  1. Dont want Ireland to win as I live in Dublin and cant be bothered listening to their nonsense for the next couple of weeks and during the tournament.

However there is no denying that they deserve to be in the playoffs over us due to results against Germany (even if their anti-football style is honking and players are a gang of nobodies)

  2. Was at the Poland match the other month....i think there were around 7/8k of them there in the home end, maybe more. They were in Polish gear and I didnt see any trouble around the stadium.

Also most of the turnstiles are digital unmanned where you scan your ticket, so even if they werent allowing scotland fans in home end I wouldn't be worried

  3. FAO Donegal Lad

Four of us are staying at Avalon House Hostels. Any bars near there you recommend?

Get yourself up along baggott street, its the other side of Stephens Green from where you are staying. Pubs are great and its busy, Toners is a favourite of mine! massive smoking area.

Or go up Camden street, again wall to wall with bars, more of an evening/night drink type of place with these bars.

  4. We are not arriving until lunchtime on the Saturday so by time we get in from airport and checked into hotel it will likely to be about 1.30ish. My thoughts was just to jump a taxi and head up to a bar near the ground. From looking on Google maps there seems to be about 4 roundabout the Bath Avenue area on the way to the away end.

    Slatterys

The Chop House (looks like a restaurant but I am sure I had a couple of pints outside it on the night of the Ireland Aviva Cup game before heading back into town)

    The Old Spot

    The Bath Pub

How busy do they get on match day? Any of the above recommended/not recommended? Or anything else roundabout that area recommended? Just looking for something for a couple of hours drinking, get served well enough and a short walk to ground.

slatterys and the bath are great boozers, they will probably be jammers though. another shout is to go to the other side of the aviva...paddy cullen's mary mac's the horsehoe tavern etc. all two minutes from the stadium and will probably be slightly quieter as theres more space outside to drink
