but 2/3 of the population are not in danger of being slaughtered by one side,

UN has stated that it's likely that 2/3rds of the country will likely be on the verge of starvation in a matter of months.

Is it the word "slaughter" you're objecting to, or are you claiming that the Suadis aren't entirely to blame?

I don't think the Saudi are entirely to blame, this is a Sunni v Shia conflict with a bit of Al Qaeda thrown in. Are the Saudis causing most of the damage yes but Iranian government also has blood on it hands.

Nothing in this region is simple, but the Saudis are bombing a neighbouring state. This is killing civilians and disrupting the infrastructure as a result of which aid (including food) cannot get through. The Iranians may have incited the Huthis to revolt, but it's the Saudi bombing that is causing the worst damage. And the UK and USA are cashing in.

Thanks for explaining that without making reference to the parties religions or religious differences, well done.

Getting crazier

Saudi Arabia is reportedly forging ahead with plans to dig a canal cutting it off from its neighbouring rival Qatar and using part of it as a nuclear waste facility.

Media reports in Saudi Arabia reported that five international companies have been invited to bid for the project, which the kingdom would like to wrap up within just one year.

But this is a religious war albeit intra-religion rather inter-religion though the main factor in this the Wahhabist doctrine that the Saudi's adhere to.

What’s clear is, regardless of religious history, the Saudi government wouldn’t be able to achieve as much destruction without the support of the US government, openly or covertly. The media are superficially covering this as per.

Religion is at most / at best a fig leaf in these regional power games.

especially considering a lot of the struggles were secular until very recently.

A kakistocracy (/ˌkækɪsˈtɒkrəsi, -ˈstɒk-/) is a system of government which is run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.

War crimes, genoicide, pedophillia, corruption etc we really are governed by the worst kinds of people, and we vote them in!
