Grumpyauldgit
It all depends on the job and the company, some do some don't, I know my company do's check criminal records for theft, assault and other things, but the company I used to work for did not check for anything. As for throwing a bottle at Rangers fans, I say hang the barsteward.
Scunnered
Would depend on the Industry I'd imagine. Mines definitely do, we're constantly tied to NDA's so the last thing you want in your team is a tea leaf... Although saying that, Internet history is probably more important than whether we've nicked pants from our elderly neighbours washing lines... I've never done that. biffer
If it's finance they definitely will. Similarly for anything that someone could blackmail him about telling his employer.
Slinky
During interviews at my work we need to ask if the person has any criminal convictions.

PASTA Mick
We employ someone that was charged for throwing bottles at rival football fans. It only came to light years after he started but it didn't lose him his job or anything.
usainboltyarocket
Perhaps he should have thought about that before acting like a twat!! Maybe he is human? I dislike the facist khunts( OO not rangers fans) enormously.

SMcoolJ
Yes, we do fairly intensive backgrounds screening checks. Apprently HR also trawl Facebook and Twitter (I'm guessing they do this anyway!) for any potential red flags....
