Oh great another "Ye should only play fur Scotland if yir born in Scotland !" fanatic. :worried:

That article was from when he was fifteen years old. He's been committed to us for a few years now.

Actually he hasn't been committed to us for a few years, its only this season he's started representing Scotland , he's never been in a Scotland squad before which is a little suspicious given his obvious eligibility and considering our standards are not exactly high. Therefore its legitimate to conclude, given his having been on England's radar at least,  he was waiting for an England cap that never came and realised its actually easier to get in to the senior Scotland squad than England under-19 team.

He was actually born in Scotland so that's not the point, its the fact that we're apparently second choice as usual. I don't know if he even has a scottish bloodline, he was brought up in Melton Mowbray and may have just been dropped in Kirkcaldy whilst parents were working there or otherwise temporarily in residence. Its not about birthplace for me  - I don't consider Maloney Malaysian for instance, its about where you grow up, where your parents are from, who you support and what you identify as first and foremost and Burke's reluctance to represent us before now makes me doubt he really identifies as Scottish.

Matt Ritchie is refreshing - a Scotland player with a bit of bottle and intelligence.

Oh, and to those sad, pathetic cünts on twitter a few weeks ago who were sending abuse to young Oliver Burke such as "your not Scottish", "who the fück are you ?", "you don't deserve a call up" - GIRFUY ya wänks !

Yeah shame his first choice didn't work out. Life can be cruel sometimes but sometimes you gotta make compromises.

I genuinely think that might be the strongest U21 squad I've seen in a while, if not ever.

There are standout players at SPL level throughout the team, and the midfield looks superb.

God, it really is the hope that kills you!

I see out greatest under-21 team of all time just lost 2-0 to France, so another tournament qualification we are already eliminated from. Just the 28 goal attempts to our 2 though............just as well Martial and Coman were with the senior squad.

I think to consider that midfield 'superb' you must have a highly optimistic perception on the standard of football played in the SPL to say the least

  4. He has been injured since he signed and only getting game time a fitness. He would walk into the Brighton side if he was fully fit and probably be one of their better players.

He's been fit and playing regularly since October for the Brighton under-21 team, playing in 10 successive games and scoring in only two of them.

On this basis you are saying he would be one of Brighton's better senior players and should be playing international football?

Or is it just on the basis that he was with Real Madrid?

  5. Seriously ?

Oh right Russia Today the propoganda mouthpiece of that great champion of democracy Valimir Putin.

That network is beyond hilarious and right up there with Saddam Hussain's PR man Comical Ali and Mel Gibson as purveyors of BS to the world's population.

RT has been shamelessly banging the drum for the YES party (much like this forum) of course, given they would like nothing more than to see one of their main adversaries torn apart and militarily and politically debilitated as it makes the whole business of Russia bullying its neighbours and trying to make Europe subservient to their will that bit easier.

Its kind of like a barometer, much like Alex Salmond's smarmy gob , if you are ever seeking wisdom and enlightenment on political issues just listen to the prevailing opinion its spouts out relentlessly and you can be pretty sure that the exact opposite will be the truth.

  6. The above says a lot about your politics if you think the UK is that

Would we even have been allowed self-determination if it wasn't? There's plenty of minorities and regions in Europe alone that would love just to have the chance to vote for their national identity.

A shame respect for democracy doesn't work the other way in terms of respecting the outcome of the democratic process without whingeing, wailing, throwing tantrums and crying 'but its not fair I can't have my way' like so many spoilt wee bairns.

  7. Braveheart? Check

    Nationalists? Check

    Salmond? Check

Full house unionist talks nonsense bingo

As opposed to the undiluted wisdom of the doctrine of archaic lefty 1970's politics, imaginary corruption , bottomless pits of oil treasure (and the Shetlands not being able to secede and thus deprive us of anyway) and preaching about creating a free, fair , democratic and prosperous country when you are actually trying to dismantle one - as espoused by the the indy crowd.

As for Pol Pot at least the prick meant well, he couldnt help being crazy as a shithouse rat.

Salmond I don't think truly believes in any ethos , just gets all his pleasure from getting up the noses of anyone that doesnt share his insular, backward little outlook on the world and he would be no less of an embaressment in representing Scotland to the international community than Mr Pot was to Cambodia.

  8. One minute you're trolling about Aberdeen voting No, the next you're trolling about how Yes voting areas "saved" us?

If you're going to troll, at least be consistent.

Actually the faction of Aberdonian society that hijacked the TA some time ago and claims to speak for the nation but doesnt even speak for its own crappy little corner of it

To be fair i think that's a plot of a DC comic introducing the Amazonya super-hero as opposed to an actual serious commentary of South American politics in the aftermath of British and American led coups against left wing governments during the cold-war.

It's also starting the story in the middle, but if you don't know the start or the end where else can one start?

ok FARC, the Shining Path etc youd think they would only exist in comics though

How can they be demogogic when they actually exist? Just write within yourself instead of trying to appear intelligent by using words you're not quite competent enough to use in context yet. Otherwise you're the literary equivalent of the young girl with make-up all over her face and her maw shoes on. Sure we'll indulge you due to your status, but jesus christ you look a mess.

a demagogue being one who preaches populist but ill conceived policies to appeal to the uneducated mob for the sake of personal aggrandisement with no true concern or awareness for the long term good of the nation

Be good for his own self-worth if he learned to differentiate Alec Salmond from Alex Salmond as well.

2 c**ts for the price of one

  9. He comes from Carluke though i see where there were numerous UJ's on show in the lead up to the referendum.

Wish they would just be honest & admit why they really voted No instead of ludicrous comments on a guy that has

    Frozen council tax

    Abolished prescription charges

    Abolished tuition fees

    Protected spending on the NHS

Increased Doctors, Nurses & Dentists in the NHS

Increased payments for free personal and nursing care

    Abolished NHS car parking charges

    Expanded free nursery education

    Extended free school meals

    Retained free travel for pensioners

    Pol Pot ?

