  1. I would also guess animal rights activists are television and film fans who don't bother that horses are used in that form of entertainment in dangerous scenes and evidently (going by that link) the horses don't get the same treatment from vets etc.

I don't drink PG Tips if that is what your asking. :ok:

Don't like animals used for entertainment like a circus or as above the PG tips advert with the chimps.

Will open a can of worms here " excuse the pun " but would ban all animal experiments used to assist the cosmetic industry, and would rather use humans than animals for medical research.

Not all humans just the ones that are not welcome into society and cost the tax payer a fortune to feed and water and provide a bed, child killers, peodophiles most muderers and, even the odd Scouser if he fits the bill...

  2. Scouse Eddie I will only address your original point and give you some facts to chew over as you sound like an animal rights activist.

First, as someone else has pointed out those race horses are treated like royalty - they are loved, cherished and treated like superstars by their owners, trainers, stable lads and everyone connected with them. Evidence of that was winning trainer Oliver Sherwood yesterday who was concerned more for the well-being of his horse rather than doing a post-race winner's interview. Second, these horses and the thousands of other race horses involved in the sport - if horse racing was banned are you honestly trying to tell me they'd have as good a life as they have now? Of course bloody not so think on. No horse racing, no real ownership, no trainers, no trainers stables, no stable lads and lasses and so I'd grant you we'd be seeing these horses rotting in a dishevelled field unkept and on an advert appealing for aid for animals. And so on to those self-righteous do-gooder the animal rights activists - they got their way meddling with the fences at Aintree but they have made the race statistically more dangerous by their meddling so they are actually worse than those in the sport themselves.

In years gone by yes i may have been an animal rights activist stopping / sabbing fox hunts and also have a claim to fame of delaying the last ever Waterloo Cup to be staged, that is hare coursing to those who don't know.

I eat most meats so not a vegan etc.

My wifes sister lives on a farm and has loads of horses mainly highlands and competes in shows and won at Olympia a couple of years ago, maybe if her horses misbehave then they get a slap, i have a german shepherd and training in personal protection, if he misbehaves then he gets corrected.

Some pets need correcting every now and then and i love my dog.

The point about horse racing and especially the grand national is the punishment these horses get every single race, they may get the best food well groomed and have a nice stable, but every single race they are getting whipped.to push them that extra step for what money for their trainer and owner.

My stance against animal cruelty is not at the level of standing outside Aintree waving a placard, but would be quite happy if the whips were taking away.

  3. Huge match for both teams.

United playing really well lately and LVG seems to have got the basics of the team coming together.

City having a bit of a time lately and looks like trouble in the camp with certain senior players.

Saying that, it all counts for nothing on derby day and reckon unless United come out the traps like they did against Liverpool, then a draw looks like the outcome.

Aguero to score but Rooney and Mata to seal a 2-1 home win.

Will never wish for a united win, but for us to get 4th then City are looking the weakest and easier to catch.

Hoping for a 1 0 to City with united getting a load of red cards, injuries " not bad ones just a month or so out " and then UEFA investigate them to find De Maria and Falcao was a dodgy deal and you get relagated as a punishment. Carlsberg :ok:

  4. you tried to troll, the boy made a chunt of you, then you make a chunt of yourself. Gonna ask me for a fight? You're got previous

I made a staement about whipping horses and how it is cruel, i get a reply connecting my statement to Heysel, was there any need for that and qyuite rightly i think its sad connecting the two, only a khunt would connect them so hey sad khunt springs to mine.

No need to fight anyone as quite used to some on here and i would never pick on a sad boy.

However i go to most Scotland games i am sure my accent may stand out in a crowd of TA,so easy to spot and always open to a debate away from the keyboard. :ok:

  5. shouldn't really laugh but that's the best come back iv ever witnessed on here

Aye thats funny connecting the deaths of 39 people to whipping a horse.

FTR and have posted before i was at Heysel and know what happened running battles and a wall collapsed getting funny yet, a few on here will also be the ones who believed the establishment and media about what happened at Hillsborough, then 3 years ago you all had to eat your own shite.

Still funny you sad khunt :ok:

  6. The fighting was childish.

(All children go to heaven btw.)

A song about Jesus rising from the grave on Resurrection Sunday?

The song would be relevant to the day/occasion.

Scotty i agree with most of your posts and beliefs, however when you quote all children go to heaven, at what age are we no longer children, just asking as a couple of days ago, watched the repeat on them 2 little scumbags Venables and Thompson who murdered Jamie Bulger and they were aged 9 i think.

  7. Got a kings charles cavalier well ok it's really the burds, also got a long hairded 3 year old german shepherd, he is still a bit dog agressive at times, great at agility and obedience but soft as shite when my niece and nephew play with him.

Hopefully in a few months a new addition arrives a Belgian Malonois.

Think Jock Strap is more of an expert on the larger breeds than me :ok: .

  8. Any one around Saturday night

Myself and a few boys from Stockport / Preston arriving Saturday afternoon if you fancy meeting up for a bevvy, i am sure you know Tam Ritchie he is the organiser so we are all doomed. :-))

  9. If only they had a system that got them to arrive on time, have enough carriages and heating that worked.

Blame the tories. I actually work for the biggest train operator in Britain we run more trains than anyone and roughly 94% of our services arrive within 5 minutes of their booked arrival time.

Considering the age of the units we run i would say we do a pretty good job.

However not being an expert on customer service and i don't work for Scotrail but to those who are unhappy if for example you travel Edinburgh to Glasgow daily and arrive within 5 minutes of your booked time then i suggest you get a bus or drive. :ok:

  10. This must be a new system as nothing stopped a runaway train ending up on large main street

Hunchy it depends the location of the points are and if for example it was going over the bridge leading into Glasgow Central, then unluckily as all lines lead onto the buffers then it;s to late.

If it was a runaway a mile before then maybe itcould have been diverted away from the lines leading directly to the station even if it meant derailing the train.

I did state it was only on rare occasions and in certain locations this could happen..

  11. what about getting on a train, bus, friends car ? Sharing the road with other drivers who might feel the same way...

Regarding trains there are safety systems built in to stop a train for example travelling to fast towards a buffer a red signal or a junction/ curve, however these systems can be isolated by the train driver so wouldn't work.

The only safeguard and quite a rare one is if you had a runaway train then the signaller and depending what route the train is travelling on could divert the train by operating a set of points

So to all you lovely fare paying customers who travel by train you can all sleep well, if you are a fare dodger then you are not insured so tough. :-)) .
