5. I wonder why Spain never seem to bid for anything. Haven’t hosted anything since WC 82?

Maybe a lot of the stadiums a bit too dated? With Bernabeu and Nou Camp getting done up, and new stadiums like Atletico you’d think it would be a great football country for a tournament again.

  6. What will be, will be. As the song goes.

Regardless of what is happening elsewhere - I’m just looking forward to England coming to town against a strong and confident Scotland team who will really fancy their chances, and a packed Hampden who have never had more belief in the team.

I might actually have a bit of respect for them if they had the baws to go into an election on the back of policies like reintroducing prescription charges and tuition fees - not because I think those are good ideas but because it would be a brave move for them to do so.

They won't though. They'll pledge to keep every popular policy the SNP had the nerve to introduce and claim them as their own bright ideas. The only thing that might stop them is if head office pulls rank on them.

It won’t go in their manifesto, but just watch them go gently to erode those policies gradually if/when the time comes.

There will always be significant enough financial pressures to try and justify any changes they make to align with UK policy. They can use the smokescreen that they have long been committed to increasing budget of councils, knowing that that will squeeze central budgets, and hand over power to labour, Tories, Libs councils up and down the country. It will aim to make Holyrood less signficant and absolutely suit the unionist agenda.

Wonky Sheep had a day trip.Out on the morning of the 12th and back early the 13th straight after the game.It sold out.

Cheers. I must’ve missed that one, or got confused. 😂

  9. I don’t think Wonky Sheep ever had a day trip for Spain?

Sport Options emailed the other day to say that the aircraft they had reserved was no longer available to return straight after the game. They looked for alternatives for a a return the following day but couldn’t get anything. So had to cancel the full thing.

Anyone know if they're releasing any more of these at any point?

Don’t think anyone knows for sure.  Some folk said they thought there would be more on lead up to England game but nothing concrete.

I personally would be amazed if SFA didn’t release a decent number of these after having created the hype.  There’s simply nothing to gain for them in having such a limited release.

I like Henman, he gives some good insight and comes across as a decent guy. Castle, on the other hand is a complete and utter wanker!

It beats me though why the BBC pay McEnroe so much money yet don’t use him for the final 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Cotter would have been better.
