The board was just put in place to chat about how the board could be saved (at the time it looked like it was going to be closing) and moved forward.  I invited members who had shown interest in keeping it going, mainly to make sure there was a platform in place to chat in case this forum stopped with immediate effect. 

The intention of the new board was never to create a splinter group, just a place for discussion on keeping the current board running. 

The hope was only to keep the TA Message board going and fortunately it looks like that is going to happen.

Well, whoever it is, it is not me.  I had an agreement in place to move the forum over to my server but was then told yesterday it would not be happening as financial backing had been found.

Good luck to whoever takes it forward. It is a very simple process and one that I would have been more than happy to run, and run well.  I was very fortunate to have a good core of people that I have no doubt would have helped move the community in a positive direction.

Just an update on the situation with respect to closure. 

I am still waiting to have a conversation with the current admin of the board, although I have been told this will be forthcoming.

Myself and a number of members have had very positive chats about taking the board forward.  These chats have been happening within a forum (same software as this) that I created on the same server that I would be hosting the current board.  Everything should be in place for a straight forward transfer of the forum if and when required.  In my mind, there is absolutely no reason that this board should come to an end and the worst scenario (which I would hope wouldn't happen as I believe continuity is best) is that we now have a forum in place to move over to if it does. 

Please note that this is just an update from my side and for all I know admin could be in communications with many other people with respect to taking the board on.   The aim of this message is one of positivity, to say that we can/will still have a platform come November the 2nd.  It is a little frustrating still reading threads about closure when there is no reason for it to happen and potentially turning new members away in the process.

The people running this board are clearly pissed off at something but it is not yours to throw away, you are custodians of it and to announce its death in a closed thread is astonishing. Look at the response. The board has problems but is loved by many and many who are offering help. Where is the dialogue? The appeal for help before committing suicide? Ohhh I did not get that message, I did not see that post... 

Indeed, I am 100% serious. No funny business here. Having run the Fife Football Forum for years I enjoy reading and running a forum. Admin have my email address and phone number so hopefully they can make contact at some time.

Haha, nope, as an TAMBER living in the states now, this has been a great resource to me over the years........as I am sure it has been for many.  Fortunately, I have the ability to keep it going so it is a no-brainer.

I have made contact with admin, just waiting to hear back.  Ideally the current forum can just be moved. That would be the most simple thing to do, however, I will happily create a platform for all the people that still want to keep a message board going.

I would be more than happy to keep the board up and running. I have the server and software already so it would be a simple transition. Having run a small forum since 2001 (fifefootball.co.uk/forums) I am very familiar with the invision software.

Although I am now based in the US (Arizona), I am still a travel club member and continue to make a couple of games a year................will be back again in November for the play-offs ;-)

I have reached out to admin to hear their thoughts.
