I'm beginning to lose my calm watching it, Peter Snow is appalling.

I woke up to this today, a day I swore I'd keep off Facebook. Was greeting by 6.45am!
Sorry about that. I was still awake playing it on repeat before posting it in the wee sma oors.

Shared, but didn't get why it's called the Great Dictator speech.
Sharing the video last night without explaining the connection resulted in some misunderstandings over Hayman's delivery.
Here's Charlie.....

Brilliant! Who better than David Hayman to present such a powerful adaption.
Yes! Yes! Yes share this widely.

There's more passion in Tommy alone than the entire BT mob.

Cheers! Wish I'd been there.
It's just popped up on my FB page. It is indeed fantastic to the point of goosebumps but I can't get it saved to post here
Cheers Mcdange
The one I saw wasn't on youtube which I never find easy to embed on here.

Can anyone embed a video from Yes Scotland by Sam Langford taken of the crowd in Buchanan Street today. Lots of Yes supporters with flags singing Caledonia beside the Dewar statue. Fantastic!

Is Furry Boots some kind of a guessing game.
Easy one of mine.

I lasted 8 mins watching soor face. What does it take to make a man so bitter about his own country.

Certainly, basically I hate nationalism. I hate all the 'them' and 'us' stuff that this referendum has generated. I have friends from all over the UK and just hate the thought of us cutting ourselves off from the rest of Britain. I have always seen the home countries as like four brothers, all with distinct personalities, but with far more in common than differences. We get on each other's nerves, have fierce rivalries, make fun of each other, but, at the end of the day, we would stick up for each other if any of us were threatened. Sad that people want to throw that away. In addition, I don't believe a single word Alex Salmon and Nichola Sturgeon say. I truly believe they are more interested in Scotland becoming independent than Scotland being independent. As Salmond's biographer said, 'It's all about winning with Alex'. They will promise anything to get a Yes vote and have not demonstrated that they have a clear idea of how an independent Scotland would work in practice. It could genuinely be disastrous, and people need to think very carefully before they sign up for such an ill-thought through proposition. And no, I don't believe the statements coming out from the No campaign either but then I don't have to - I have lived in the union for nearly 50 years. I know what it's like. Is rule from Westminster perfect? Absolutely not. There are no end of ways we could improve things but I would rather see us attempt that than go down the independent route.
Not much point cherry-picking the worst points and turning the entire post bold.

Mull farmers say Yes!
Think I'll do the same with my wee lawn.

March! Seriously, if you're as lucky as I've been the weather can be mild and dry and of course no midges.
Only rained once and that was on arrival then the welcome rainbow appeared. The only downside being the mist covering Neist Point which I've yet to see in full vision.
Big plus is booking fabulous self catering accomodation* at half the price of the spring/summer rates.

The thread has to include the song....
-
No idea how chart topping works anymore but anything to promote a great song can only be good.
-
Good stuff Hope his message gets through to many in England to realise the importance of a YES vote.
-
Now I can repeat tunes from the original thread without anyone knowing.
It's taken a while for The Handsome Family to be recognized until HBO came along and plucked their song about a psychedelic plant.
I was happy not to share them but hey ho its a good one.

Why did it cost £200?
You may ask, although it was quoted at the time. How many council workers does it take to drive round the corner and tip a hat.

"Despite a poor showing in the second TV debate when he was bested by a belligerent Alex Salmond, partly because a feeble moderator lost all control of proceedings, Alistair Darling has done a good job as the leader of the Better Together campaign. He has undermined, even if he has not quite demolished, the economic case for independence, but in these final days he is no longer the most important figure. He speaks convincingly to and for middle-class Scotland, but he does not communicate so persuasively with working-class Labour voters.
The man who can do that, and is doing that, is Gordon Brown. Many in England dont perhaps realise just how respected and highly regarded Brown still is in Scotland. His reputation never sank here as it did in England, and many resented the treatment he was accorded by the London media. He has been campaigning hard and his resurgence has been one of the happiest and most welcome features of this years campaign. His new book, My Scotland, Our Britain, is very good indeed. A couple of months ago he was in splendid form impassioned, witty and humorous when promoting it at the Borders Book Festival where he got a rapturous reception from an audience mostly consisting of Liberal Democrat and Tory voters. Since then he has turned his attention to rallying the Labour Vote and persuading waverers to keep the faith and remain loyal to the Party and the Union."
Haha surely this is satire?
You'd think wouldn't you. There isn't one line that isn't up for scrutiny.
Written by Allan Massie who last month published a pamphlet 'Nevertheless' setting out his vision of Scotland's future.
Little snippet here arguing his case....
It is, for me, a matter of self-confidence. If you feel the lack of that, you will vote for independence.
If you feel confident of Scotland's ability to remain Scottish and prosper in the Union, you will agree that we are indeed Better Together and vote 'No'.
I am Scottish. Nevertheless, I am also British and value the Union with England, "our sister and ally", as [sir Walter] Scott called her.
Now that's not satire, to me just plain folly.

They don't mind the cone - it's independence they don't like.
Aye I know that, all the same did it not take them long enough to stop costing the tax payer £200 every time they removed each cone.

I did a fine elaboration on mine which added to the emotion.
Was doing polling duty when a lassie made up her mind to vote Yes after throwing a few questions at me. Felt good as she had previously been engaged in conversation with Adam Ingram.
