  1. You could argue we've met England before in a qualifier for the World Cup finals. If we'd beaten them in 1950 we would have qualified for Brazil, in fact the SFA in their wisdom decided that we would not travel despite "qualifying" by achieving second place in the Home Internationals...

  2. Going by the map of the ground on the SFA website it looks like we are in for a decent turnout. On the other hand the powers that be have previous in releasing batches of tickets in bits and drabs.

What size of crowd can we expect in a fortnight?

  3. Walking on way to Jock Stein stand and there was a group (4 or 5) of English lads passed by my son & I (as well as loads of Scotland fans), as they where walking all they sang was "we all hate Celtic, we all hate Celtic" again & again again, clearly looking for a reaction.

They most certainly would have had one from our support of years gone by.

Anyone else see / hear them, it was quite bizzare.

Equally bizarre were the "F the IRA" chants. I'm baffled about what this has to do with Scotland...

  4. We were in the Jock Stein upper and I would say it was a fantastic atmosphere. One pocket of Irish fans who appeared to co-exist with their neighbours pretty well. The only hint of bother was a guy at the back taking exception to some overly exuberant anti- McGeady chanting. Personally I think the energy extended to this stuff would be better spent cheering on the team but each to their own. The minor fracas was sorted out amicably with handshakes all round.

Every Irish fan we met was sound as a pound...

  5. I just counted it for the Ireland game and I make it 140? There must have either been alot of ticket sales this afternoon? or the sfa have just made seats unavailable to purchase or my counting is pretty poor.

51 left now. When was the last time Scotland had 60,000 for a home game?

  6. Would love to ask a few questions to the SFA re the ticketing strategy on this.

Unfortunately there are no supporters' representatives involved. Most forward thinking clubs have fans represented at boardroom level.

Can we get Supporters' Direct involved to try to change this situation? I think we need to get organised as a group of fans...

  7. A lot of folk making arses of themselves on here.

There is not going to be a significant "Glasgow Irish" presence in the home sections at Parkhead and those that do are no better or worse than the punters that head to Ibrox/ Celtic Park rather than cheer on their local team. That's the nature of fitba.

For what it's worth I'll be the guy wearing my (Grandfaither's Irish tartan) kilt cheering on Scotland... :D

  8. There's a small number of restricted view tickets for the Ireland game gone on sale late this afternoon, best be quick troops !

On sale WITHOUT the normal discount for the restricted view. Quite disgraceful from the SFA. Shocking stuff.

What will be next; no discount for kids, disabled fans?
