    What happened ?

I don't want to say on here. Sorry if that upsets anyone. It is more that situation than football that should see him go.

i know i bang the dickov drum but I'd actually like to give Mclesh another chance provided the players are all available.

That was one of the problems with the Kazhastan game.    too many call offs and not playing our strongest team.

McLeish is a big part of the reason the players pulled out. They witnessed his "deeply troubling episode" in San Marino so are unlikely to think he's the man to take the team forward.

  3. Hoping he gets sent packing or put on gardening leave tomorrow. Money talks to the SFA and they know tickets will not shift if he remains in post.

Clarke strongly dislikes the SFA and is highly unlikely to take the job if offered.

If there's a vacancy then I fully expect Scotland Gemmill to be appointed.

How is Phil Neville an example? He's only ever managed in Women's football.

he has coached in the men's game (assistant and caretaker).  other examples then are Corinne Diacre, Scott Booth or Shelley Kerr.

it works both ways - a success in one code may not enjoy the same levels in the other.  and vice versa is also true.

  5. Shelley Kerr has already managed a men's team.  And there are other examples of women managing male teams so it wouldn't be as trailblazing as some suggest.  there are very big differences in the approach to both forms of the game though so a successful manager in one may not be as successful in the other.  Take Phil Neville for one example.

I absolutely want McLeish to be a success but hearing him recently I'm surprised he passed an interview. On Friday he couldn't offer any suggestions of how he's improved as a manager (other than being older and more experienced) or any plans as to how he'd take us forward.

Of the three on the selection panel one is an old mate who chaired his testimonial committee and another is responsible for managerial masterstroke appointments such as Pat Fenlon,  Terry Butcher and Colin Calderwood.

As for any personal issues we'll see if anything comes out but he has a lot of cheerleaders in the media who will keep it on the QT. I know what I know and will leave it at that.

a bit of time on my hands and just revisiting the abuse i got from a few on here (Texas Pete and Caledonian Craig especially) when i pointed out that McLeish wasn't fit for purpose.

  7. funnily enough the next home match will be one of the most appealing (date wise) for supporters as it's a Saturday night so no rush for most fans to get back home.  unless you work Sundays which is unfortunate.

OP - there are only two professional bodies now.  SFA and SPFL (merger of SFL and SPL I recall).

I think Petrie's appointment as chair gives us one of the best opportunities for change for years.  so far as I know he has very few supporters in the press or from football fans, coupled with the fact that he knows very little about football.

it could be that we are thanking the SFA succession policy for once.

Looking like tickets will be sold out by Monday, leaving hundreds who have booked up  pretty frustrated. We have about 20 going in our 3  groups,  about half havent got enough points for a ticket.

I don't blame the SFA but think they have underestimated numbers going,  perhaps they should have spotted that Davy had almost

30 buses booked  even before tickets came out and I think another 5 going from Bologna.

Shouldn't be a problem however as the stadium holds 6500 and has never been full, typically only a few hundred locals turn  out

    to matches.

Northern Ireland  got an additional allocation when they played there so the SFA is bound to have an option on additional tickets,

the last thing they will want are lots of ticketless supporters outside the ground .

Stadium actually holds 4776 is what I'm led to believe. The 6500 capacity is supposedly when the East and West temporary stands are erected.

In any case it's unlikely that the Sammirense will shift 1500 home tickets.

Anyone able to shed light on the differences in category?? This place is hardly a major tournament venue...

my understanding is that we have the entire South Stand.  Cat 1 tickets in this stand are under cover.  Cat 3 tickets in this stand are not.

we also have parts of the North Stand.  we have Cat 1 and Cat 2 tickets in this one.  don't know if they're covered or not or if they are at the ends or in the middle.

I went in 2014 and got my visa through an agency which cut out a lot of the hassle so I'd recommend that for the minimal additional expense.

Didn't have to submit a fingerprint at that time so that must be new.

Fingerprinting is now a requirement so visa applications have to be done in person.  This means that each applicant has to attend the visa centre.  UK visa centres are in Edinburgh, London and Manchester.

The reason that fingerprints are required is because that is what the UK requires Russian nationals to do for getting in and Russia decided to do likewise.
