All the seats are fine at Murrayfield although these look a bit far back from the action. I believe though she is using a circular stage so you should get a decent view anyway. I’ve been at a couple of gigs there but standing both times, sorry I can’t be any more help than that 🤷🏼‍♂️

Aw that’s perfect thank you! Trying to decide if I should try and get other tickets 😂

Not a phrase per se, but the younger generation have like, totally, a tendency to like, totally overuse the words like and totally. They also have some sort of passion for percentages, mostly incorrectly e. g. 'a thousand per cent mate' or a' million per cent bruv. '

Of course its also entirely possible that I'm turning into a grumpy auld bassa and the younger generation just get on my tits as a rule now. 🤣

This is so me 🙈 and I tend to overuse pure as well haha! Might make it my New Years resolution to use these less haha

They would have been more likely to end up in hospital if they didn't already or died if they did. The vaccine reduces the severity that doesn't mean everyone will have mild illness just that it will likely be milder than it would have been so this anecdotal experience isn't really something to base a view of the vaccine on.

I'm not basing this as my view on the vaccine I as stated in my post do not want the vaccine for other reasons. However, it is hitting people differently and my experience was different to people who have been double vaxxed which I am fortunate for whereas my concern lies if I was to get the vaccine and had an allergic reaction to it.

I take all your points and dont think you are being dramatic, I find you explain yourself well.

My understanding is that vaccine passports will be a short term measure and has been implemented due to the high number of covid cases we still have in this country. And also an encouragement for younger people to get vaccinated.

I am not intending to say ‘fuck them they have a choice’ I am genuinely not sure why people are choosing not to have it as I can see absolutely no evidence to suggest this is significantly dangerous. We trust medical people all the time .

I  don’t understand your argument about it being young/vulnerable/black and poor people who are likely to be unvaccinated. Surely this vaccine is open to everyone , especially the vulnerable ? I dont work in social care or know enough to understand what prevents poor, black and vulnerable people obtaining vaccinations. I realise some people may not be registered with a GP and that would perhaps prevent vaccinations. But there surely cannot be anyone in the western world that doesn’t know about Covid .
I dont completely trust any government but I genuinely do not think the SG would be introducing something that discriminates against that section of society on a serious issue like the vaccination programme . Perhaps I am being too naive.

I am not getting the vaccine and vaccine passports/certificates will not force me to get one. My decision not to get the vaccine is not based on mistrust from the government (even though I don't trust them thats not my reason). I am allergic to tonnes of stuff also antibiotics. I try not to take any form of medication unless I absolutely have to. I have also had covid fairly recently and fortunately only experienced mild symptoms. I don't want the covid jag the same way I don't feel like the flu jag would benefit me at this point in my life.

I do regularly take lateral flow tests and if I had symptoms I would remain indoors until I knew whether I had it or not. I am not an anti-vaxxer I believe vaccines absolutely have their place but it is my decision whether I get it or not. I know quite a few people who have been double vaxxed and had severe covid symptoms whilst me and a couple of my family members who have not had it were lucky to have mild symptoms.

Never (at least that I can remember) have we had to prove our medical status and where does that stop, how much medical information should you be asked to provide about yourself before you can go to a club/gig/theatre. This vaccine appears to have given people the right to make an opinion about you just because of a decision you have made about your own body without knowing the full reasons why.

  5. I may be wrong but my take on the crossing the road safety point was if you wanted to overtake a female walking on their own at night, there always seems to be this awkward aspect of walking quicker/ a light run to pass by someone (or is this just me), so if at night and you want to do this it may make someone feel anxious if you are walking quicker to pass them.

On the educate sons topic I listened to this again last week and its really interesting! Its like 8 minutes long but so informative.

So, from time to time you see a Scots/Scottish word written down you'd never seen written down before, or suddenly hear a Scots word on radio or TV that you'd never heard broadcast before, your realise you'd only ever heard it word of mouth.

So it can feel strange out of context (which may have been a specific time and place).

And did you ever think it was spelt not how you thought it should, or pronounced not as you remembered?

Or when you look it up in the dictionary, the definition doesn't do it justice?

I'm thinking of words like footery, which (to me) somehow doesn't look as if it should be spelt that way. (Then there's fouterie, futtering, etc.)

Also "Complicated or awkward to do or use." seems not to capture it adequately, plus there's an element of negativity (as in "Stop fouttering!")

Or bahookie, which I always assumed should be properly spelt bahoochie (like loch as opposed to lock). (Seems both spelling exist but the first seems more common?)

Or "redd up" which  I never even heard of till an adult then heard someone using it. To hear it suddenly on the radio was a surprise. Funnily the first popular dictionary entry I came across says it's chiefly Pennsylvania (!) but derived from Scottish settlers (and before that, Middle English).

Or the word wee-er (weeer?) so commonly spoken but I don't remember ever seeing it written down.

And what about Ah amn'tAh umnae, Um ur or Um urnae?

I was in a meeting last week and one of the guys said something was footery, our American colleagues were so confused. We struggled to define it but footery accurately described what we were discussing 😂

Ive started watching The Confession Tapes on Netflix, American justice is absolutely flawed beyond all belief. If it was a tinpot dictatorship in Africa, we would be laughing about how bad it is, even Mugabe/Amin/Gaddafi led kangaroo courts looks better the Yanks justice system.

I watched confession tapes and it freaked me out beyond belief. Every episode it got worse. What they are allowed to do is ridiculous

  8. I have worked from home since March.  I am going to start going back into the office voluntarily from next week onwards and do a blend of office and home working. The company I work for literally just moved into a bigger office weeks before lockdown and I think if they hadn't moved they would reconsider and have kept the smaller office.

I know people who work for other companies who won't be going back to the office, I am so happy I have the option as I wouldn't like to work from home indefinitely.

I have made a point of exercising in the morning and/or at lunch more so to clear my head and take some time away as its easy to work through lunch and start early or later.
