  1. Thanks to those who've posted, including those who were considering the idea but have left the way clear for the Sunshine Appeal to take the lead on this :ok:

I've created a dedicated thread in the Charities section and have noted the interests from those on this topic - any new notes of interest, can you PLEASE post on this thread

    HERE

    Thanks Paul

  2. DEDICATED THREAD TO POST ANY NEW NOTES OF INTEREST

As we begin to look forward to brighter days with some hot places to visit in 2015 including Tbilisi, Faro and maybe even Dublin and Hampden giving us some sunny days as well ................ With all this sunshine, that we’re not used to and never mind any holidays you’ll be enjoying in the future, surely a must have purchase for any Scotland fan, with the added feel good factor of the profits going to the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal ....... would be a Scotland bucket Hat

So its for this reason I'd like to draw your attention to the opportunity to purchase some TASA (Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal) Scotland Bucket Hats ....... design is being confirmed and we’ll share this shortly but in the meantime, anyone interested, please leave your note of interest on this thread

(I've noted those from the original thread, but for any others, please use this dedicate thread to post any notes of interest)

    Thanks in advance :ok:

  3. Hi everyone ....... not looking to step on anyones toes on this but we (Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal) are currently investigating based on a couple of designs.

We have been looking at this over the last couple of months, however there is a minimum production run depending on the intricately of the design.

We are happy to share the design if that helps but most suggestions to date follow the ideas we have but would would ask for an indication of potential orders before we would commit to a production run

    Thoughts everyone

Are you happy to support TASA being those who'd supply the Bucket Hats and without you making a non-binding commitment, how many would think of ordering one?

Thanks in advance of your views

  4. Thanks for replies. Never really expect to sleep much if at all on overnight trips but at least lying down makes you feel you`ve rested a bit. On a train, you can snore yourself or not be bothered by snorers but on a bus that`ll be different. High price of Gold suggests people pay it for some reason. Hopefully I`ll get a day bus but will consider Gold if not possible. Maybe for another thread but is UK the only country in the world where there are no trains (except Eurostar and maybe Strathclyde trains on Boxing Day) on 25th and 26th December? One excuse is maintenance work but when do they do that in other countries?

We booked ours the day they went on sale and found the price was less than the seated service

  5. John, to be honest, lying down is the only advantage I'd say over a seated coach

We used it after the Georgia match down to Birmingham - its ok but not great

Depending on which bunk you're allocated, you might feel a bit claustrophobic - on one side of the walkway is 2 single bunks above each other - they're fine

On the other side its 2 singles on the bottom with one single above - if you're in the lower single, there's no much of a clearance between you and the bunk above, whereas the other has masses of clearance between you and the roof! Temperature and noise wise, it was fine.

When you get on, they'll offer you a bottle of water and a prepacked cake

As I say, its ok and probably still beats a seated option but if you can get comfy in a seat, then maybe that's the one which better suits?

    Paul

  6. DeeRus train up to Warsaw...... me and Gothenburg83 making it with minutes to spare..... Stewart_Aberdeen, Cove and DeeRus (plus his dad!!!!) running up the platform as the train starts to pull away and just making it.

Sing-song all the way up :sing:

Did we make it ........ yes or no ?

Probably nearer no than yes eh but learning a new song was a bonus ?

Thanks again for arranging the Sunday night and yes you were a tad Lady Gaga ?

  7. Getting back to the OP

Unfortunate circumstances meant the trip was cancelled ………….. however the timelines suggest it was possible to sell on the travel elements and the match ticket but not enough time to advise/return the ticket to the SSC??

    • When caught – they then lied and said they were going to the game.
    • At this point they were asked to make themselves known to the SSC whilst over there
    • Results in a warning due to a no show

If you take the unfortunate personal circumstances out of the equation, doesn't this make the circumstances as follows:

    • Not going and sold on the travel and match ticket (knowing resale of the match ticket is against the rules)
    • SSC finds out and the OP tells them they are going
    • SSC asks them to see them in Dortmund
    • No show equals a warning, based on them not making contact ‘face to face’

Based on the latter, what’s the issue with the SSC?

If you separate the personal circumstances from the warning, its pretty clear there’s a discrepancy between the timelines – they had enough time to sell on, which would have been the same/less as to contact the SSC.

The SSC don’t appear to know of the personal circumstances until after the event but as the OP is has lied, why would the SSC act differently?

For the record, I've also been "called" by the SSC as it was me who posted the test link to the Wembley tickets, which resulted in them getting bad press cause of these who'd 'bought' a ticket before the link went live. At the next game (I'd requested pick up) as soon as I handed over my card, I got the ... so YOU'RE *************** and since then, I've been a marked man (but in a good way ............. I think!)

  8. Anybody remember what tram goes past Stodola?

Tam, the stop closest is "Biblioteka Narodowa" and there's loads of lines that use that stop

    Trams from this station, 1, 9, 15, 17, 25, 26, 31, 33, 37, 41
The Metro stop is called "Pole Mokotowskie" and its the M1 line
For anyone not sure, here's the transport link
We got a taxi from just near our hotel (Gromada Centrum) and I think it cost under a tenner for the 4 of us (If it wasn't a tenner, its wasn't much more tbh!)
  9. Can take metro/train or Tram.... word of warning with the tram, where it drops you off, you can either go left or right to get to the away section..... though going right looks the fasted way, it took us forever to get around the stadium, and going left would have taken us straight to the away area section of the stadium.

Exactly the same happened with us - we'd asked the police and stewards and got no where, so like you, took what looked like the quickest way round ................ ended up cutting over the grass round the other side but seemed to be walking forever!

    :yikes3:

  10. We got a decent place via booking.com

If you use the app (I'm using Android) you can book for September 2015 as the Web one is only till August 2015

I've booked 2 twins and an apartment (for the 8 of us) with breakfast in the old town for just over £800 for 4 nights

  11. I had a look at prices last night. Thought £335 from Glasgow - Amsterdam - kiev - Tbilisi and back was very good.

Now that was leaving on the Weds till Sunday. Which again thought was ok.

Hotels personally speaking were expensive especially for 4 nights. £600 plus other ridiculous quotes. Will keep searching for cheaper hotels and see what i can come up with.

I've booked my lot 3 rooms (for 8 of us its 2 twins and an apartment that sleeps 5) in a decently rated hotel, incl breakfast and the total for the 4 nights is about £830

I booked via booking.com - if you use the app (I'm on Android) you can book September, whereas the web based version is only till August :ok:

  12. I get where you're coming from but outside of my immediate group and/or those I know, I'd not be broaching the politician subject.

Its too raw and as I say, outside of my group, I'd not know how others have voted and how strongly they feel about it ............... best staying clear of the whole thing I'd say!

  13. For the first one, I took a half day off work (Perth) and flew from Edinburgh

Got the 15.50 flight out and the 06.30 I think it was the following morning (we had a room at the airport hotel)

Actually got into work earlier that I would normally have been in at!
