Don't the FAI still select Northern Irish players who want to play for them even if they aren't eligable through normal FIFA rules. But it doesn't work the other way around. Northern Ireland can't select players from the Republic outside normal elegibility.

Alex Bruce - born in England , declared for Ireland and capped in friendlies but now plays for Northern Ireland LOL !!!
