This kept reminding me of something I saw on the indyref2 thread a while back for some reason I could not quite recall but I could not go look for it last night.

It was to do with the emergence on the TAMB of the new ethnic slur of calling white people Gammon's.

The comic Nish Kumar has said “gammon”, as has the writer Ben Davis, who has since written an article apologising for it. It doesn’t really matter. Well of course the fundamental problem with your premise here is that the vast majority of people referring to that that stereotype of angry middle aged while males who appear in the Question Time audience - because that's where it originated - as gammons are other white people, so that kind of a problem with your theory about it being a racist slur.

She is the one saying that "Gammon" is a racist slur, i think thplinth called it an ethnic one.

I don't think there is an argument that you used the term, merely if it is actually "racist" cause you can't be racist against your own race.I'd never heard of the term before, so all this goes over my head. A quick peruse of google shows it is a talking point.
