Can the advance parties answer some questions?

So what's the brand of choice?

What are the options?

Any favourites?

Is there a Slovenian like standoff between brands (Goat lager v the red brand lager)?

Its all German beer on draught here.

Had a bootled Georgian one yesterday - a kind of dark lager. Was in a metalic green bottle - not bad. Just bought 4 gold cans of some sort of Georgian beer and put them in tge apartment's fridge ready for the lads turning up tomorrow.

Local beers include Argo, Kazbegi and Natakhtari. Argo do a dark (black) beer in bottles which I've developed a bit of a taste for. For the fridge, there's a wide range of big plastic bottles in supermarkets eg branches of Populi or the big Carrefour near the flower market (at that one they make you leave bags in a locker as you go in).

For those medicinal moments, in the absence of hot and cold running Irn Bru, I recommend taragoni - tarragon lemonade. Again you can get big bottles in supermarkets. Bright green, looks like mouthwash, tastes of ...er ... tarragon. I like it with a shot of Georgian brandy in it - but that's regarded as a bit odd. A cult drink.

Go for Nataktari, that's the best, Argo is no good, there's another one I've tried but can't remember the name, it wasn't good though

The wine is superb

Depends where you drink on the price of a beer, Shardeni/Bambis Rigi Street closer to 2 quid, go away from the main drag and it's a pound and less

Get cider in the Irish bars, Hangar and MacLarens

If you want bruised arms and no recollection of anything go for chacha, if not..... Stick to Nataktari :-)

That's my advice from last weekend but I had some chacha last night ;-)

Was on the chacha last night, head is absolutely burst today, been puking yellow most of the day, they don't seem to sell nurofen in Tbilisi

If you're still needing it, ask for ibupropeni.
