BremnerLorimerGray
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11430617 He was indeed a legend of the game. Considered the most important post war Australian cricketer by some. RIP
Toepoke
An absolute legend on both sides of the microphone, and the world too. RIP. I remember enjoying his commentaries in the 1981 Ashes, then realising how much he would've been hurting to see Australia losing. You'd never have known. A true pro. biffer
Benaud's tips for commentating, heard Agnew go through them earlier Never ask a statement Remember the value of the pause There are no teams in the world called 'we' or 'they' Avoid cliches and banalities such as 'he's hit that to the boundary', 'he won't be happy with that', 'of course', 'as you can see on the screen' The titanic was a disaster, the Ethiopian famine was a disaster; neither bears any relationship to a dropped catch Put you brain into gear before opening your mouth Concentrate fiercely at all times Above all, don't take yourself too seriously, and have fun
