    Looking for some advice guys;

got about £1300-1500 to spend on a road bike. Not especially precious about carbon and would consider and top aluminium bike. Is componentry as key as the frame?

    Looked at the following

'16 Cube Attain carbon with Ultegra

'17 Specialised Allez Alu with 105

    cannondale CAAD12(?)

anyone ne able to offer some advice? Would like to keep to this budget to be able to add some nice kit and possibly a garmin 520 or similar.

currently riding a Btwin Triban from Decathlon with a mixture of Claris and Microshift groupset so will clearly be an improvement whatever the choice!

Did you get a new bike?

I just got a Boardman Road Pro Carbon for £990 with a bike of deal loading.

    http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/road-bikes/boardman-road-pro-carbon-bike

    Was £1500 with 20% off = £1199

    Then I got UK Cycling discount (10%) = £1080

Then I bought it with halfords vouchers, which I bought online via a car club, at a 10% discount.

£1080 vouchers delivered with card fees for £990.

Oh and then I stuck it through cycle to work......

Oh and I ordered it via QuidC with 3% cashback

Think I'll pay less than £630 for it.

They might as well just have a permanent headline from now on - "Just look at what these SNP cünts have done now !".

That's pretty much been the gist of it for the last couple of years now

go for the Nexus or Pixel C since they are stock Android and will get any updates quicker than anything that isn't 'pure' Android. If you can, buy it direct from google because then you'll get a 2-year warranty with it and they'll replace it if there are any issues. My wee maw has a Nexus 9 and it recently became corrupt after an OTA monthly security update from Google went awry. But they've replaced it and she's got another 2-year warranty from the date of getting the replacement

    Thanks.

Almost certainly will be Nexus 9. Shame I wasn't looking last week - curry's shifted them at £130!

  4. Anyone anything to add to this?

Needing to buy an android tablet for someone. It's their first tablet having had very limited use of an iPad.

71years old with lots of spare time, looking to fill in their time by trying out the internet etc.

Needs to be as close to stock Android as possible.

    Options:

    Samsung Tab A 9.7 @ £199

Nexus 9 @ £250 (can't find any good deals just now!)

Google Pixel C @ £299 (which is a great price!)

  5. If it's a narrow margin there is hug scope for tactical voting like this.

And with so many super-nats around some will be stupid enough to do it, making that diffence.

There will be a clear 'stay' majority in Scotland regardless, so the SNP position will not be undermined and polling will happen on both EU and Scotland questions to reflect this anyway.

If its narrow polling, people in Scotland will vote tactically on this.
