  1. People go on about his passing ability......last few games for Scotland all I remember about his attempt at long range passing was the ball going out for s throw in!

I was on the fence mate. I really was.

I watch Paterson every second week and going forward he is cracking. He can also score. Defensively - hot and cold.

Decent point around no fear with young players and no memories of failure.

With the state of our CB's, 3-5-2 maybe an option.  I'm at the stage now where I believe barring a miracle we'll lose, I'd rather lose with young players learning their game against better players than the same old failures.

  3. I think a mixture of both but would go with youth over experience imo.  Our players are experienced in bottling big games and failure, I'd give the future the chance to play and the experience of this game will help them develop.

I respect your opinion and see what you mean but play Hutton?...

Would it be worth a wild gamble (if Strachan leaves or is sacked) to appoint Deigo Maradona? Any 'normal' manager will need the rest of this campaign to build a squad and playing style but a character like Maradona may just be able to pull off a miracle before blowing up. ?

You currently have the crown for the most ridiculous suggestion haha :)

  5. Suppose for some could have been with the Euros being in France, easy to get to and around then the next 3 tournaments are Russia, different places in Europe, Qatar.  Yes as long as we qualify it doesn't matter where it is but some who could prob afford a game or two in France won't be able to travel to the next few so the excitement isn't as high as IF we got to any they'll be watching on telly rather than being there.

Or the 8 or 9 consecutive failures and the shambles of the SFA bound to eventually put most off.

My "Tipping Point" when it came was actually something pretty small and simple..

2006 Qualifiers - after all the usual huffing and puffing, and appearing to have no chance, got good result away to Norway and all of a sudden, if we beat Belarus at Hampden and other results go our way we could make playoffs..

After arguing with mates on way to Hampden as they were more interested in going for "1 more pint" or a carry out than getting to the game, arrived about 15 mins late to find we were already 1-0 down...

About 20 mins to go, after about an hour of the usual insipid dross and fear any "must win" game brings, the Scotland Centre half had ball on edge of box in front of West Stand I was in, played a straight forward ball out to the right back whom under no pressure whatsoever totally miscontrolled the perfectly weighted pass and let it run out for a throw in to Belarus..

Something in my head went "Enough", I go up, walked out and haven't been back to a game since.

Found talking to folks over the years, quite a few folk have had similar scenarios in that in the end it was something pretty minor that was their own "tipping point" after putting up with so much dross

I remember that game.  Never been back in 10 years?  Ever been tempted?

It's an old Scots word. You must be one of the jeans wearing scum if you don't know it ya sassenach. Or my fat fat fingers meant to type keich. Ha !  no fat fingers, just the mac predict rubbish.

Keich = shite, heard of keich not ketch though.  Really if you going to presume and insult you should really spell correctly would carry more weight!  It's a game of football not a fashion show, don't have to be in a kilt, glengarry with badges and a suit jacket to show how much of a fan you are.  Sad that adults are so judgmental.

Good. Good riddance to the jean-wearing glory-hunting, johnny come lately types. I might start going back if we are ketch again, certainly sorts out the wheat from the chaff. Ah, Moldova..... those were the days.

    Ketch?  What does that mean?

  9. With the Euros being expanded I said after Euro 2016 that i'd give it 2 more campaigns and see if we get to Euro 2020 but feels Like a distant dream.  Getting humped at Wembley with Chris Martin up front will be it for me I think!  I do generally enjoy the away trips but it's the touristy thing of being new places, quite sad that the football is the worst part of the trip nowadays.

Rubbish. Celtic and Celtic fans where in the past the subject of the boo boys and discrimination.

I wouldn't boo Lee Wallace but why on earth after he decided league 2 was good for his career has he even been considered.

We are talking about now though not the past, times are different and I disagree with you the referendum has brought about a more anti rangers/british feeling, i am saying this is a minority though.  Going to most games when you hear some folk speak the hatred to what i said it is clear for anyone to hear.

Wallace going to League 2 with Rangers is his choice and no one else's business, in this day snd age how dare someone be loyal to his club!!

I've never had a problem with any Rangers player playing for Scotland, or with Rangers fans who follow us - there are a few on the bus that I travel on. I have a big problem with the bile spouted by Rangers fans on internet forums against Scotland and the Tartan Army by a section of their support. As previously stated I find booing individuals and the team embarrassing and counter-productive...

Yeah I think for the majority they either don't care or it's just a bit of banter but a small minority bring so much hatred to it and that is Scotland and Rangers fans, it's quite pathetic really.  Wallace has done nothing to warrant boo's.

  12. Wallace plays for Rangers that's why a minority boo him.  A minority of die hard Yes voters who haven't gotten over the fact No won the referendum and Rangers celebrate everything Yes voters hate.  Might be wrong but that's my opinion, no one can deny there is a strong hatred for Rangers amongst a lot of the TA.
