Have you tried the CEDR site?

I was shafted by BA on 3 separate occasions last year and was messed about trying to get money from them. Used CEDR and I have had my compensation etc resolved for the first 2 and am now just waiting on the 3rd one getting sorted.

Takes a bit of time but worth it I'm the end.

I haven't Dezmondo. I hadn't even heard of these folk. Thank you for taking the time to inform me of them. I used some website that specializes in airline disputes. After a number of months I got an email from somebody called Ricky at easyjet saying he had looked at my case and apologized for the carry on. Said he would refund £880 in cash and the rest in vouchers. I refused to accept the vouchers and we went back into this ding dong shit about whats you original flight booking number. I think it was just a ploy to get the arbitration outfit off their back.

No I just know it's reputation from Giros and the rivalry between Coppi and Bartali.

I'm more of a camping gear on the back of the tourer kind of rider.  Usually do one bike tour a year around a Scotland game.  Last years was a hot one - Madrid to Seville.  Pity the order of the Cologne/Stuttgart games hadn't been reversed as that would have set up a great straight run.

I've a mate I occasionally bike with, Chiz Roberts, At the euros in france he biked between Scotlands venues, said never again. Sometimes he had 300 mile to bike between games, said he got pissed off knowing his mates were all on the sauce while he was biking hammer and tongs just to make a game 🤣

  3. One to watch this season, Laurence Pithie. His Dad is from Arbroath, the family emigrated to NZ a few years ago. He turned professional last year and rides for Groupama.

Had some impressive results in the Tour Down Under a few weeks ago and won the UCI Cadel Evans Classic. He will be over in Europe soon to ride the Belgian Classics, then Paris/Nice and after that the Giro de Italia.

Nice to see some Scottish Blood in the Pro Peleton again.

  4. Easy jet are a shower of cunts too. Took £240 in vouchers during Covid thinking I was helping them out by letting them keep my loot. Used them to book a flight to London for the Scotland England game but still had to fork out another £300 on top of the vouchers.

Then they cancelled that flight. So now I have £540 in vouchers. Sent the Mrs and daughters to London for the Chelsea flower show, forked out another £410 and used the vouchers. They cancelled that while they were sitting in the departure lounge, said it was an IT fault and could not rebook them on another flight. Cue a mad dash to the train station and another £360 in rail fares.  so now they are due me £1300 and I said no more vouchers, I want the cash back.

They said we need the flight number and voucher code from your original flight back in the Covid time before we can reimburse you. I told them I cant give you that because I had to delete that email address after you had your data breach. So they said without that flight number and voucher code we cant reimburse you.

2 years later I've still not got a penny out of them. I hate they cunts.

Taking the bike, so a ride over to Ulm after the Germany game and a ride down the Rhine to Mainz from Cologne after that game.  Trains will take me to Cologne and Stuttgart from Ulm and Mainz.  Hoping for a good long bike ride to Berlin (never been) for the last 16 game (or better still, the final).  Would need to jump a train to complete that though.  Toom much camping gear for The Stelvio!

I did wonder about the Rhine too, A bimble along a river without too much climbing, stopping off in wee toons for a Beer or two sounds idylic.

Have you done Stelvio? I mind last June there was still snow at the top....

I believe there is a Mercedes museum too.

The Porsche Factory (Zuffenhusen) is across the road from the museum, its well worth a tour as well. Believe it or not they have vending machines where the workers can buy a can of beer whilst building the cars!

Rothenburg is probably the most beautiful German town I've ever seen

I see that the main fan zone is up at the old Olympic Park but don’t imagine the 10k with match tickets will be heading there.

Where are folk likely to congregate in the city over the course of the day? I’m sure ever bar, bier Keller and Biergarten will be rammed. What about city squares? Marienplatz??

Marienplatz would be the obvious choice but to throw something else in the mix, I'm guessing a lot of TA will arrive on Trains, there's a big square (with fountains) called the Karlsplatz at the Hopbahnhof (main train station)

It wouldn't be so bad if we were actually paying any of the debt back but we aren't. We are only paying back the interest.

The debt just gets bigger and bigger every day. The debt is increasing by about £5000 per second. Yes, per second.

This gives us some idea about how fast the debt is growing.

I was in America in the run up to the referendum. I picked up a copy of an American finance magazine and read it on the flight home. Inside it was an article on the referendum and the finances of Scotland, and how she would become a very wealthy country on becoming Independent.

The article spoke at length about how Scotland had never contributed to the debt of the UK apart from a couple of years in the 80's and had a surplus in its economy for the last 30 years. It also said that in a court of law Scotland would walk away from the debt the rUK because it had never contributed to it.

I've always believed this is the real reason Westminister is so keen to keep a grip of us.

It's still Scottish taxes that has to pay back "our share" of that borrowing plus interest.

So, Westminister uses our taxes to pay for stuff in England and in return we get paid back from Barnett.

Curious....if the UK is in so much debt that we have to borrow on international  markets who pays this?

Is Barnett a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul?   Is Westminister borrowing money to pay us back and we end up paying for whats been borrowed?

I'm planning of staying there for the first week of the Euros.

  15. Thru the Eurotunnel on the morning of the 13th and drive straight to Heidelberg. Staying there for a week, Train at 9am straight to Munich on the 14th. There's a train back to Heidelberg after midnight.
