Maq
Stewart Regan suggested on twitter that the SFA and Police are unable to act on sectarian singing, unless it's in one of their competitions - hence no action from the league cup semi final. Have a look at his twitter timeline from last night if you can
Doric
The establishment have given up. Bigots win again. Looks like they will never be beaten. Sad state of our society.
AberdeenAngus
Surely clubs can be given fines or expelled or banned from competitions?

ShedTA
What absolute cop out bollox. Any associated club can be punished for the behaviour of their fans at anytime. Or at least should be, regardless of competition. This really is beyond a joke.
sbcmfc
Someone made a good point about the (SFA) compliance officer and the league cup on his Twitter. Perhaps they can't issue a competition specific punishment for the league cup? But they can take action, but won't.
Jagtag
Surely clubs can be given fines or expelled or banned from competitions? They probably can if it's any other club. For the sake of Scottish football and Scottish society long bans for both of them for every offence should be dished out.
peever1745
The police were standing facing the crowd during many renditions of the famine song but took no action. They must be under someones orders to do nothing.
EddardStark
there where plenty of arrests on Sunday. Police need to enforce the law. Problem is the Scottish Govt have not listed what songs are offensive and thankfully they dont use the TAMB as a barometer for being offended otherwise football stadiums would be silent Edited February 7, 2015 by EddardStark

What about the sectarian singing at Edinburgh derbies? Put Hibs and Hearts behind closed doors too?

dipped flake
The usual what aboutery from the rangers fans on here. HIGHTOWER 1314
What a lot of pish regan spouts as the sfa are meant to be the guardians of the scottish game.Every competition comes under their gaze and they have the power to do everything possible to sort these idiots out but dont want to.They also should have the power to look at the pricing structures of teams aswell as everything else they goes on in each league. If they say they dont then can all get tae feck as whats the point of them being there. Maq
And every Aberdeen game should be behind closed doors for singing their Ibrox disaster ditty and the vile chants about Ian Durrant? DEAL! that would cut out those songs (which I don't think have been sung for years anyway) from Pittodrie for good. Great idea - and every time the OF sing their hate, they have to play behind closed doors too Agree completely

AberdeenAngus
What absolute cop out bollox. Any associated club can be punished for the behaviour of their fans at anytime. Or at least should be, regardless of competition. This really is beyond a joke. Bang on. The Whataboutery by Rangers fans on here is quite frankly offensive in itself. The thread is titled sectarian singing but as per they are quick to try talk about something else. 2 clubs indulge in this on a regular basis and very little is done. Not buying the 'everyone is doing what they can line either'. Very easy for Police and even clubs themselves to film supports an take action afterwards if lifting them all is not possible. Don't need to lift them all - just charge and prosecute a dozen or so every time it happens until the message gets through. The SFA & SPFL can easily charge clubs themselves - hand out a warning then start to fine clubs and dock points as well as expel or ban from competitions. What is the point of the game and politicians having laws and rules in place if a blind eye is turned when certain clubs are involved?
