No need to build a wall drop grant hanley and play guys who play for their club - SIMPLE

The chance Hanley had is just the chance that Steven Anderson puts away time and time again.

What makes you certain it will be Kaunas? I thought they play their matches in Vilnius these days but I  appreciate you have local knowledge

I'm not 100% certain, just pretty certain. LT Football auithority stil not confirming

  3. Q 1,2 and 3 - Direct Edinburgh to Kaunas available now

Where to stay? Vilnius or Kaunas. Don't let others put you off Kaunas, it's a nice town (but I agree that Vilnius is nicer) I'll be in Jonava (free digs) or Vilnius (wife still owns an apartment there).

Likelihood of me on 1 point getting an official away end ticket? Was OK the last couple of times in Kaunas and I'm pretty certain it will be in Kaunas this time.

Easy to get in home end if I struggle? I think so.

Travel around Lithuania nice and easy? Aye

  4. Swanson has definitely improved since he was last at Saints on loan. Leaner, fitter and showing nice skill in abundance. I just made these points to my pal at the game on Sunday and also, despite his size, he is not easily pushed off the ball. To be honest though, if I had to choose Swanson in this form or O’Halloran in the form he was in at this time last season, I would pick O’Halloran. He was definitely worth a Scotland call up in my opinion, I’m not so sure about Danny just now but may still be convinced.

But there is a point that Strachan should maybe take a chance on players in the SPL. Zander is keeping out a Northern Ireland internationalist (Mannus). Danny’s fellow midfielder (Paton),  who is by no means a regular for Saints, was recently drafted into the NI squad. NI are doing alright.

  5. Apparently, WGS was at McD when we played Hearts. The Hearts goalie had a poor game, Saints goalie played a blinder. The next squad - Hearts goalie was in it (not for a minute saying Zander is Scotland level (yet) but hopefully you get my point). At the same game Steven Anderson played an aboslute blinder in defence  (and he can score from time to time too). My point is not that i want these St J players in the Scotland team. It's - why does Strachan go to games to asses players, when players in these games play brilliantly but he still picks who he was going to anyway? PS - I still think Ando has to brush up on his goal celebrations ;-)

  6. Get Ando in (his goal celebrations might need to improve though)

Ive said it before, while steven anderson at saints is limited, he is far more dependable than hanley. He heads and boots the ball the way he is facing, nothing fancy, but it does the job.

Yip, the defence is rank. Seriously, Steven Anderson fae Saints would be far more dependable than any of the two we have in the middle there, at least you know what you are getting.

  7. I’m reading this thread a day or two after my nephew was jumped and viciously assaulted.  He was under 16 European kick boxing champion and, although it’s been a year or two since he fought (he chose  football ahead of it) he is still very fit. A nicer laddie you couldn’t meet.

So, Mr whatever your name is that started this thread, I really really hope what you have said is true. Not that I wish you or any of your friends any harm. But if all that you wrote is a lie, then that is more vicious and cowardly than anything you described in your posts.

  8. Does The Sunshine Appeal still collect unused currency?  I was clearing out an old cupboard and came across a stash of Belarus money. Although it's quite a lot of notes and a couple of high denominations (20000), I don't think it's worth very much (I checked the exchange rate). It might not even be legal tender anymore. If you can use it, I'm happy to send on if someone can provide me with details of where to send it. I'll have a rake to see if I can find some other stuff I wouldn't use again.

I notice that the farming community....ever ready for years now to get stuck into the SNP..... has gone incredibly quiet on the back of this vote.

I presume that they're too busy pouring over their online bank accounts wondering how they're going to fill the huge whole that used to be EU money.

I just saw a few farmers getting interviewed at The Highland Show on CNN. Only 1 of all interviewed (I think 5) indicated he would vote Yes in a second indy ref.

  10. So, I was back in LT a couple of weeks ago> My wife's pal was getting married. Despite (or because of) it being a 2 day wedding and me having umpteen chances to ask, I never found out where the game would most likely be played. 2 weeks later, I'm back. I stayed at the wife's cousin last night and  asked him where the game would most likely be played. He called his pal (who just happens to play for Zalgiris and the national team) and they both reckon the game will be in Kaunas.

  11. I hope they invest in a change of ground better than they do in players. Thank you so much for Joe The Throw. He is heading for a player of the season award or 2 from Saintees. Started off shaky but ended up immense in defence for us.  Talking of which, yet another great result for Saints tonight. 4 on the trot in the top 6. If Scottish football played during the summer months, we would win the league at a canter. Scott Brown (Saints player) struggled for a game when out on loan with Dumbarton but, yet again, bossed the game against Celtic
