What a back and forth, better bring your luggage to Cologne and lock it. Regional trains will be free with match ticket
Thanks for advice, are there many lockers in Cologne station ?

I'm going back to Essen.
Seem to run all night
00.30, 00.49, then 02.09am etc.
I’ll also be returning to Essen after the game, then need to get to Düsseldorf airport by 0930 for flight the next day, might just party all night 🍺 I assume no booking required for these trains ??
-
I’m also going to this game, bought a ticket in the previous resale prior to playoffs, did think it maybe Greece v Turkey. Nice to go to Westfalenstadion.
-
Have a ticket for Turkey v playoff C in Dortmund so hope Greece get through, could be tasty !

Out of curiosity which train time and date and did you book a seat for your train.
i bought 2 tickets reserved seats first class for the 13.28 out of Munich direct on the 17th for £106.69 through the Trainline app about 3 weeks ago as just wanted booked before it got busy, sounds like you got a good deal.
I booked the 1151 out of Munich on the 16th

I had a check and it was trying to make you pay for a seat reservation. Were you allocated a seat for your 39.90? Also kids were supposed to travel free but that doesn’t seem to be working either!
No seat allocated it seems, ignore previous comment as I do have an allocated seat

Working now, I’ve just booked my ticket from Munich to Cologne on 16th June for €39 first class

I wouldn’t book train tickets until 17th Jan, see this site - https://int.bahn.de/en/offers/special-offers/fan-ticket-football

Fans First for Munich and Category 3 for Cologne, happy bunny though had to put it on Revolut as credit card auth code didn’t come through first time, was never going to third game, saving my bacon for knock out rounds 🫠

Just come in from a funeral, cannae wait to get my tickets noo….
oh wait FFS, might be a blessing ?

If my maths is correct about 80% of those on 12 or more points will be able to buy tickets at the following prices:
Munich €50 - €195(!)
Cologne/Stuttgart €30 - €60
Do we expect >80% of those members on 12 or more points to buy tickets ?? -
Handy info for those dossing down in Dublin airport - https://youririshadventure.com/sleeping-in-dublin-airport/#Where_to_Sleep_Before_You_Check-In
I’m flying DUB-MUC on 14th early morning but am based over in NI next summer so can catch a late evening/middle of the night bus quite easily to the airport.

This site explains the options - https://www.uefa.com/euro2024/event-guide/ticket-holders/
Probably best to wait until 17 January to book tickets
