an 11 min hat-trick for Tommy Conway for Bristol City in a friendly against Swindon. Will be interesting to see how he gets on this season. If he keeps scoring like he did last year then he'll be vying with Shankland, Nisbet, Stewart & Brown for that last striker spot in the squad
I've got a season ticket down there and he's come on a lot in the last 6 months. A lot stronger now, holds the ball up well and is a top class finisher. Reminds me a bit of Mo Johnston. I think he's the real deal.

Has anyone seen Mr Inbetween on Disney+? Just finished all 3 series and it was top drawer. Only 30 minute episodes about an Aussie hitman. Really enjoyable and a good bit of humour in it too.

Just finished Mayflies by Andrew O'Hagan. Absolutely brilliant - read it in one night.
Read Steelmen last year - thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you have never before read "Lanark: A Life In Four Books" then do so next year. A wonderful novel.
I was a bit late on picking up this thread but I did what you said last week and haven't regretted it. Thank you.

Currently reading and enjoying The Young Team by Graeme Armstrong about a young team set in Airdrie.

So many comparisons can be made with what Clarke did with Killie. The pattern of last night's game especially, solid enough in the first half then much more vibrant and attacking in the second. Always felt at Killie that Clarke spent the first half sussing out the opposition and their weaknesses and then exploiting them in the second.

Just spent a few days hacking up some courses in Cornwall. Would highly recommend it to anyone. Trevose, St.Enodoc (stunning course), Bowood Park and Newquay.

You should have a go on The Players Club course, which is down your way. Nice wee course to build up your confidence on.
Just had a look at that online. Might give a couple of years. 😬

Haven't played regularly since I left Scotland 20 odd year ago but have just joined Clevedon Golf Club down here. Looking forward to getting into it again.

No Tony Fitzpatrick, shame on you.
If he was better than Hartley and Gow then I stand corrected.

No Richard Foster?
I have it on good authority that he was pish, however I have to admit I never seen him play for City.

Killie 2 East Fife 1, think it was about 1990. Remember thinking what a player Tommy Burns was.

Don't think I'm going to survive this if I don't have the foresight to stock up on bog roll. I still can't grasp how having 240 rolls in the garage is going to help.

I'm away in Iowa for the play offs. Is there likely to be any channels showing any of these games in the US?

‘Beer can’ in a welsh accent sounds identical to ‘bacon’ in a Jamaican accent
Fact for the day
Space Ghetto in an American accent sounds like Spice Girl in a Scottish one.

This is a really fascinating story that might explain a lot of the Russia, China and Iran hate we are seeing from the US & the UK/EU this last decade or so. Totally passed me by at the time but what a fuck up of fuck ups. The way they treated the whistle blower who could have saved them is poetic justice... Also makes you wonder if the Western intelligence agencies are not nearly as intelligent as they need to be. Schoolboy error, really shocking. Makes me further wonder if tearing up the Iran deal was a form of retaliation for 'nuking' their global spy network.

Only got round to reading this today and already there is related new.

Eddie Large in the doctors waiting room in Portishead. Had a good chat with him, never knew he was Scottish.

All East Ayrshire final. Talbot v Glenafton, hopefully it'll be a repeat of the 1992 final.

4-2, one of my fave Killie games ever at RP.
Some atmosphere that night, missed two goals queuing for a pie under the main stand, Paul Wright's screamer being one of them.

Burlington Berties in Killie after the Friday night game against Hibs in 96. Thought we were great so thought we would get off the bus early in Mauchline and go into the KSC on the way back. Got turned away by the bouncers and had to walk 2 miles home in the dark. Some game that one.