Just a few little demagogic sweeteners before he got his grubby hands on some real power so the reign of terror could truly begin.

Fortunately those of us from more civilised communities such as mine have saved you from yourselves. So how about some more gratitude and less whining on here.

  10. Can't say I noticed a lot of this intelligence, dignity and friendliness amongst the local Yes campaign among the suddenly politically enlightened folks of Wishaw.

This nationalistic sermon I've been hearing so much of the last half a year from the Yessies out there sounds much like the manifesto's of those anachronistic revolutionary 'armies' that have been pestering South American countries the last few decades with their preaching about how they want to create a fair and just society which just happens to involve taking money for themselves off those members of society that happen to possess more than them and of which the majority of the country are entirely fed up with and wish they would leave them alone to get on with their lives.

Its easy to invent a vision of a utopian society much like the Khmer Rouge did in Cambodia and just say we'll leave the details of exactly how we're going to make this happen to after the revolution (just substitute invented projected oil revenues for invented projected rice harvests which will make everyone universally prosperous and happy of course) Personally I'd rather have Pol Pot as a leader than Alec Salmond though.

What I'd like to know is will the highly vocal ,obnoxious, self-righteous and holier-than-thou contingent of the Tartan Army comprised by the idealistic folk of Aberdeenshire that believe they are ever so much more patriotically Scottish than the rest of us perhaps be slinking away in shame now that their own kinsfolk have so emphatically rejected the prospect of an independent Scotland?

  11. The union flag burning the night before didn't happen. A no voter copied it from a stock image and posted it on Facebook. The picture was taken in Tehran in 2011. And thanks for the lesson in hand gestures, now I know it was a red hand and not a nazi salute that makes it ok then. Seriously this has got to be another wind up!

Yeah I'm sure the Times correspondent on the scene would have invented their report based on someone's doctored image from Facebook. Sorry if it doesnt fit with your narrative.

All this outrage on here comes from which side of the debate the protaganists were on far more than the actions themselves.

If the boot had been on the other foot you'd have been busy refuting any of it happened or blaming the other side for it all.

  12. To be honest, things were reasonably OK on here until the loyalist scumbags...and let's face it, they were Rangers fans....decided to have their wee party on Friday night.

Given that quite a few of the No supporters on here just happen to be loyalist Rangers fans...and their lack of condemnation has been telling....it's hardly surprising there's been a reaction.

This isn't a Rangers thing (I actually support an SPL club) but I think what happened on Friday was pretty tame when you consider the gravity of what was at stake. The streets have been swamped for weeks with inyourface tribal and antagonistic Yes backers with all their paraphernalia and after having their empty message shoved down your throat day in day out ,after the relief of the final vote (to the majority of us) you do want to let off some steam and shout from the rooftops that salvation has come.

Some individuals went too far but I can understand the passions inflamed in them. As far as the flagburning goes, the same thing happened to the Union flag in the very same place the day before and the Nazi salute thing, excuse me for my possible naivety but wasn't that the Ulster hand 'no surrender' gesture?

Nobody needed to have got hurt though , we're all scottish together just as we were all before and will continue to be regardless of the outcome so lets stop dividing ourselves, democracy has spoken so give it some dignified respect and lets go on living in peace and stop this fratricidal shit.

  13. No are obliged to have a massive chip on your shoulder, an Aberdeen fc club badge tattoed on your arse (and now be inking 45 on to the other cheek even though it was really 44.7%) and be prepared to fellate Alec Salmond on command to venture an opinion on this forum as otherwise it will challenge deeply entrenched prejudices.

Welcome to the new North Korea that independence would have unleashed upon us.

  14. Not seen any percentages but I saw a tweet that listed the following (dont know how accurate it is)

Kennoway, Methihill, Methil, Buckhaven, Wemyss's, Leven;s schemes, Paisley, Irvine, Saltcoats, Ardrossan & Arran, Croy, Condorrat, Cumbernauld Village, Banton, Kilsyth, Queenzieburn, Lochaber, Clydebank, Airdrie, Motherwell, Dundee, Glasgow, Coatbridge, Shotts, High Valleyfield, Oakley, Denny, Dunnipace, Fankerton, Fraserburgh, Cowdenbeath, Kelty, Hurlford, Stranraer, Inverness, Skye and Lochalsh, Lennoxtown, Rosyth, Twechar and Tain

Holy shit we have some grim urban areas in this countrylooking at that ..........I would desire a sharp shift in reality certainly if I dwelled in any of those particular communities I think. Cumbernauld's my personal favourite little slice of paradise.

  15. If you want a News channel that paints reality the way you want to see it look not further than Vladimir Putin's propaganda mouthpiece Russia Today whose editorial viewpoint on the independence debate and democratic outlook ties in nicely with those who contribute to most of the political discourse on this forum.

Tune in channel 135 I think on freeview it will make many of you feel warm and fuzzy inside no doubt.

    Down with the imperialist pigs!

  16. So is Dundee the new cradle of scottish patriotism? Is it the spirit of Bannockburn crying out in their hearts or is it possibly just a case of a dismal, squalid, wretched and socially blighted piece of urban wreckage crying out for someone to put it out of its collective misery?

If they want to dream that Dundee will be any less of a shytehole under Alex Salmond's governance than it is under David Cameron then far be it from me to try and shatter their delusions but I'm not going to swallow the fiction of some kind of highminded patriotic idealism on the part of Scotland's bleakest little corner.

They deserve our pity but admiration doesn't come in to it.
