Orraloon
Naebdy cares. Poor bugger. Clearly Mario does. Are you trying to say he's a "Naebdy"?
exile
Presumably Brenda got Dave to Balmoral and told him to get his posterior in gear.
Hessen
Well he's(my mate) in the book of Scotlands top most influential people in finance and he was a yes supporter, but basically came out of loads of meetings today and saying it was a no-go. I doubt buying him a beer and telling him to be a real scot would have much use. In the Herald online today....Ross McEwan has said he has not even spoken to Vince Cable, after the latter said RBS would have to move to London. Mr. McEwan said RBS would adapt to still being able to serve the UK after independence whilst being based in Scotland. What do these countries have in common? Croatia, Estonia, Slovakia, Montenegro, Lithuania, etc they are all modern countries making a real go of it mostly just based on tourism....something we have too. What didnt't they have? Natural resources, food and drink industry worth millions, oil reserves with an oil industry already in place, and most importantly, they didn't have a big bully of a neighbour trying to sabotage their country at every opportunity. Scotland is akin to Norway in the resources it has and they are mega rich. We are also similar to Poland, and they have one of the fastest growing economies in Europe, and they have their own currency too! Norway, Finland, Poland, Hong Kong, India......all thriving economies, and also countries less than 102 years old. If they, the establishment and the finance sector, have planted the seeds of doubt, visit the Business for Scotland facebook page. There you will find intelligent business people's view on the scare stories. I think it's outrageous that these London based organisations are putting fear into honest hard working Scottish people who have families and mortgages, so even if your friend is going to vote no, by looking at the Business for Scotland information, it will put their mind at rest regarding the future of an independent Scotland, because these intelligent and successful business people aren't leaving, they are staying! exile
Finally heard what Cameron actually said when he came to Scotland. He said this was a referendum, not a general election, so it meant you weren't voting for a party, and you wouldn;t get another chance. Or something. Just in case you didn't know what a referendum was.
Toepoke
Amid a welter of anti-SNP stories on the Daily Mail website, this one has reared its head again (front page in the English paper).... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2752273/One-four-MPs-member-family-public-payroll-costing-taxpayers-4m-year.html
flynnyboy
Just seen Darling up Sauchiehall Street with assorted hangers on including Jackie Baillie. Billy Connolly was booing him from across the street which was weird give they were presumably together. One of Darling's "associates" looked as if they were looking to lamp the boo-er until the realised who was doing it. Plenty of other random people on lunch giving him stick though - he wasn't hanging about. Edited to add that apparently it was a Billy Connolly lookalike - makes it a bit more surreal I was there too, he had a cheerleading gang with him and one guy out of camera view telling them when to clap and cheer. It was truly pathetic. I'm glad no one gave it laldy until he finished his last word but when he did it was a full on boo fest. It was equally as pathetic as his wee cheerleading gang to see him scarper accompanied by a crescendo of boos! Booooooooo!!!!
