  1. Strange comments by Sbragia. Leaving a player out is not unusual but to actually produce a reason and a criticism of a young player seems weird. Is he testing the player's attitude? Also worrying that his tactics seem to be based on out running the opposition to get results. Isn't the youth level supposed to help develop players? I suppose we all want 'luxury' players who also run a lot and put in '110 %' but some players just aren't built like that. That doesn't mean they can't be highly effective. Perhaps Sbragia ought to peruse the Scottish athletics team if he wants powerful runners. Maybe Alan Wells can come in to help coach? I agree just because a young lad is at Real Madrid it shouldn't mean he automatically gets in the Scotland team but it shouldn't be used as a reason to exclude him either. I doubt Real Madrid will be poaching Sbragia to re vamp their youth departments.

  2. Considering his age and the position he plays in, a position where players generally vastly improve with age and experience, I think he is a very, very decent option to have. An option who will improve considerably in time I think.

It's really not his fault we have so little competition of any quality in that role and he is definitely as good as we have, with that added bonus that although there may be occasional mistakes he will undoubtedly mature into a fine centre half.

    I like him.

    :ok: I agree.

  3. I'd certainly have James Morrison in midfield over Charlie Mulgrew. Mulgrew is the classic jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Although we do have a wealth of midfield options so can't be too critical.

A bit harsh. Unlike many of our players Mulgrew generally controls the ball and gives it to someone he knows. I like him.

  4. One thing that should be noted is it is England who treated the game more like a 'cup final'. They were well up for it. That's the best I've seen them play for a while, unfortunately Scotland looked too polite and too tired. Could have been a cracker if we were up for it. No harm done really. Lost to a good team and Strachan and the players may have learnt a few lessons. Good education for the youngsters. I assumed Martin was up front as he is big and strong but to be honest Ross McCormack is a better target man than that. I thought Mulgrew was good and young Robertson kept battling and deserved his reward. Nice to see Gordon back in a Scotland shirt. D Fletcher needs to get more club games as looks rusty (he should come to Leeds Utd).

  5. My favourite bit is the utter bollox about the "Scottish collective spirit under Gordon Strachan is superior" You may well win tonight but you are so up your own arse it is unbelievable !!! I have no objection to bigging yourself up but there is an awful lot of guff in there and with any luck Roy will read this balanced piece out at training this morning :wink2:

I would imagine that would send most of the England players to sleep.

  6. I thought the interview with Martin O'Neil was revealing. He looked like a woman who has just had the Police bring her son home. Defensive, delusional and barely covering his inner hysteria. There's summat up with that guy. At least he has the calming influence of his psychopathic assistant to keep things in order. He tried to claim Ireland were 'in control of the game' ! From what I saw Ireland's main (only?) tactics are to battle away and hoof balls into the box. Whenever real football broke out it was Scotland playing it.

  7. Just spoke to Sky and guy assured me I could watch Now tv through my TV freeview box or an old skybox I have, or a laptop. None of it worked! I had to then battle away with a live chat person to try and get my £6.99 back. Will take 5 working days.Khunts.

  8. I can never see the attraction of MacArthur. There must be something good as he is usually in the squad. Every time I see him for Scotland he has the incredible knack of winning the ball and immediately giving it back to the opposition (often more effectively than they were managing themselves).

  9. As any Irish fan I would much rather play Germany away in the first game considering all their injuries as opposed to a dodgy game that we have to win vs georgia,on the plus side for us if we beat Georgia which we should and beat Gibraltar, provided you lot lose to the Germans we will have 6 points by the time we play yous, and yous could well only have 1 or 3 points.

Not sure you will beat Georgia.
