Robertson chose to hold off and deal with a dental issue during the international break, pretty poor from a Scotland captain in my opinion.

You've clearly never had severe toothache. You wouldn't be able to sleep, the pain can be unbearable. You certainly wouldn't be "holding off" for a few weeks.

Despite that he travelled from Liverpool ready to board the flight. The medical team looked at it and told him he needed to stay behind and get it seen to straight away. He wanted to board the flight, and he also offered to pay his own way there.

Both will play for their clubs next week no problemo

Robertson played against San Marino. God knows why anyone is questioning his commitment when he was told by the Scotland medical staff to stay at home.

Tierney could have pulled out of the squad, but travelled and wanted to play. He was sent home because, again, the Scotland medical staff didn't pass him fit.

Remember when everyone questioned Griffiths' lack of commitment and stated he wouldn't have a problem still playing for Celtic? How has that one turned out?

Shame on the lot of you.

Dont give a fcuk if you think manager is a piss take you are scottish or claim to be scottish and you let us all down.

Robertson turned up at the airport and was told to stay at home.

Tierney travelled with the team and was deemed unfit and sent home.

Yeh, they may have played had it been club games, but clubs are more willing to risk players' health as they are paying the money for them.

  4. Another party about to begin without us. Is there anyone on here who actually remembers Scotland at a World Cup?

The only ones I'm old enough to remember are Italia 90 and France 98 (interesting that we always say the Italian version of Italy but the English version of France).

Italy I was just a wee kid. Didn't appreciate the build-up or even us being there much.

France I was genuinely proud that we were in the opening game, even though it was pure luck of the draw. Thought the Brazil game was actually a damp squib - the fact it was so corporate and hardly any genuine fans there. Norway and Morocco seemed to be proper WC games.

Can't believe it's so long since we've had a chance to go back. Germany 2006 was the worst one to miss out on as it was in Europe, great place to go, and we'd have taken an amorous support. Think we had somewhere between 20,000-30,000 in France.

Anyway, I've not got many WC stories to tell, but love reading others and their trips.

I like the idea of a point for home games and 2 for away games. I don't think it would chance where you are on the table dramatically but I think it would create a slightly fairer system.

The big weakness would be folk 'harvesting' home points and the admin around it.

I think they should keep it as it is, but maybe make one small change, and that being if you buy the season ticket you get one point, putting you on the ladder.

I think that's fair enough - the price of a season ticket is roughly the same as many of the away trips, and like you say on the issue of harvesting- very few would harvest on a season ticket.

  6. We could do worse than nick a few off Celtic to be fair.

"This is how it feels to be Scotland

Missed out on the Euros you know

Strachan is here until we lose to San Marino."

On a serious note the Kieran Tierney song is good. Could maybe ditch the verse as it's all about Celtic and just keep the chorus.

    Callum McGregor one too:

    "Callum, Callum McGregor

    There's no-one better

    He's like me and you

    He loves Scotland too."

Very English behaviour - we do what we want attitude - too many erseholes taggin along these days - especially at the big ticket games

Disagree, incidents occur on every away trip. Obviously the more fans there are the more incidents there'll be.

  8. Surprised no-one has mentioned the beer that was being thrown from the back of the stand and landing on fellow supporters after every goal.

Aye, cos that's what your fellow fans want, to be soaked by someone else's beer moments after watching the auld enemy score.

  9. It doesn't have to be an ultras section.

You could have one block at Hampden dedicated to it, where people wanting to get involved could buy a ticket for it. Then have a sub-forum on here where people can discuss song/chant ideas, and the guys in that section could help get them going at the game.

Too many people fear trying something new.

  10. The last few years, both home and away, the atmosphere has been really lacking. Of course performances play their part, but even before games it's quiet. Before the Slovakia game I think there was one sporadic chant before the team's came out, then the anthems, then a bit of chanting before it died out all too early.

I put it down to an aging support. Not that older fans are not going to sing, I think everyone joins in if the chants get going, but more that they're not going to create new chants or get a real buzz going about the place. There's only so many times you can sing we'll be coming and doh a deer in 90 minutes.

Celtic had that same problem. Parkhead was very quiet. Then the Green Brigade came along, and although a lot of what they do re-flags, flares and political messages are not everyone's cup of tea, they have introduced a heap of new songs into games while also revising some old ones. Against Man City the place was deafening, full on noise for 90 minutes and yet I don't think you heard the same chant twice.

There's chants there that we should be using - namely their own for Kieran Tierney.

Anyway, do we need a similar group with Scotland? Young guys given their own section at Hampden, introducing new chants, maybe singing some old Scottish folk songs, and trying to revise a tired song list?

I was surprised some of the players even had the nerve to come over and applaud the fans at FT.

    Eh?

They came over to thank the fans for coming. Are we going to criticise them for that now?

I don't think it will. Segregation probably means they will be limited to 5000 standard max away allocation. If there is season tickets sold in the section next to away section then hard to see how they can give out more than 5000.

    They got 6500 in 1999.

They got offered about 8,000 (though didn't sell that) for the friendly at Celtic Park.

  13. The SFA poll is currently underway on their twitter page for what music to play after a goal.

9,166 votes last time I checked. Current results:-

    Bits and pieces 46%

    500 miles 21%

    No music 18%

    Chelsea Dagger 15%

Genuinely had to go on YouTube to find out what bits and pieces sound like. I get the impression the poll has been hijacked if that is winning.

Nothing on the Slovenian FA website if it has been confirmed as Ljubljana

Are you talking about our game or England's?

England is in Ljubljana. The FA website confirmed it.

    Scotland isn't confirmed yet.

Agreed. Folk are moaning about fans wearing a football strip yet there's guys applauding this tosser and folk like him on every trip.

Most these attention seeking clowns don't even watch the game.

There's also a video doing the rounds on Twitter of a Scotland fan standing on someone's car to large cheers while s young couple are in it. (To be fair the majority of the crowd look embarrassed by his actions).

Perhaps I am getting old. First game I travelled to was Belgium in 2001.  Was expressly told no club colours on tour. You support Scotland, you display Scotland.  Saw Aberdeen, Hibs, QoS, Morton and Livi tops.  Like e I said, maybe getting old but think club colours stay at home.  Also, Lee Wallace is a grass towels? Interested to get some feedback - or perception. Cheers.

2001 was my first away game too and it was made clear to me too no club colours. Suppose it's historically to avoid all the old firm bull. Have always seen a few Morton tartan tops etc and even saw a pink Ayr rugby top yesterday. I'm sure most people have enough Scotland tops in their wardrobe to avoid the need for club colours.....?

By who? By people who think they get a say in what other people wear?

I tend to wear Scotland colours on the day of a game, but in Faro last year I think I had a club strip on the day after the game when I was wondering about in the sunshine. What's the big deal? I also had jeans on instead of a kilt if that upsets anyone.

  17. For Scotland U21 manager, what about Ian Cathro?

Young, highly thought of, clearly good with working with young players, and it's something a bit different.
