  1. Not got mine's yet....what passport details do they need....name and number??

Will it be name and number printed on ticket???? Seems a lot of checking for a football match!! Just thinking about problems Welsh fans had outside Rotterdam (?) stadium.

  2. Before he retired and immediately after, I don't think he had his finest hours for the national team. Now that he is back to form - and we must give him the benefit of doubt over niggling injuries etc - it is just bloody bad luck to lose him now!! I am a fan of Scott Brown so was just wondering at the time about his fitness. His demeanour was not right, he seemed unwilling to go forwards. I am not sure how terrific he had been for Celtic over the same period....yes I know he is now!!

I know these are massive games and no time to experiment, but how about John McGinn?? He could play that role, get in between their midfield breaking things up and start the ball rolling for out attacks. Pretty much the Scott Brown role. If anything the ball would be quicker from back to front.

Yes - It will probably be Fletcher though??

Remember this is the ideal opportunity for people to join the boat shoe TA  - smart casual comfy shoes with no need for big itchy socks - look good - feel good.B)

Missed this!! Hopefully I will be able to re-join as a founding member after my slip into Palladium Boots.........although, to be fair, I wasn't on the boat!! B)

    Won't happen again!! :)

  4. Ok - I know that is has been a while since we got the handy wee fold-up booklets with our tickets, but I thought that there was some kind of communication with the tickets - useful info or at least a cover letter??

The envelope I received contained two tickets and nothing else - the tickets (not SSC fault) don't even mention 'away fans' or 'Scotland Only'. Maybe the fact that they are flimsy bar code jobs, makes it seem that I'm missing something compared to previous deliveries?? Can't complain about the speed at wheich they were delivered, but £7.50????!!

Ach, he's a good lad. I was worried about some of his patter previously about players being scared, but he clarified those remarks, saying it was about young youth players needing to be brave on the ball. He has a fierce determination for Scotland to produce top top players. We need him.

    Hear Hear!

I am looking at this draw now and correct me if I am wrong but does this mean that one of these teams must / will be in the final? Switzerland, Poland, Croatia, Portugal, Wales, NI, Hungary, Belgium?

That is one cushy half of the draw while the bottom half is like the group of death.

Portugal with their result jumped from the bottom (death) half of the draw to the top half. Makes you wonder about their backing off... But hard to predict Iceland. Still you have buy a ticket to win the lottery.

I was hopeful my tickets for the Marseille quarter final (QF1) might see a tasty France v Spain match.....but well and truly scuppered. Nothing is going right and don't know what to hope for. It's the winner of Switzerland/Poland v Croatia/Portugal now.

Switzerland and Poland both been bit disappointing - seen enough of Poland over the last year or two anyway! With one eye on who I want to be sharing a Marseille bar with........Poland and Croatia could be the worst scenario (?).......but maybe the best game! I'm sure we haven't seen the best of Portugal which you can say about one or two other teams.

What pairing would you want to see through to this game if you had tickets??

  7. You could go mad trying to figure out what needs to be done and where things went wrong.

What are we not doing now that we did in the 50's and 60's? I don't think a lot of money was ploughed into coaching then but we did have raw materials that we don't seem to have now. Is it a symptom of the modern age where you don't see kids having 'kickabouts' in the street anymore?? Surely we aren't the only country with this problem? Rather that professional coaching, manageable numbers, excellent facilities....we maybe need to provide areas in as many neighbourhoods as possible that provide for over-subscribed 'matches', poor surfaces, goals the size of garden gates etc!! Just get kids playing football again. Once coaches have an intake of youngsters that have acquired the skills, then we could tackle the problem we seem to have of mentality, attitude, maturity when compared against other countries. Marc Wotte ended up slagging off our youngsters as being more interested in burgers and Buckfast - a line fed to him if ever there was one! He was thanked for his services of course. Interesting that Germany doubled the coaches budget after a failed tournament. I wonder who and how many are making these decisions in Germany? Here - we create a job for a single guy who must be good cos he's Dutch!......and gave a top job to Gordon Smith (a personal gripe)....cos he 'knew fitba'.....oh and could talk well in front of the camera. It's an absolute joke. More people need to be involved with the bigger decisions and even at Scottish government level.

  8. Might be good value with Wales? Russia seem a bit 'huffy'.......if Wales get off to a decent start and Bale pleay, they could easily win. Slovakia have already grown into the comp so I agree there is value there.....but they would need to finish like they did last match.23/25

I looked at Coral today online and seen that England were 4/6.......Ukraine 4/6.......Poland 11/2. pretty decent prices I thought. Picked up a coupon in-store and odds were 8/15.....1/2.....9/2. So for just a fiver treble, you're almost 30 quid down. I know it's hardly a new thing.....but not amused.

Did he really say that? Managed to block it out if he did. I actually felt a bit sorry for England, Russia are a brutally bad side to watch, but I enjoyed hearing Tyldsley's puffed up arrogance being punctured at the end.

Yes - he did..........no words!! Well blocked out!!

    Agree with Russia comments.

Just a modest £10 treble on the 3 favourites today. Croatia, Poland and Germany. Looks promising.

Me too.....swapped out my tenner for an even more modest fiver though.....but still over £25 back. Not easy watching though eh?.....with all games still just 1-0 going into stoppage time and worrying they might England it! Well done! Fancy draws today.....other than Spain.....seems too tough to call.

any silly free money bets on the go like the "Brazil to wear yellow in first game" one at the last world cup?  Were getting an intro 3/1 with that.

Giblet.....I remember that well and turned my 'free money' into around £300 during the WC. I had been looking for similar this time to no avail other than free £10 bet each time a home nation scores (offer by email)......but needed to bet £20 on outright winner. All of this was Coral. Then when I popped into local Coral yesterday to bet three favs (all won!?) there was a sign on the coupon racks offering new customer offer of 9/1 for a home nation to score......ask at counter for details. Not sure if it still stands in running??

So if you never got your ticket checked, can you claim a refund if your original train was cancelled?

You can definitely get a refund. I have already had my references checked and had it confirmed. I got mine from SNCF French site and need to do it at an SNCF station ticket window or boutique (none in UK). I think you have 60 days to do it.....but I am going there in three weeks so am sorted!! Both trains cancelled....no tickets checked on alternative trains....€140 coming back to me for 2 x return journeys!!

Not sure what the situation is if you bought via UK SNCF site??
