When Djokovic got knocked out I fancied sticking a few quid on Fed to win it at 20/1.  Got sidetracked and didn't and pretty sure he'll win it now.

Out of interest, anyone know the oldest male to win a Slam?

    Ken Rosewall I think.

Hoping for a Dmitrov vs Stan final, with a Dmitrov victory.

As long as one of those two win the title, i'll be satisfied. Can't be arsed with the chugfest from the media that would follow a Federer win and think Raonic is monumentally dull to watch.

    Couldn't agree more.

  3. Winning 3 grand slams coming from Scotland, yes i know he went to Spain,is hardly under achieving.Competive tennis in Scotland is the ultimate backwater, nothings changed for years.

From what I recall, this game was sandwiched between two games in Rangers 93/93 Champions League campaign, so a lot of their players (which made up a large part of the squad at the time) were excused (though seem to recall John Brown was in the squad until the last minute), also this game was just a few weeks before the 5-0 hammering in Portugal, so probably Roxburgh was saving players for that.

Germany never got out of 1st gear and we just played our "watching paint dry" tactics that saw us get draws with Italy and Portugal the previous year.

Game probably only recalled for Ferguson's overhead kick (could be wrong, but there was a short lived story in the press for a while after of a move to Bayern Munich because of his performance in that match).

Bit harsh .We should have won the game, and big Dunc was brilliant.Another wasted talent.

Would it be Harsh to point out that Djokovic is going through a bad spell, Nadal is made of chocolate and Federer is about 50?

Be more inclined to say Andy is going through a good spell.

On playing front, we need to refresh squad with a good 5/6 players losing out to others - centre-half and centre-midfielder are the priorities but we also need to now start building Burke into team more permanently. I think tactics is the area where there's potential for big games. Strachan has set team up to be too defensive and too lethargic. The England showed that when the players are set up with pace and told to play a pressing game, we look far better. Fitness and match sharpness needs to factor far more in player selection in order to play a fast, pressing game.

All in all, I seen enough in the England game to know that as much as we tear our hair out at the state of the national team, this crop of players can play with pace and aggression if they wanted to. Responsibility for this rests with the management team so it's within our control to do better - it's not just down to technical limitations of the players.

    :ok::ok:Agreed

    Think this will be it:

    ---------------Marshall-----------------

    Paterson -- Martin – Berra - Kingsley

    -------------Brown – McArthur---------

    Snoddy ---------Morrison--------Burke

    -----------------Griffiths ---------

    Good looking team.
