I know this seems a bit of a throwback but why don't the SFA try to get Alex Ferguson to take the manager's job for the next World Cup campaign? It isn't anything like a full-time post so he could put into it just as much time as he thinks it needs and he might just be interested in doing this in his "retirement". He is certainly still fit and able and what a boost it would give the players and the supporters.
