Going to be a really tough tie for us, not fussed by a few on here hoping we lose, we are there on merit and if you take 4 points off the world champs then who can argue it especially when your own boys took 0. Home leg second is massive, keep it tight first leg and we will have a chance.

All ties were gonna be tough, didn't fancy us going to Ukraine as it's very intimidating, swedes have zlatan and Hungary would have been our best we could have hoped for, having said all that away to Bosnia first then bring them back to Dublin, if we Nick a goal in first leg then we will have a good chance but it is going to be really tough but hopefully we can do it. -

Cheers for that, am reasonably happy with that draw, won't be easy but they won't fancy coming to Dublin either with a full house, gonna be tight and hope we can nick it. -
Can't argue with that at all.
-
We put ourselves there by beating Germany at home, drawing away and Georgia away and if we win tonight we will put ourselves in 2nd and deservedly so based on all of those results, the scots put us where we are, laughable!
-
Who said anything about world beaters? Christ the shite being posted here is petty and ridiculous, next you're gonna say we think we'll win the euros ffs! Anyone Scottish who wouldn't swap positions with us regardless of what football we play is lying or just an idiot. Maybe you should stop trying to play good football with your limited bunch and learn from us who are similar and quite limited yet can affective, just an idea instead of slating us!
-
But why would we wish bad on another nation? If anyone would be to blame we would have said Martin for his at times bizarre team selections but somehow they have got us this far, genuinely I don't know anyone that would wish bad on the scots had we failed to achieve 2nd/3rd, I was hoping both of us could have made up those spots and not the Poles.
-
If we didn't make the top 3 in this group we wouldn't be blaming anyone but ourselves, we have been below par on many occasion in this group but somehow managed to scrape 2nd3rd(luck of the Irish eh?) I wouldn't be wishing bad on another nation if we failed that is for sure, least of all the scots who I thoroughly enjoyed being in your group for the 2 games and the fans I met along the way.
-
Some of the bitterness from you lot in here is pathetic, we are only guaranteed a playoff yet you're wishing bad on us because you don't like our style of football, jesus wept.
-
Polish fans were mixed in with the Irish support in Dublin in June and they were a pain in the hole(mouthy and people looking for fights around the place) while it's disappointing to read the stuff on this thread it certainly isn't surprising, I don't mind away support mixed in but respect the people who are around you and there is no issue.
-
Ireland are? We are hard to beat and it's not pretty for sure but I'm sure you would swap positions with us for the sake of playing good football or not, I know which one I would choose, like I said already 2 very average teams and something had to give, we happened to get results against the top seed which you lot failed to do and beat Georgia away which you lot failed to do, small margins at the end of the day and I can see why Scotland fans are sick cos we are a very average side but you're no better than that yourselves.
-
Fully agree with the poster above we were dirt against Scotland in both games and in others during the campaign. We also got some last minute goals such as McGeady away to Georgia and O'Shea away to Germany which when you are an average side like we are then you need this sort of luck. We were very fortunate to get a draw against Scotland in Dublin also but we were always gonna need some luck, Scotland didn't get as much as us maybe and in the end we have finished above you lot. Make no mistake there is very little between Scotland and Ireland and I still can't believe we lost 4 points to you lot yet took 4 points off the world champs. I really hope Scotland make a major tournament soon, your fans are top drawer and I know we aren't there yet but hopefully we can finish off the job tomorrow night. All the best lads.
-
Who are the 2? McCarthy had his first decent game for us last night, McGeady is one of the most frustrating players to ever put on the green shirt.
-
The genuine fans whom I have spoke to on here and in Glasgow and Dublin were top top drawer, I have read some awful shite about us too and to those Scottish fans you are the laughing stock not us, we have what you craved all campaign, guaranteed 3rd place with 2nd up for grabs with 1 game to go. Hope to cross paths with Scotland again as on the whole I think you lot are brilliant fans.
-
where are the posters that said Brown was better than McCarthy? Absolutely outstanding last night against the world champions.

Duo Ticket Information
Irishandproud replied to SheepieTartanArmy's topic in Republic of Ireland v Scotland
I know loads of irish lads not bothering with this game, doubt you'll get rid of your ticket for this game tbh, a meaningless friendly with both sides putting out reserve teams the week before an important qualifier and KO 1pm, sounds rubbish! -
Ireland End Tks

West or east stand mate? West stand better for getting in pre game, East stand will be where all the scots will be entering also, but sure you lot will be probably everywhere! -

There are loads of watering holes such as gasworks, Slatterys, Berkley court hotel, beggars bush, becky Morgan's, Bath pub and also pubs on baggot St(15min walk or so down to Aviva maybe 20) trust me when I say you won't be long trying to find a pub! -
Never thought of that but its a fair shout, he was dirt last night and like many other nights too
