Once again to reiterate - the prosecution based their case on the fact that the woman was drunk and unable to give consent as opposed to Evans having sex with her against her will. In this case he was found guilty of rape whereas his mate was not found guilty. So if she was unable to give consent to Evans - was she able to give consent to his mate before Evans?
How many people who are drunk and cop off with someone who is unable to give consent can actually recognise that a fellow drunk is unable to give consent.
I realise that I wasnt present in the courtroom - but just because a guilty verdict is returned doesn't men to say that is the truth. Gerrard was found not guilty despite significant video evidence - Ken Dodd found not guilty of tax evasion?????
On one occasion in the last few years - I went out on a date - both of us got pissed - ended up back at hers - due to alcohol consumed I was unable to have sex with the woman in question - but I was under the impression that she was consenting. Next day she actually thought we had actually had sex even though we hadn't - she was too pissed to know any better and I was only slightly less pissed but could remember. On the basis of Evans conviction then if I had actually had sex with the woman then she would have every right to have claimed rape. Just look at these programs in Ibiza, Cyprus where loads of youngsters are pissed and sh*gging right left and centre without consent - as dictated by this case.
Therefore I'm not willing to condemn Evans in the same way I would have done if he had sex with a woman against her will.
Hey leave Stevie G and Doddy out of this they are NOT GUILTY unlike Evans.

The court passed a sentence, he's been released after a portion of it - presumably because of good behaviour, so nothing unusual there - and even although he's trying to rebuild his career, he's subjected to social vigilantism beyond the scope of the law.
Not acceptable in my view.
He did the crime (allegedly) and he's done the time.
Let the boy move on and rebuild.
Move on and rebuild i agree to an extent and people come out of prison and have to do something especially being able to earn a few quid.
But the crime you committed can limit what options are available, as stated a peodo would not get a job working with kids even if it wasn't a court restriction ie the sex offenders register and the same could be said for many crimes and if these could be connected with a job.
Though there has been widespread condemnation from fans and sponsors about allowing Evans to join a certain club so what.
If you had a kid at a school wnd you found out the school was taking on a peodo of some sort, then i dont think parents would be to happy and would remove their child from the school in mention.
Thats all fans and sponsors have done to Evans but on a bigger scale.
He is a lucky man to have only done a short time for an horrendous crime, he is also not like many who come of prison who dont have a pot to piss in or anywere to live.
So Evans go and rebuild your life not a problem with that but maybe picking sprouts out of a field for 12 hours a day, i am sure you will get minimum wages but so does half of the country and they manage to live.

If a school teacher was convicted of something like downloading childporn, jot locked up come out would he get a job in a school again.
If a bank worker was done for robbing did his time would he get a job working in a bank again.
If footballers are deemed as role models then why give him a job playing footy, he can go and get a job as a hod carrier or working in the fields picking crops, why should he have the right to play footy again. If he is eventually cleared then fair enough but at present, he is a convicted rapist and so what if he is unable to earn shitloads of money doing what he wants to do.
He is actually quite lucky as if it was my sister he raped then he wouldn't be able to play footy again.

Me bro in laws dad has got it along with dementia he is 61, he is a boss wall tiler and did my kitchen only a few months ago, he is still shithot but watching him struggle when putting the odd tile on the wall is gut renching
No illness is nice especiailly the life threatening ones but seeing dementia / Parkinsons / MS is just as cruel...

Giggs ain't comparable anyway. Scholes and Lampard are though. There isn't much between Lampard and Gerrard IMO. There is between the two of them and Scholes.
What age are you out of interest mate? I've seen a few guys saying he is the second best Liverpool player ever. I'm wondering if it's because they didn't watch the great Liverpool sides of the 70's and 80's. It's sometimes quite easy not to consider those lads if someone hasn't actually seen them whilst still accepting that Dalglish is the best as that is what is widely considered to be true.
My old man is a big fan of Liverpool and rates Hughes and Souness higher than Gerrard. What would your thoughts be in that?

So watched my team for close on 40 years seen all the best players over that time, before Gerrard, Souness would have been the best midfielder we had and he played in some midfield along with Mcdermot Kennedy Case and had Kenny and Rushie in front of him with Hansen and Lawrenson behind him.
Stevie has had nothing like that yet still dragged us out of the mire on many occasions.

Being serious for a minute, what criteria are you using to claim Gerrard the best british midfielder ever? Other than being a Liverpool player.
Lampard scored a lot more goals
Giggs a lot more assists and games
Scholes are more technically gifted player
Could go on and that's without mentioning honours.
For what's it's worth I thought Gerrard was an exceptional Liverpool player and was their main player for most of his career. Can't think of many so influential for one team over such a long period of time.
In saying that the media reaction to him leaving has been laughably OTT

My opinion is that he is the best midfielder from Britain with his all round play and leadership qualities.
You quote stats about Giggs / Scholes and Fat Frank fair enough but unless you combine all 3 into one player then IMO they don't come close.
You could throw Beckham into that list because he could cross a ball better than anyone.
I might be thick as pigpoo but i am fully aware there is a love hate relationship for Stevie G on this board especially from those, who have posted about Gerrard but can only mention / Scous c..nts / a two footed tackle / Alledged assault / and a joke about some local gangster who tried to bully Gerrard and is now locked up for 8 years after getting a slap.
