One would think the Euro 2016 fiasco would have made the big bosses to rethink about the direction football is heading to? I think football in europe is at its peak and people could feel oversarturated soon. Maybe wise to break european dominance and give others a chance..who knows. I am just bored by matches everyday (round the clock) and this blown up "product". The old championsleague and uefa cup with one televised match every other week and tough WC with Highlights from day one were much more appealing to me in the past.

So we have to arrange world football because you are fed up watching it on tv?

Just get rid of your Sky package or turn it over and watch bake off!

  2. I assume it is so they can see that 20K mugs joined even when 90% don't expect to qualify.

So they can keep prices the same or higher in the future, knowing a bad run won't result in lower membership numbers. The cash cows will keep mooing to get milked.

It helps the marketing department plan the holidays they will take with their bonuses for the next few years.

  3. Always been annoyed by this, I can't see why Andy Cameron could use the phrase in a record (I assume it was copyrighted) then have it trade marked by someone else.

Greedy Bastards pretending to be protecting the name in my opinion.

Now excuse me I'm just going to TM orange army, azzuri and barmy army before someone tries to protect them with a Trademarked scarf collection, available at reasonable prices.

    Get yer hats and scarfs!

  4. Ok maybe this is ridiculous, but Belgian fans were singing dj otzy and the italians were singing the white stripes tunes.

Surely these were inspired by our glorious travelling expeditions to Brussels and Bari.

    We're the best!

Yes I know how desperately sad this post is....

What are you going to eat if they get to the last 16?

I've learned a valuable lesson about shutting the eff up about eating stuff!

They'll probably take something from Austria, and I could see Portugal dropping points to Hungary if that miserable ba*tard starts annoying his teammates.

They've a good chance of progressing, "smugness" with a chance of "I told you so" forecast  to come my way.

  6. Fair doos, I'm as accurate as mystic meg and you all know more about football than I do.  Bravo Iceland and all who told me how good iceland were!

Didn't get a chance to see much of it, just a few mins.  Iceland looked like a pub team with 2 ringers up front and Nani was as squanderous as ever.  Knew when ronaldo was whining 10 mins in, the bunnet was on the line...

Sounds like he threw the toys out the pram, F*ck him, he's no Messi.

Now I'm just finishing my cream of bunnet sauce

  7. I was a fan of Bannan, but he had a tendency to repeatedly hammer 50 yard diagonal balls over everybody on the pitch for no reason, that Usain Bolt couldn't keep in play.

It was like his magic grampa's boots were too powerful for him.  Haven't seen him since he went to wednesday though.

Being the only home nation not to qualify should be motivation enough to put in better performances and get to the next tournament. It says a lot about our players character if they need motivation to play for their country

Obviously I wouldnt know, but being the only ones not at a party must make them want to spew.  They are bound to try harder once it matters again.

They were being used like an ugly bird for a bit of practice

We have regressed significantly since the promising start under Strachan and it is apparent he has no way to arrest the decline. He only knows to play one system and it is simply failing - and/or other teams are now wise to it. We were not unlucky to Germany, and if you are citing a factor as the continual selection of unmotivated players (when of course the manager can address this in a number of ways) then you are really either clutching at straws or have absolute unhinge blind faith.

I didnt say we were unlucky against Germany, we were unlucky Ireland defended for an entire match against Germany then long balled it and scored.  Ireland got 4 points against Germany, if Germany had got their finger out we would have been third.

I just don't think too much should be read into two matches where the players are facing a summer watching the euros on tv that would rather be on their holidays.  We're sick, can you imagine how they feel watching ireland and N Ireland at the euros?

I think we got worse as the campaign went on, some of that might have been down to bottle, and as you say a counter attack style will never be decent against Ireland and their antifootball, and we didnt change

  11. I used to fly in for home games until the season ticket came in (or England match tax) but I won't now.  Its a disgrace that they have jacked the prices and I think the precedent came from the clamour for italy tickets.

In a business sense, obviously to use the English carrot is clever when we might lose our first 4 matches, but we used to get two tickets for the England games at Hampden and I'm sure it wasnt 60 quid.

Yes some of the big matches could be popular theoretically but why should the people that supported the team in the hard times be milked for it?

We play in a formation that is ultimately defensive but allows us to supposedly counter quickly - and to be fair throughout the whole cmpaign we did it effectively maybe twice. We did this both home and away to Germany though we do in every game under Strachan regardless of the opposition. If you consider that attacking then that's a pretty generous assessment.

I think there is a downer on everything because we didnt qualify and stank in the last 2 friendlies, but we held our own against poland with a world class striker, did better against ireland than they did against us.  We were actually really unlucky Germany pissed points away against them. We even started winning friendlies, unheard of!

We might just be in a stage where the older players now know they will never qualify for something, and our decent young players have disappointed so we are back to relying on players that aren't motivated
