  1. Looking back, i think this will hinge on what people regard as "seen" meaning in the original context.

On reflection "treatment" would have been a better word than "seen". However, my experience of hospitals is that you are usually given an "initial assessment", i.e. seen, pretty quickly, this does not equate to being treated in my opinion.

  2. I always try to treat flying (especially long haul) as just a moment in time.

Nobody likes being squashed up in a metal tube with 200 people at 36.000 feet for 12 hours, but I as there's feck all I can do about it I try not to let the small things get to me.

If the person in front of me wants to recline their seat, fine....they're entitled to do it. Equally, I'll recline mine when I'm ready and whoever's behind me will just have to get on with it. The only caveat I have to it all is not to do it when meals are being served, but most frequent long-haul travellers are aware of this.

If not, often the trolley-dollys will come along and ask people to put their seats up....BA especially are good at this.

Headphones on, watch a couple of movies, read a few pages of a book until I doze off, and I'm there.

There are worse things in life than the guy in front of me putting his seat back a bit.

That's all very well for a short ärse like you !!

  3. Looks like the final throw of the dice from Labour is "Vote Labour because of what we used to represent"

    http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/may/01/ed-miliband-summons-up-ghosts-of-labours-past-in-bid-to-avoid-rout-by-snp

Ed Miliband is to call on Scottish voters to remember the titans of the Labour movement, from Gordon Brown to Keir Hardie, after firmly ruling out any deal with the Scottish National party in the last of the TV election events before polling day.

In a final effort to prevent a Scottish National party landslide, the Labour leader will urge the partys traditional voters to remember their heritage and family loyalty.

To paraphrase LBJ, "You sir (Miliband) are no Keir Hardie" !

  4. My army would crush peevers army, mainly because his army is made of civil war humans with muskets, while mine is made up of a space marine chapter with terminator back-up and a few heavy machines and possible titan back up. To be fair we;d probably just nuke his army from orbit.

My friend and alumnus of The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. would say it's more correctly called the War of Northern Agression !
