Next week May Hendry and Wotherspoon goals give St J a win in the Scottish Cup 😎

Was expecting a Scotland call up thread ...
No, the only current StJ player I might be tempted to ask for a Scotland call up is Ali McCann.
Unfortunately he plays for Saints and realised he won't get picked so has opted for N Ireland instead.
Keep your eye out for that laddie. He will end up in the English top division.

Slowly but surely the coaching he had at Aberdeen is fading away
Bit by bit he is regaining the form of his first spell at Saints
2 goals today and, if it hadn't been for an unconventional yet brilliant stop from the Hearts goalie, it would have been a hatrick.
His confidence is returning 😍

Dirty bastard that boy.
Based on one game? That's his first red card since he joined Saints 10 years ago. 343 games

Oh, thanks for sending that link. I spotted myself in one of the pictures. I'd forgotten we didn't go in kilts.
Thanks again

I wonder if anyone has photos, and is willing to post them, of the trip to Chernobyl when we played Ukraine in 2006.
I spent yesterday watching the whole series and it brought back memories of that day. Sadly, I didn't have a camera and my phone then just did phone calls and texts (maybe played music too, I cannae mind).
I was watching with my wife who I met that same year in Lithuania and she can hardly believe that we even wanted to go there so pictures would help 😀
She was especially interested in the series as it was filmed in Vilnius and even spotted her flat which she still has and rents out.
She was a little bit annoyed at the end when they only mentioned the devastating effect it had on Ukraine and Belarus - Lithuanian people also have higher cancer rates etc as a result of the disaster. She has often said how angry she feels that. as a child, she and her friends were not warned by the Soviet officials about the dangers of playing outside immediately following the disaster.
Anyway, memories of the trip.....
The site of the funfair,
going for a wee meal served up by the good ladies of Chernobyl,
someone dropping a whole loaf of bread in the river and one of the huge fish coming up and swallowing it in a oner
Worrying on the way out when being scanned that I'd be too radioactive to be allowed back to Kiev 😎
So, thanks in advance for any pictures

Tierney and Robertson are both left backs. Our left back is English so even less chance of him getting a call up

Jason Kerr. Another game without conceding. More clean sheets than a busy steamie

Aberdeen fans blaming their own team. When, in fact, the young Scottish defender, overlooked for U21, overlooked for the big team, just because he plays for Saints, was again a major part of yet another St J clean sheet. Soon he'll be signed by by a more 'SFA friendly' club and be in the squad immediatly.

19 before my first game. Work colleagues hired a minibus from Perth, stopped at the New Orleans bar in Ruthrglen for a few before heading down to the game. That was the first of many with them until I moved north a couple of years later.

Bit my nails to the quick after this one went in

Hee hee, you might not get many St Johnstone fans wanting to go to Trakai. However, it is well worth the visit, beautiful place and the kibinai is delicious (bit like a bridie but with various fillings)

So, after 38 years, I've been handed my redundancy/early retirement notes. I'm just thinking of my opportunities. I'm getting a fairly good package which includes early retirement. I've no family so no need to invest longer than me and the wife lives. Should I go for property or can anyone recommend someone/somewhere I can get good investmwnt advice? PS, I'm mortgage free

Klaipeda is a fair distance from Kaunas. But it's more of a port than a resort apart from what has already been said (Nida). Alternatively, a bit further north is Palanga or the smaller resort of Šventoji. I had few days in Šventoji 3 or 4 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Get your Google translate around this. My faither in law (wife's Lithuanian) was telling me he's read the game is going ahead in Kauans. Got the wife to trawl a few LT websites and came across this one. This article says they are expecting a request of 4000tickets for Scotland and England fans. They are going to delay an upgrade to the stadium in Kaunas which will give a capacity of 9200 for the qualifiers. Not a definite I don 't think but almost certain it'll be Kaunas http://sportas.lrytas.lt/futbolas/lietuvos-futbole-dideles-ambicijos-turi-plana-kaip-aplenkti-krepsini.htm

I asked LT football on social media where the game would likely be played. As well as Vilnius and Kaunas, I asked about the possibility of Marijampolė too (nae chance, I know but I asked anyway.) Here's the reply which basically means that there has been no decision made yet but all three options are possibilities. " Sveiki, kol kas nėra nuspręsta, visi trys variantai neatmestini"
I still reckon it'll be Kaunas

Aberdeen wins (loses) cause no one has come up with a better reason than my previously posted rant.
-
How up to date was the link/source of your reading material? The most recent I heard was that they were doing up the stadium in Kaunas after abadoning plans for a new national stadium in Vinius.
Will we turn up
in Georgia v Scotland

Ooh. It never crossed my mind that the game would be anywhere else but Tbilisi.
I'll be in Tblisi no matter where it's played. I've kept in touch with people I met in 2007 and will be staying with them.
