Folks,
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this post.
In 2007, the Ayr Tartan Army walked from Somerset Park to Hampden Park, in memory of Ally MacLeod.
On the 8th October for the Scotland v Poland game, we are taking to the road again and walking from Somerset Park to Hampden Park in aid of Alzheimer's Scotland's football reminiscence project. This project in partnership with the Scottish Football museum helps football fans suffering from Alzheimer's have some sort of interaction in their life. Scotland is leading the way with this project and it has been proven to give sufferers some sort of quality of life.
The projects extraordinary impact is perhaps best summed up by the wife of one of the men who attends these meetings. "He's a different person when he comes out.... It puts new life in to him and you can see that with all the men there"
We know you give to other charities and we aren't asking for much. We have said that if every football fan can even donate £1 then that small amount can go a long way, to get new volunteers trained and also get these sessions available from Dingwall to Stranraer.
When we walked in 2007, the media coverage was great and we are hoping for the same again.
If you fancy walking all or part of the route with us then get in touch via our website www.allymacleod.co.uk
To donate, Please text your amount, for example FMEM78 £1 to 70070 or visit www.allymacleod.co.uk to donate online.
