Why Do some on here refer to the standard of the women’s game? whats the standard got to do with anything?

Some standard of Mens  football is pish too so I don’t really get this point. It’s not as if the women are trying to compare themselves to the men. I sometimes walk over to the local park and wtach the pub league, it’s fitba and can be entertaining. A game of fitba doesn’t need 22 highly paid men to be good. Any level can be good.

one of the best games I’ve ever seen was a highland league match.

the women’s game has its own market and good on them I say.

Spot on exactly what has the standard got to do with it, if it was about standard alone no cunt would watch the men or Scottish lower league, amateur, or junior football at all, one thi g you do find is girls that care, that want to play for their club that have passion for the game and to play for the county means something, all the haters to me are short sighted and stuck in the past, if they had a girl who played for Scotland I'm sure they would feel slightly different.

Well I hope they get a great support as the effort they put in to get there was amazing expecialy that come back in Poland when you see the girls celebrating like they did you know how much it means to them.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if a few think about it and go then I bet they have a great time drink footy and a big tournament. sounds good to me.

    Woman's football is absolutely horseshit.

There's a lassie at my work who plays with Glasgow - I've joined her and a few of her team mates to play 5s at Glasgow Green in/around them training during the winter and I'm as good and if not better than them.  That's me who hasn't played regular football for over 10 years.

And I'm also not really that much of a player, an athlete etc etc. It's good they've qualified

However, any one really interested in going are likely one of the old 10 pointers who have grouse feathers and are chuggers 👍

Aye nae bother your so correct that nailed it for me not, I'm sure they invite you to play because your opinion of them is so good.

    It's staggering that it's a professional sport

Still can't work out how that's come about

Glasgow who have won the womans league 10 years in a row get 50 fans at their home games

It's not at all as bad as your making out sir apart from Scotland and some other low population countries stuck in the past its catching on crowds are on the up and in England a lot o money is being invested in the womans game, the girls take it serious and have some better attitudes to being professional than the men.

I wish the men would take some of the attributes the women have and aplly it to there own game and I'm sure you may get a Scotland mens team that really know what it means to play for their country, I watched the last women's World Cup finals and enjoyed it, yes there is not the same quality as the mens game, but you do get commitment and some of the teams and girls will surprise you, I like to watch a team that gives a shit to play for Scotland and to be honest in men's football a few could not care less.

Hope you enjoyed watching our men last night sir great eh

  4. Players need confidence and last night knocked that.

Nation feeling down again about state of our game, questions already being asked of the manager, I believe in giving any manger time to do what they can but for all the doubters last night gives ammo, strikers starved of real chances, midfield unable to press opposition, unable to deal with being harried when on ball no ideas, defence easily ripped apart.

We gave them to much respect and they knew it and also took advantage, they made the game look easy as we watched them pass it around the park, I want to see a Scotland team that will get in the faces of other players as soon as they are on the ball, show some fight and spirit to make up for the lack of ability, no matter who we play it should be like that, passion pride and commitment players determined to get on the ball and put there head first.

Players should be doing this for the country no matter who is the manager no matter if its a friendly or a qualification game its your country.

The women do it why can't the men

I don’t normally defend the SFA but they didn’t have many options for opposition last night.

All other League C and D teams are in groups of 4 which means we either had to play a League A or B team (and around half of them were playing Nations League games on Thursday, Friday or today so weren’t available) or play a country from outside UEFA, which can be difficult.

Whilst it would have been better to play a team similar to Albania last night, it shouldn’t make too much of a difference. We quite often play a very good team 3 days before a mediocre one in qualifying.

The players should be able to adapt.

I'm sure there are other options out there than Belgium and Portugal, hands up if your looking forward to a pumping of Portugal Scotland, its not good waking up with no clear view of where we are.

What was the point in that last night other than what was kind of expected.

  6. Why when we are a team in so called transition are we playing Belgium and Portugal in friendly matches.

Not good at all for confidence and national morale, we need to play against teams lower level than we are then build it up, gain momentum confidence and a slightly better feel good factor than what we're getting, our strikers are starved of chances midfield chasing shadow not getting much of the ball and our defence self belief will only get worse this is nonsense and makes absolutely no sense to me please get a grip your killing my seance of enthusiasm for what lies ahead

  7. I like many others hope the future is bright, I agree about the potential in our youth however we say the same thing every year, but nothing ever comes of it, we are missing something somewhere, God knows why or what, maybe someone will find out what that is and we can transition the youth in a way where they keep improving to world class standard which transfers to the national team as well as the clubs, we miss some self belief that we're not good enough to take on the best, watching the game last night belge passed the ball about as we stood off them yet when we had the ball we had no clue as what to do when they shut us down, it's 11 talented men vs 11 but giving any team the space and respect that we gave them last nite just shows weekness and they take advantage, we may not be as skillful as other teams but shape commitment, closing down and some determination off the ball to win it would at least be better than what I seen

The finals draw is on the 8th December with the tournament kicking off in Paris on the 7th of June. I can’t see any direct flights from GLA/EDI to France on Skyscanner though. I was thinking of making a bit of a family holiday out of it, i’ll decided nearer the time

Hope we draw some Scandinavians as I'd love to mix with them :)

No chance. They've done very well, but come on ... cue debate on wummins football 🙄.

Have you ever watched wummins football? It's worse than watching the men, and if you just want something Scottish to succeed, away and party when murray snr plays in a mixed doubles game.

Let's hope you don't have a dougter that ends up playing for Scotland eh she won't get f all praise from you. In fact that attitude is why she would not play football as she would never be any good sir.

  10. Cool pall your not invited, still bet they would run rings round you always a negative one, and to be honest with you some o the skill on show is not too bad at all for competitive football, it's improving and so is the fan base and media coverage, what I do love is that they all give a fuck no call offs with excuses, great togetherness and play with a seance o pride when playing for the country the way it used to be for the men before the greed took over and clubs dictated, and yes the women would be the same if all things were on par bit they are not and they really give there all, try watching some without prejudice, look at the comeback vs Poland look at some clips of the players being interviewed and what it means to them to play for scotland, watch some you tube clips of some great goals scored by talented women who have to work and also dedicate there time to the sport they love, and as for tennis no your OK pall I love football.

  11. It won't happen but would be a good thing if a few thousand TA went through to France to cheer the girls on, treat it like we do with our men's teams go there have a party and shock the world, just imagine a few thousand TA cheering the girls on and the fun we could have at a major tournament I forget what that is like, respect to the team and they deserve a good following they have more determination and passion to play for the country than a lot of their male counterparts, joy to see them celebrating the success and some real good players in there also.
