  1. I thought it was on the high side (the figure and the percentage).

    There will be a cost per head I suppose, perhaps too many people aren't raising enough money?

    If you're raising £50 and the cost is £25....

    People have fun, get fit, and charity gets money, so there's no losers.

    Last year you were supposed to raise a minimum of £100 this year it was going up to £200.

  2. Stayed I'm Bentota in the south two years back and toured from there. Yala national park for a safari is stunning, Temple of the tooth in Kandy is worth a visit. The people unbelievably friendly and the food is stunning.

  3. Something worth doing if you're in Bangkok is going a day trip 100km north up to Kanchanaburi, where the bridge over the River Kwai is. The train journey is breathtaking, as the train clings to mountains and cliff-sides, walk over the bridge (as long as their are no trains coming), and spend some time in the town's war museum and also in the Allied war cemetery.

    A sobering day, but one I've never forgotten.

    +1 I'm just back from Cha Am and the trip i did up to The River Kwai was one of the highlights.
