wubbs Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 The 24th March is Maundy Thursday, and since 2006, Starobrno have been celebrating this day by brewing a special batch of beer known as Zelené Pivo (green beer).
DoonTheSlope Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 A nice pint of that will go down well to toast a league cup win the previous week
wubbs Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Tell me the 13 isn't the percentage! The Czech's measure their alcohol by degrees plato, which relates to the density. 13 degrees is around 5.5% alcohol
scottincarlisle Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Just looks like Blue Bols & snakebite to me. But if I see it I shall try.
radian_13 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Never been one to shy away from trying local beers, I'm sure I'll try a half pint or two;) if I come across it
wubbs Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Here is a list of pubs in Prague 1 that were selling the green beer last year http://www.zelenepivo.cz/kde-se-toci_mesto_Praha%201
Ally boy 69 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Looks horrible but Im sure I might be persuaded ??
clarky1606 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 flavoured beer was all the range in Belgium a few years back and that went down a treat (well actually some flavours were honking!!) so will give the coloured beer a bash too If it is wet and alcoholic there is a fairly good chance we will all drink it
Robroysboy Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 The Czech's measure their alcohol by degrees plato, which relates to the density. 13 degrees is around 5.5% alcohol Fountain of knowledge wubbs, we salute you.
scottincarlisle Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I had a couple in the place where your drinks are brought on a mini train track.
jock strap Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I sunk a fair few of these on match day in the Red Helmet pub. I thought it was a nice pint
Padre Andrew Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 We had some green beer as part of a 'degustation' of different beers in one microbrewery bar. It had nettles in it. Not bad, once you got over the nettly bits.
