  1. Yeah I think it’s time for that change. Although Robertson does play far better as a left back than a wing back.

tierney is more aggressive from full back than robertson.

let’s just have a go at the faroes.

  2. For once I’d love Scotland just to have a go at teams and put out a positive attacking team. I’m sick of watching us being negative against poor opposition. It’s happened for too many years. Why are we so scared to have a go?!

  3. We don’t even look like we want to win. As soon as we scored we took our foot off the gas. We actually started the 2nd half very well but seemed happy for it to be a draw.

    where is the ambition!

is still don’t know what our game plan is counter attack, possession game, defensive??? We need an identity and game plan moving forward, let’s start introducing some young players in to the squad for the bench fillers and start to look to the future.
    be progressive!!

  4. Dreadful stuff. No composure, no effort and no heart!!

Right Steve please be bold and make some big changes at half time change the system and players. Don’t wait until 70 mins when it’s almost over

  5. If we had to pick a B team right now. Who would you play. I’m going for a mix of potential and no/few caps.

                             Kelly/McCrorie

    Rooney.     Kerr.       Rose.         Hickey

                     Gilmour.    Gauld

                               Turnbull.

    S.Dembele.                                 Johnston.

                               Nisbit.

    Other potential

    Patterson

    mcIntyre

    Welsh

    Doig

    McCrore

    porteous

    Campbell

    L. Henderson

    Ferguson

    S.Kelly

    Hardie

    Watt

    McKay

    S.Wright

    Hornby

    shankland

  6. This Scotland team is such a difficult one to pick as there are quite a few good option but the balance is not quite right.

our 532 or 352 is a little defensive as our wingbacks are not offensive enough. Robbo is much better as full back where the game is front of him and he can run on to it.

O’Donnell has done ok tbh but does offer anything attacking wise.  I would like to see us try Fraser there again or switch to a 4321 and play similar set up to Rangers.

our best players are all midfielders or number 10’s. This would let us control the game a bit more with an extra midfielder whilst still having a goal threat from the 10’s

    I’d go

                        Marshall

    O’Donnell Hendry McKenna Robertson

         McTominay McGregor McGinn

             Christie         Armstrong

                          Dykes

    if playing 532

                         Marshall

          Gallagher Hendry Tierney

    fraser             Mcgregor.          Robertson
                 McTominay.    Mcginn

               Christie

                                 Dykes

  7. He actually plays quite well even if he is fairly limited. Tbh he probably plays better than robbo as a wing back. Robbo is much mure suited to full back where he can run on to the ball.

i would be tempted to throw in Fraser at RWB to inject more pace and attacking threat at we are too defensive.

  8. Ryan Duncan Aberdeen apparent well thought of and only 16 I think.

i would still throw Jason Kerr in to mix I think he’s 23 but for me, way better than Ryan Porteous.

Robbie Ure the striker at Rangers

Dire Mebude winger for Man City

Josh Adam midfielder at Man City

  9. Just wondering what potential youth stars people expect to see emerging in next few years.
any players at your clubs you think will be a star.

    for me:

    mikey Johnston

    billy Gilmour

    stephen Kelly

    Lewis Ferguson

    Fraser Hornby

    Aaron Hickey

    ryan Porteous

    Jason kerr

    David Turnbull

If a defender or any player can't make a 5 yard pass from defence into Midfield they shouldn't be playing football. I'm not sure what you are wanting here? You want us to play through Midfield but want our centre halves to spread the passes? Just ask the centre halves to give the ball to the Midfield you don't have to be Beckenbauer to do that! And we certainly don't have a Beckenbauer to call on so let the defence do what they are good at. We literally don't have anyone in defence capable of playing the way you see Man City play on the telly. Apart from maybe Tierney... But you don't want him in there either even though he was excellent there against Holland in a friendly. If he has Gallagher or McKenna beside him they can deal with most things in the air and let Tierney sweep up behind them. Tierney reads the play brilliantly, a great tackler, can bring the ball out from the back and has pace... A defence with pace allows our team to push higher up the pitch which allows our best players to press the play like they prefer to do at their clubs

What I would like is for our midfield not to have to drop in to defence to play the simple 5 yard pass because you can see that they don’t trust our defenders. It’s like playing with 10 men!
I agree some of the players we have picked in recent years Hanley and mcKenna struggle making a 5 yard pass. The point is their team mates no that and automatically drop deeper because the are worried about their next pass. This then leads to the midfield being deeper and then no support to the striker. If we can play a ball playing centre back or at least someone who is comfortable then it allows us to dictate the play in midfield where our best players are.
i never mentioned Man City. I just want someone who has a little composure and that doesn’t frighten the life in to the other players and the fans when they receive the ball.
We actually have good footballers but it’s no good if we can’t give them the ball in the right areas.
Tierney is a super player but the boy’s a left back, at a push he can do a job in 3 but  I wouldn’t shoe horn him atm.

We just need Defenders that can defend first and foremost and Mulgrew has been the worst culprit of not doing the basics right over the last year or so. Gallagher has near enough played himself into the team for the play offs just by looking better and more composed than a very shaky McKenna, although he did improve last night. I would personally go with Tierney and one of McKenna and Gallagher at the Centre half.

                               Marshall

    Palmer   Gallagher    Tierney   Robertson

                  McTominay   McGregor

    Christie               McGinn            Forrest

                               Naismith

Nah totally disagree tbh. We have got good footballers in midfield what’s the point if we can’t find them with a pass. I hate watching us be negative!
if we play long ball, who’s gonna hold it up, none of our strikers have any stature.
plus Tierney in a back 4 is a no go, who’s winning headers?

Mulgrew is finished. Steve Clarke plays with a back 4.

Agreed he’s not brilliant but we need someone comfortable on the ball for me.
it adds to us being more positive going forward we need start playing on the front foot.

  13. Or

                          Marshall

              Souttar mulgrew. Tierney

    Fraser              Jack.                  Robertson.

                   Mcginn.      Mcgregor

                            Christie

                            Griffiths.

  14. I’d go

                           Marshall

    Palmer    Souttar.  Mulgrew.   Robertson.

                              Jack

                 Mcginn.       McTomminay.

    christie.                                          Fraser.

                                 Griffiths.

  15. Problem we have at centre half is our centre backs are not that comfortable on the ball, this means everyone drops too deep. Jack and McGregor last night had to take the ball off McKenna. This then leads to too many people behind the ball meaning we don’t have enough options in front of the play.
we really need centre backs with more composure.
