Do we now accept that the media and pollsters are trying to influence the vote and not reflect public opinion ?

    Thats the UK General Election

    The EU referendum

    The US presidential election

All wrong - Fvck they were saying yesterday that Clinton had a 97% chance of winning

ps - I assume Macy is pumping his neighbour ?

The media certainly influenced the Scottish referendum in favour of the better together campaign.

Nobody is being forced to wear a poppy.  It's entirely personal choice, and everyone should have that choice.  On a personal level i choose to do this to remember the poor souls who made the ultimate sacrifice to let me live the life I do today.  Not, as some people here are suggesting, as part of any triumphalist   Statement.  Unfortunately, like many aspects of the game, some people take a political view on it.

    Well said

The amount of money, time, energy and enthusiasm I have spent on Scotland in the last 20 years, I'd hate to think. Some great memories granted, however, far too many bad ones to make it worthwhile any more.

I have a young family, and I'd rather give them my money, time, energy and enthusiasm.

We give and give and give Scotland everything. Time, money, support, loyalty even after nearly 20 long frustrating years of not qualifying and we get fvck all back except half arsed performance's and excuses after excuses, not to mention rising ticket costs. I shudder to think about the money I've spent on watching Scotland

Ah, so you get your knowledge of history from Wikipedia. Fine.

I've lived an worked in Africa and Asia for some 14 years and this: "You do understand that many people throughout Africa and Asia would in fact tell you that the British Army done everything they could to suppress their way of life and forced them to live in the most unimaginable conditions?" is tabloid bollocks.

Why should a Scottish government apologize for the eradication of the brutal East African Arab slave trade? It was David Livingstone's press campaign, and the public outcry that resulted, that led to British involvement in what became Kenya.

As has been said, history is far more complex that the simplistic take on it that you've provided us with.

He'll be spitting feathers now and probably kick feck out his dug, who is called poppy

  5. Hutton was a good player who gave his all for Scotland. When he was at Spurs he (imo) looked decent until a horror injury from Ashley Cole (I think) and really struggled for form after that. I thought his playing days looked over when he started at Villa, especially when he was told to train with youth players. Once he was loaned out to Mallorca I thought we had the Hutton of old back for us, shame he couldn't stay there permanently.

Disappointed that he's retired especially after being shown loyalty from Strachan when not playing first team football, but I guess the there's no such thing anymore

    You're meaning.. henderson?
    and complaining about McGinn?

Not sure 5 minutes as a time-wasting sub really qualifies you for international football. and if you're against McGinn's inclusion i can only assume you haven't watched him playing for us.

I was meaning Stuart Armstrong. Although I will be watching him on Saturday against Ayr

I thought despite giving the ball away a couple of times, Armstrong was pretty good and will get better with games. He is incisive and tries to make things happen.

Enjoyed watching the Scottish players playing for Celtic tonight, sometimes they can be frustrating to watch though.

Gordon 8 :- kept Celtic in it with a couple of good saves, but needs to clear his lines better

Brown 8 :- kept the ball moving and worked hard, but should be passing it better

Armstrong 6 :- Difficult night, gave the ball away a wee bit too much in a crowded midfield battle but will become a better player this season

Forrest 5 :- Disappointing night, poor first touch and had to defend more than attack subbed after 60 mins

McGregor 3 :- Should have burst the net in the last 5 mins

Henderson 3:- unlucky with a shot.

Tierney and Griffiths would have played some part of tonight as well, good thing for Scotland is that these players will get game time under Rodgers who will make them better players

.  I heard a rumour that Pep has made all the youngsters at City wear black boots. Not sure if it is true or not.

Yeah I don't think anyone from the u20's is allowed to have any other colour except black boots.

  9. Only under exceptional circumstances then a player should be played out of position, during the game if a player gets injured, or sent off.

When we have Robertson and Tierney at left back, you wouldn't play them over Paterson, Hutton or Bardsley at right back

I disagree with that, in fact I'd say that outwith the larger nations with a bigger pool of talent there's more need to play players out of position.

For example, at club level, if you had two excellent left backs but all your right backs were useless, you would probably look to sell one of the left backs and use that cash to get a decent right back in.  Obviously you can't do that in international football, you'd probably have to look at which of your two left backs could play on the right.

There is an argument about playing players in their position but I'd argue that - depending on the player -  a good player, playing out of position, will be better than an average player playing in their natural position.  They'll have the technique, mentality and intelligence to adapt to another position, the average player may not be able to adapt to playing at a higher level.

All depends on the player of course and positions which are to an extent interchangeable, eg., I wouldn't suggest bring Ross McCormack in to play at centre half.

  11. When Paul leguen first came to rangers he said that there was a drink culture associated with the club and Barry Ferguson was the instigator. Ronnie Delia said that when he took over the players fitness levels was terrible. Brendan Rodgers has already fined 3 Celtic players for drinking and poor fitness levels. Rumour has it that Kris Commons has fined twice

  12. Scotland of old wouldn't settle for a draw away from home against anyone.

Scotland of old wouldn't play experienced players in hope of reducing a deficit away to England.

Scotland used to be brave, bold and bigger on the world stage, not clapping off a failed team and manager that didn't qualify for another campaign. It will soon be 20 years since we last qualified for anything and yet we still hear calls for the same incompetence that has seen us go backwards. From grassroots to the very top reeks of incompetence.

Celebrating failure after failure, and trying to draw some positives is embarrassing.

Playing out of form players, playing guys who don't play for their first team and playing players and trying to make them fit into positions doesn't work and hasn't worked since the beginning of time.

We need a complete overhaul or it will be another 20 years. Best chance we have is finishing 3rd in a euro qualifier and sneaking in hoping no one noticed hoping how long it took us

  13. Tierney being out is worse than Snodgrass imo. Aye snoddy can be a great player for us but last 2 games he's been posted missing, looks good against Malta and Gibraltar but so do half our players.

Tierney is a real quality left back, who has pace, can tackle, great on 1 v 1 situations. real shame that the boy is out
